Chapter 23 - The First Forest Area
Lin Yan instantly registered the mission he wanted to complete. At the mission registration site, there were several Elders guarding the place.
“I want to take this mission.” Lin Yan gave his mission and identity token. The identity token records the energy of its owner which makes it impossible to counterfeit. Once it was related to one's energy, it would not be able to be changed.
“Class mission, are you sure you want to take it? Usually for missions like this will be taken in groups.” The female elder felt puzzled that Lin Yan was taking the mission alone. He felt that Lin Yan was overestimating himself.
The missions in the Sky Dragon sect were categorized into several. Class F missions are the lowest and class S missions are the highest. For the outer wilderness disciples, the highest mission one could take was a C-class mission.
However there are some rumors saying that once every year there will be an extraordinary mission that comes out in the inner wilderness region, it is an SS class mission or SSS class.
“I want to take it.” said Lin Yan flat.
“Alright, it's up to you. You must know if you fail to complete the mission within the specified time, you will be penalized.” The female elder was commemorating Lin Yan.
“Yes, I get it.” Lin Yan nodded small.
The elder did not ask any more and directly processed the mission for Lin Yan.
Some of the children who registered missions were staring at Lin Yan with scornful gazes. Naturally they understood the meaning of the C-class mission and Lin Yan seemed to overestimate himself by taking the C-class mission alone.
“What a new student who overestimates himself.” snorts a young man who looks 17 years old. The other two comrades nodded in agreement and looked at Lin Yan like an idiot.
“She will definitely die if taking a class C mission alone. Was his brain damaged or hit by something?” the other young man scoffed back.
Lin Yan did not care at all about what they said and considered the three people as unnecessary flies to serve. He received the confirmation of the mission and immediately left the place ignoring the three idiots.
“Basic fucking boy! You're so brave to ignore us?” one of them was angry because it looked like Lin Yan thought of them as the wind then.
Lin Yan stopped in his tracks and looked at the three young men. “I want to ask you, what does it have to do with you if I die or not? What does this have to do with you if I complete the mission or not? I wonder why cultivators like you seem so fond of interfering in other people's affairs. Go home drinking milk so that your brain is a little smarter and has the wisdom not to interfere in the affairs of others.”
After saying that, Lin Yan turned around and left the three youths who looked to be statuesque by Lin Yan's words.
Many laughter rang out afterwards which made the three of them have a red face like tomatoes.
Even the Elder who took care of Lin Yan's mission retrieval choked and laughed loosely. He had never heard a cultivator speak like that and Lin Yan's words were indeed not wrong at all.
“Basic fucking boy! You'll be sorry!” they speak in the heart. Without any discussion, they wanted to clear up Lin Yan within the forest. Naturally the three of them would not let go of Lin Yan after humiliating them in public.
Meanwhile, Lin Yan directly went to the forest region of the Heavenly Dragon sect. The forest had several areas, there were four parts of the forest. For the outer wilderness disciples, only the forest named the first region could be entered. While the second to fourth region can only be entered by inner intermediate disciples because it is very dangerous.
Every part of the forest is huge. For the outer wilderness disciples it would take months to encircle the forest of the first region.
Arriving at the exit gate towards the forest, Lin Yan noticed the many outer wilderness disciples that were coming in and out of the gate.
“Time to complete the mission.” Lin Yan went straight through the gate guarded by some cultivators. They were only tasked with intercepting the spirit beasts that were trying to pass through the gate even though there was little chance of such a thing happening.
Lin Yan directly jumped towards the tree then jumped onto another tree. He wanted to complete the mission as soon as possible. He was not aware that at a considerable distance from him, the three young men he had previously been inferior to followed him.
“We will take care of the boy when he has moved quite far into the forest.” One of them said in a cold tone because he really wanted to tear Lin Yan apart.
“Yes. It is better to wait a long distance so that no one sees.” The other young man nodded in agreement.
“Do you guys feel that it is not strange, it seems that we are lagging behind him.” The other young man felt puzzled as he almost lost track of Lin Yan.
“Increase speed. It was likely that the child had reached the fourth stage Houtian. Even so, with the word threesome it would not be difficult to kill him.” the other young man said in a cold tone and accelerated his pace after Lin Yan.
The two others nodded in agreement and increased the speed as well.
Meanwhile, Lin Yan continued moving and it had been almost half an hour he had entered into the forest.
“Black Leopard spirit beast. It's hard to find him. It seems I have to move more into the forest. The Black Leopard spirit beast had strength equivalent to a fourth stage Houtian or perhaps stronger.” muttered Lin Yan as it continued moving above the tree. But he was not afraid at all, he had once faced off against a second level spirit beast that was on par with a first stage Houtian. But it was a time in which he had not entered the path of cultivators and he came out victorious.
Naturally Lin Yan had been taught by his grandparents about the differences of each level of cultivator. With his current strength, he was confident that he could match a fifth stage Houtian level cultivator.
But he was aware that even if he later reached the Houtian level, he would not be able to fight a Xiantian cultivator because the difference was too great. When it reached the Xiantian level, every break through, the cultivator would experience a drastic increase in body and also the resulting qi was already different.
While continuing to move, Lin Yan narrowed his eyes as he finally realized that someone was following him and kept coming closer towards him. He looked back and activated the King's Eye.
“Oh? The three of them? It seems they want to finish me off.” Lin Yan raised the corner of his lips. A murderous glint flashed across his eyes, if they did not intend to fight him, he would naturally not make a move. But seeing that he continued to be followed, it was certain that they wanted to deal with him. And because of that, he would kill all three of them.
“It seems that you want to be buried in this forest, well, I will fulfill your wishes!”
