Chapter 07 - Farewell
Many thoughts flashed through Lin Ming and Lin Xi's mind about Lin Yan's body looking completely abnormal. With the amount of qi absorbed as well as with innate full talent, Lin Yan should have a fairly high cultivation level. But on the other hand, all was not as expected of the old couple.
“Before we start training, grandfather will explain the last thing about cultivator.”
“Cultivators have levels and stages. The cultivator level was divided into nine levels. And each sub level will be divided into nine as well.”
“Grandfather will explain the first three levels because the rest you will learn in the future.” Lin Ming explained.
Lin Yan simply nodded his head small and waited to memorize all the information that his grandfather would give.
“The first level is the Qi Foundation. This was the first level of the cultivation path that signified a cultivator being able to absorb qi in the air with the help of spiritual roots. Grandfather forgot to say it, every spiritual root has a different qi absorption and the red spiritual root is the peak of the qi absorption speed in the air which makes a cultivator increase faster.”
“The level of the Qi Foundation is divided into nine namely the first stage which is the beginning and nine which is the end.”
“Next is Houtian, the level is also divided into nine stages which are the same as Qi.” Foundation
“And the third is Xiantian. This cultivation class is also divided into nine stages.”
“Now, grandfather will only teach you about the level of the Qi Foundation because you currently have the cultivation of the first stage Qi Foundation. Up here are any questions?” Lin Ming who had just explained asked back towards Lin Yan.
“No.” Lin Yan shook his head because he had understood even though he was still curious about the Fourth level and above. But he felt no need to ask because one day he felt he would reach that level.
“Good. Let's start the training!” The satisfied Lin Ming saw Lin Yan's demeanor and intelligence did not waste any time and began the hellish training he had neatly stacked on his head for a week.
After Lin Ming explained, Lin Yan's hellish training had finally begun.
Lin Ming and Lin Xi taught Lin Yan as much as they could and Lin Yan barely had any time off at all. He did not know why his grandparents seemed to be forcing the exercises. But he didn't mind at all. Although the hours to sleep for him were only four hours a day, he did not complain.
Lin Yan's persistence made Lin Ming and Lin Xi startled. They were initially hesitant to suppress Lin Yan in intense training. But when he saw Lin Yan's persistence, the two old couples nodded in satisfaction.
During the hard training, Lin Ming also gave a skill book related to spiritual roots. With that skill, one will be able to control the absorption of qi in the air so as not to cross the line that can have a negative impact on the body.
Before Lin Yan started his net in the path of even cultivators, he had already been taught a lot about medical knowledge, inscriptions and so on so this time Lin Yan had only focused on training qi and other techniques.
Within a week of training, Lin Yan had also received some powerful techniques. Some of those skills require high requirements such as cultivation level.
Lin Ming and Lin Xi told Lin Yan to memorize all those techniques and one day when the requirements were sufficient, he could use them.
Within a week, Lin Yan had reached the level of the fourth stage Qi Foundation. But his speed slowly slowed down.
From the beginning they were sure something like that would happen. With the awakened red spiritual root even Lin Yan should have the ninth stage Qi Foundation cultivation level automatically. But Lin Yan started from the beginning so his cultivation speed was certainly terrifying.
“Alright, today's training has been completed. It's time to go home.” Lin Ming said as he looked at Lin Yan who was panting while lying on the surface of the ground.
“Ya grandpa.” Lin Yan forced his extremely tired body to stand up. The more days of training the heavier but he did not complain at all.
Lin Ming and Lin Xi looked at the grandson with mixed gazes as this might be the last time they saw Lin Yan. And it might take 5-10 years at least for them to meet again.
After that, they returned to their residence for dinner together.
After dinner, Lin Yan returned to the room where he rested. He laid his body still feeling tired but he smiled because he really enjoyed the training he did with his grandparents. He then fell asleep tired and waited for tomorrow to train again.
Lin Ming and Lin Xi looked at Lin Yan who had fallen asleep. Although they did not enter the room that belonged to Lin Yan, they could see everything.
The two fell silent within a few hours and only noticed Lin Yan's sleeping face. They did not tell Lin Yan at all that they were going to go to a very far place because there was an important matter to be resolved.
“It's time.” Lin Ming put on a flat face but inside he felt extremely bitter at this moment.
“Ya.” Lin Xi only nodded small and it was seen that she was shedding her tears.
“Life well Yan'er. Someday we will meet again.” Lin Ming instantly disappeared from the mansion as he could not stand it anymore. If it lingered, he would definitely change his mind.
Lin Xi immediately left a letter on the table where they always ate together. There were some things that Lin Ming and Lin Xi had agreed to leave behind for Lin Yan's needs in the long run.
Also, the recommendation letter for Lin Yan entering a sect had been left on the table.
After all the preparations were done, Lin Xi looked at her grandson's face one last time. He did not go inside because he knew that his grandson had a very high perception and would immediately wake up if there was a little movement.
“Yan'er..don't get mad at your grandparents for going from your side. But know, we love you very much. However, we have an important task and cannot take you. Live well, find friends for yourself, achieve what you want to achieve, and when the time comes, grandparents will meet you again.” muttered Lin Xi as she shed her tears.
Lin Xi immediately disappeared from the simple house leaving Lin Yan who was sleeping soundly.
Lin Yan did not know about the departure of his grandparents. From tomorrow, he must fight alone without the protection of two extraordinary figures who always care for him with affection.
