Chapter 06 - Lin Yan's Talent
Lin Yan's training will begin. He did not realize that in a week, he would be separated from his grandparents. Although he currently does not have much motivation, he still runs it. Since his grandfather and grandmother said that one day he would understand why he should become a cultivator, he would definitely work his best in training.
“Deliver the qi that is in your body. Everyone would be able to sense the qi in the air if training the basic qi training books. You have learned it and it will not be difficult to circulate the qi in your body that you just absorbed from the air.” continued Lin Ming with an explanation that made anyone would be confused.
Lin Yan who had read the basic qi training book, had absorbed the qi in the air. He felt a little heat in his body. As the qi began circulating in every cell of his body, he sensed that the qi he absorbed was moving into a special pathway within his body and he knew that it was a meridian.
Lin Yan sensed that the moving qi in his body was slowly penetrating something in every tissue present in his body.
A white mist slowly seeped on Lin Yan's body. Lin Ming and Lin Xi knew that their granddaughter succeeded in the first try.
“It looks like Yan'er is indeed very talented in the field of cultivation. In the history that I have seen, children like Yan'er can only be counted with fingers.” Lin Ming said in a flat tone but within that remark, Lin Xi knew that her husband looked very happy.
The two of them continued to pay attention to Lin Yan who continued to circulate qi while absorbing it in the air at once.
Lin Ming and Lin Xi's eyes narrowed as Lin Yan's body was indeed not normal at all. As the absorption occurred, they both understood that Lin Yan's body was like a bottomless abyss when absorbing qi.
Around them, the amount of qi circulating was thinning at an extremely high speed.
Also, what made Lin Ming and Lin Xi stunned, there was no dirt at all coming out of Lin Yan's pores which meant that Lin Yan's body was extremely unique. Usually if one opened the meridians, the circulating qi would expel a certain amount of impurities clogging within the meridians.
“Huft.” Lin Yan exhaled as he felt there was no point in absorbing any more qi around him as it looked already very thin.
“I succeeded grandpa. Am I already a cultivator?” asked Lin Yan a little spirit as he felt that being a cultivator was not difficult at all.
“Yes, it is passable that you can achieve this result in one try.” Lin Ming would naturally not praise Lin Yan for not being big-headed and arrogant.
“Now it's time to see your innate talent.” Lin Ming ignored Lin Yan's awkward-looking face as he said appreciably. He took out a white crystal ball of thin air which made Lin Yan startled.
After approaching Lin Yan, Lin Ming stretched out the ball he had in his hand towards Lin Yan. “Put your hand on this ball. You just need to channel qi into the ball.”
Lin Yan simply nodded and did not ask about where the ball had appeared from before. He put his palms and then channeled the qi in a certain amount.
The ball slowly shone the first bright. Then not long after that it turns yellow and then to green, blue. Not long after that the ball turned red which made Lin Ming and Lin Xi very surprised because it was true that Lin Yan's talent was very high.
But not just get there. The ball then turned black in less than 1 second and the thing that made Lin Ming and Lin Xi shocked happened.
Prangs!
The ball broke into crystal pieces.
Lin Yan who was originally concentrating while closing his eyes, was suddenly startled as well as there was an explosive sound heard and his palms tingled slightly.
The two old figures fell silent when they heard Lin Yan's question. They both thought hard about what had happened before. They had lived for a long time and had never encountered such an event before.
“What was that? I sensed something unknown was making the talent acquisition ball explode!” Lin Ming thought hard and tried to recall all the ancient records but never found such a thing.
Lin Xi was immersed in her own thoughts because of the incident.
“Grandfather, grandma...what happened?” Lin Yan tilted his head as his grandfather and grandmother looked like they were daydreaming.
“Oh? There's nothing. Grandpa and grandma have tested your innate talent.” Lin Ming who came to a realization from his mind immediately spoke.
“So? What about my talent grandfather?” Lin Yan asked excitedly.
“Your talent is quite high. So grandfather and grandmother would adjust the portion of the exercise for you.” replied Lin Ming with a stoic tone as usual.
“Really? I know that I am talented!” Lin Yan instantly raised his head slightly and felt proud of himself.

A punch landed on Lin Yan's head. “Don't be proud stinking boy! There are a lot of young people out there who have your talent! Just so you know, out of the tens of thousands of high talents, only a few have survived to the present!” Lin Ming directly lectured Lin Yan once more.
Lin Yan held his head and felt ashamed. He realized that he was too arrogant.
“It looks like we have to teach Yan'er about decent behavior as well for the inner cultivators.” Lin Ming and Lin Xi together.
“Next, we will start the real training!” Lin Ming then grinned which made the feathers on Lin Yan's body stand upright.
“Listen boy! We will train you as hard as we can. We won't be lenient when training you. So, prepare yourself as best you can.” continued Lin Ming in a slightly evil tone. Naturally he would create hellish training for Lin Yan in order for his full potential to awaken within a short period of time.
Even Lin Xi thought the same as her husband.
One thing they understood at this moment, the previous incident certainly made the two of them shocked beyond measure. But, there were other things that made Lin Ming and Lin Xi confused until now.
With the amount of qi that Lin Yan had absorbed in a few hours, his cultivation level was only at the basic level of a cultivator.
Normally, a high talent that had a red spiritual root would have a full innate cultivation level. Which meant, whenever someone who had red spiritual roots would instantly reach the peak of the cultivation level and it would only take a short time to get to the next level.
But on the other hand, Lin Yan was not like that and they both understood that it was related to a talent detection ball that turned black then exploded.
