Chapter 25 - Killing Two Spirit Beasts
Lin Yan's question made the two cultivators shudder in fear. They must have seen some other bodies in the distance. To be able to kill three cultivators single-handedly proved that Lin Yan was not an indiscriminate child.
“No.” both shook their heads quickly for not wanting to deal with Lin Yan. They were both aware that such a thing often happened in the forest. All students more often do not interfere with such problems because they do not want to be involved. Especially if the individual is strong, they value life more than doing things that do not produce results at all.
Lin Yan nodded in satisfaction. He examined the corpse but there was nothing useful to take. He immediately moved back without examining the other two corpses because he felt they were both poor as well.
The two cultivators only sighed as Lin Yan left. They immediately recalled Lin Yan's face to avoid him in the future.
Lin Yan continued moving inside the forest and found the Earth Mushroom several times. Usually the students will feel overwhelmed when capturing plants that move very nimble. But it was a different story for Lin Yan.
“Panen this time is quite satisfying. I did not expect that this forest was filled with so many Earth Mushrooms. In just a few hours, I had obtained seven Earth Mushrooms. It was more than the resources given by the sect for a month.” Lin Yan smiled slightly as he looked at the Earth Mushroom in his hand then stored it inside the space ring.
Just as Lin Yan was about to make a move back, he heard two spirit beasts fighting.
“Let's see what spirit beasts are fighting. Coincidentally I also need a spirit beast core to cultivate.” Lin Yan grew even more excited and directly moved towards the source of the roars of the two spirit beasts.
When it had approached, Lin Yan stopped at one of the trees. He stared at the two spirit beasts that were killing each other.
“Oh? Black Leopard. And his class.” Lin Yan's eyes narrowed upon seeing with the King's Eye technique.
“It was as strong as a seventh stage Houtian cultivator.” Lin Yan put on a serious face because he understood that he could not possibly defeat such a powerful spirit beast.
Lin Yan's gaze was fixed on the other spirit beasts. “Lion-Tailed Spear.” he instantly recognized the species.
“It seems that the Black Leopard will win because it is slightly stronger than the Spear-Tailed Lion. But it is clear that the Black Leopard needs great effort to win.” said Lin Yan while stroking his chin as he was thinking.
“If that Black Leopard is seriously injured, I will hunt him down. Otherwise, I better forget about it and look for the weaker one.” Lin Yan decided.
The fight between the two spirit beasts dragged on like Lin Yan had predicted. It was also late afternoon which meant that he had little time left. The time he took to return to the sect would be long.
“Ck! I didn't expect the Spear-Tailed Lion to put up a tough fight. I don't have time anymore!” Lin Yan finally made a crazy decision. He took out two swords back to deal with the two spirit beasts as they had already sustained quite severe injuries.
“I'm very uncomfortable wearing a sword. When the time comes, I will look for another weapon.” muttered Lin Yan as he gazed towards the two swords in his hand.
Without wasting any time, Lin Yan approached slowly. He hid his presence as much as possible so as not to be detected by the two fighting spirit beasts.
When the distance was very close, Lin Yan paused temporarily behind the tree to take a chance.
The Black Leopard bit the body of the Spear-Tailed Lion and instead, the Lion pierced the body of the Leopard with its tail that looked like a spear.
“Now!” Lin Yan who had seen the situation with the King's Eyes, instantly moved at his full speed.
Lin Yan jumped into the air while swinging his two swords towards the two spirit beasts.
The sraing! The sraing!
The Lion-Tailed Spear that suffered the most loss due to being bitten, did not have the time to dodge when it sensed Lin Yan's presence.
While the Black Leopard instantly released its bite and dodged to the side from feeling a death that was very close to him.
The Lion-Tailed Spear instantly died as Lin Yan cut his neck more than half. On the other hand, the Black Leopard remained exposed to the slash even though it did not hit its vital point.
Lin Yan shriveled slightly as the Black Leopard managed to dodge. Also the spirit beast directly swung its claws towards Lin Yan from being extremely angry.

Lin Yan felt an incredible weight and seemed to still slightly underestimate the strength of the Black Leopard that had been severely injured.
Due to sensing the overwhelming weight, Lin Yan forced his body to push the sword with all his might.

The Black Leopard Claw was pushed by Lin Yan and he immediately jumped back and forth from feeling the sudden danger.
And it turned out to be true, the Black Leopard instantly shot back while opening its jaws wide to bite Lin Yan.
“Dasol fool!” muttered Lin Yan because he best understood that when the spirit beast opened its mouth like that, his death had arrived.
With his leisure, Lin Yan remained waiting for the Black Leopard to approach. After their distance reached a quarter of a meter, Lin Yan raised his sword towards the front right at the jaws of the spirit star.

The sword directly pierced inside and Lin Yan tried to hold his foot back from retreating or being pressured. He did not waste any chance and instantly unsheathed the sword in his left hand right in the eyes of the Black Leopard.

The Black Leopard was killed instantly as Lin Yan's sword pierced towards the eyes and pierced through the spirit beast's brain.
“It doesn't seem too difficult.” Lin Yan smiled slightly as he pulled out the sword from the body of the Black Leopard. He immediately dug around the belly of the spirit beast and pulled out an irregular ball-shaped object in red.
“Mission has finished.” Lin Yan smiled and stored the spirit beast core as well as the corpse of the Black Leopard.
Then Lin Yan walked up to the Spear-Tailed Lion and started digging out his spirit beast core as well.
“Give the Spear-Tailed Lion to us!” someone's voice rang out in Lin Yan's ears and he stopped splitting the spirit beast's stomach.
Lin Yan looked towards the source of the voice and found a group of young men who were looking at him coldly.
“Why should I?” asked Lin Yan curiously.
“We have a mission to hunt the Spear-Tailed Lion. And it seems that the spirit beast is in accordance with our mission criteria.” replied one of them.
“Find your own prey! I'm the one who defeated him, so this is mine!” Lin Yan snorted slightly and continued the spirit star core surgery.
“We did not ask! But this is an order!”
When Lin Yan heard those words, he immediately stood up and turned his head back.
The orders? Was Lin Yan going to obey the orders of others?
The answer is of course not.
“Come and grab it if you have the ability! However, you should be ready to risk your life to take it!” a ferocious aura emanated from Lin Yan. He is a proud figure and will never bow to the orders of anyone he does not acknowledge.
