The Eternal War Kasarewang

The Eternal War Kasarewang
Magic Club (2)

True to his promise, Aster was already waiting for him in the club room. Being on the fourth floor, the club room was almost untouched except by the activities of the magic club. The class chairs and tables were sidelined to the back of the class, leaving two tables and several chairs in the middle. On the table, there are several chemical cups and porcelain cups. Inside the beaker, there were several liquids, ranging from the clear to the murky. Some stones and other materials were also placed in the poselen cup. There is also a lamp burner that contains spirits, matches, and empty petri dishes.

“It looks more like an unkempt laboratory than a magic club room.” Decak Harsa's.

“Hehe, I got this fitting chemical club want to utilize their club money allocation to replace equipment that has been a long time.” Aster said proudly. “But to be honest anyway. Most of our activities involve real magic.”

“Wow... What all magic club members can magic?”

“Hah? Oh, naw. Right now, the active members of the magic club are just me and you. The rest of the third-graders who join the club are only registered in the name only. They like it because I as the chairman of the club never require them to participate in activities. That way, I have a place to practice magic anyway.”

“But if so, we should find another club member before the third grade kids pass.” Comment Harsa. “If not, next year this club can disband.”

Aster's face was gloomy, recalling that fact. “I will recruit one generation friends who do not want a lot of club activities also in the third class.” Said Aster. “Of course I am very happy if you want to invite friends, but if I want to still be able to practice magic in every club activity.”

“Ohh, so how's that magic practice?” Harsa was curious about how Aster bewitched.

“I usually practice my control of bewitching time, so that I can bewitch longer.” He said as he started to raise his hand. Aster's face was full of concentration as he began to move one of the stones in the porcelain cup. The stone was raised to its height parallel to Aster's eyes. It did not stop there, the stone, which was originally trapezoidal, turned perfectly round, before finally blooming into a star and falling back to the ground.

“Haahhh. Now that's my limit if I want to change the shape of the land. It feels very different from just moving the land in large quantities.” Said Aster tired. It was as if he had just finished a difficult math exam.

“Wow. You master the material decree, huh?” ask Harsa amazed. “Yesterday I saw you bewitch the water element, now the earth element.”

Aster's forehead is wrinkled. “What is a material decree?”

“You don't know?” Harsa should not be surprised, the knowledge of physis and decrees is generally only known by Kasarewang.

When Aster shook his head, Harsa explained what Adi had taught him.

“I just found out there is such a division, but strange as well.” He said then lighted the spiritus burner. “I can also control fire element kok.” Then, he lifted those tongues of fire into one apple-sized fireball that floated above his palm. “Even I more easily control fire than ground.” Said.

“Woow..” Harsa is speechless in his admiration. Is Aster like Adi, able to master two magic decrees?

Aster clenched his hand and the fireball went out. “But I can't do as you do.”

“You mean?”

“I can't make fire, I can only control fire aja.” Aster answered with determination. “That's what I want you to teach me.”

“But yesterday you can make water kok.”

Aster shakes. “That I am not making water, I am turning water in the form of gas in the air into its liquid form.”

“Oooh, wow. You really apply the principle of chemistry to magic yes.” Harsa commented while contemplating her own magic.

“Hmm? Was she? I thought that because studying chemistry helped me develop my magic. Enough about my magic. What are you about? Do you not burn friction on oxygen? I used to think of making a fire that way, but I was afraid of making an explosion. So I didn't.”

Harsa. This time he raised his hand while draining his physis into his arm. Deliberately, when the physis came out of her body, Harsa directed her to turn into the fire element. “I turned the physis that was inside of me into the fire element.”

“Physis?”

Harsa explains again what Adi explained to her about physi and magic. Aster listened seriously. “Wow. I don't know about all that.”

“Then, how do you control that fire, water, and land?” ask Harsa.

Harsa looked at him with squeaking eyes. Aster's answer is very similar to Adi's.

“I used to see magic once. Back then, I was protected by a tsunami wave. I remember seeing someone holding back the water wave in one little ball of air that held me and her. From that moment on, the water called out to me. At first I thought it was just my imagination, but when I was eight years old, when I got bored and responded to the call, the water around me began to move according to my will. The same thing happened to the wind, the earth, and the fire. I started experimenting with other things. BUT, I can never make something like you, I always move and change the form of things.”

“Call?” Harsa never experienced what Aster told her.

“Yes. Once you perceive those elements to exist and become part of your world, you can move them.”

“Hmmmm.” Harsa. “It looks like we are bewitching in a different way. A minute.”

Harsa recalled a lesson from her brother yesterday about aura. Concentrating fully, Harsa let out her aura. Although his aura was neither broad, dense, nor as pressing as Adi's aura, Harsa's aura was enough to perceive the physis around this class.

“Ka. You do not have Kai..” Mumbled Harsa accidentally on himself when he realized that he did not find a concentrated collection of physis in the abdominal area of Aster.

“What? I don't have what?” ask Aster confused.

“Eng.” Stupid, inner Harsa. Of course Aster doesn't have Kai, Aster is human! “Soal. I created fire from the physis that was inside me.”

“Hm, so I can't create with magic because I don't have a physis in me?”

“Not, you have a physi. I felt it.” Harsa said honestly. “Free, your physis is not concentrated. Your physis is spread all over your body. But, you-” You don't have Kai, so there is no physis from the Spirit World that can be used for magic. He does not want Aster to suspect that there are physiological differences between him and ordinary humans.

Same as Aster. The teenage boy did not have Kai in him, but the difference was, Barasa could move the physis in his body to concentrate some parts of his body such as in his hands, feet, or chest. Harsa knew because she observed the movement of the physis on Barasa when she showed off her martial technique yesterday to prove that her way of fighting the formskitter was martial, not magic. Well, in the end they didn't manage to come to an agreement.

“Hm, But?” Urge Aster curious.

“Maybe you can't feel it yet.” Harsa said hurriedly.

“So. This Physis, how do you perceive it?”

I don't know, it's been in my body since I was born. Harsa's answer was stuck in her mouth. He recalled how exactly the feeling of the physis was flowing in his body. “As if there is energy coming out of your body. Like when you feel muscles in certain parts of your body are stronger than others.”

This time, Aster who was looking at him was confused.

“Better I exemplify.” Harsa then pushed her physis slowly on Aster like a gentle morning breeze. “I just crashed my physisku into your body.”

“I feel…. Like something penetrated my body for a moment.” Said Aster shuddering. “Taste...”.

“Neasy’?” Harsa remembers how Adi put his physis into Harsa's body.

“Yes, but it does enlighten. I think I know what you mean about physis now.” Aster said with more confidence. “Maybe I can shape it. Movement physis in me, then take it out?”

Harsa nodded confidently. “But, Aster, about this-“

Aster smiled with satisfaction. “Quiet, about your magic, I won't spread.”

“Appointment?”

“Appointments.” Aster answered while pointing his little finger. "As long as you want to be registered with the magic club and teach me all about magic that you know!"

Harsa sighed, but she could not dodge. "Yes! Aye!"
