The Eternal War Kasarewang

The Eternal War Kasarewang
City of Drestha (5)

Before returning home, Adi wanted to stop by the store. They went back down the same road, towards the city. Harsa absorbed the entire landscape of the city of Drestha. Their homes are very different. The houses were built by multi-storey slabs of white stone. Most of them have flat roofs on which are installed benches and planting tables. On top of those roofs, they also planted small trees, especially flowers and vegetables. Between the streets of the city, there were no vehicles. Everyone is on foot.

Adi took them to a small shop near the square. Entering through the glass door blur, they entered a small room on the left-right wall filled with small cabinets containing agate and other precious stones of various colors, sizes, and colors, and shape.

“Wooaahh, it feels like getting into another world.” Harsa's comments were absorbed by those glittering objects. “This is all original?”

“Ya, of course original.” Adi replied astonished. “Why do you think this is fake?”

“I mean, for jewelry stores, the safety is very low. I wonder if they are real. Maybe if in the city of Drestha the crime rate is a little yes.”

“Jewelry store? Why do you think this is a jewelry store?”

Their conversation was interrupted by the seller. Adi tells her whatever she wants, and the man returns with a small paper package. After paying with one gold coin, they left the store.

“This.” Said Adi handing the package to Aster. “Ringet for physis backup you made. The physis backup will be very useful for you to fight.”

“Lah! I'm the birthday, Aster's chef who was given a gift.” Harsa Protests.

“Your birthday present will be later, if it is already!”

“Eh, is that really okay? You're very kind, already willing to help me practice magic, want to find a mentor, to buy this. I don't know how to bales kak Adi.”

“No problem. I sincerely give it.”

Hesitating, Aster received the paper packet.

Before returning home, they decide to eat a pastry bought by Aster as a birthday present for Harsa in the park of Drestha city square. They sat on one of the garden tables made of iron. For some reason, Adi looks hesitant and timid to eat in the park of Drestha City, but seeing Aster is starving, Adi has no heart to refuse.

“Hm. It's so good, Ter!” Praise Harsa after tasting one. “You make it yourself?”

“Yes, no. I bought it from the store.”

Just a few minutes after they sat in the park, Harsa began to notice some astonished gazes from the people around them.

“Uh, brother, why do people see us huh?” ask Harsa. “Ap akita breaking certain rules?”

“Ngak. The kasarhewang rarely eats. That's all that makes them confused. There are no rules about eating. You don't have to care.”

Even though Harsa tried not to care, she still felt uncomfortable being stared at like that.

“Bentter, yes. I'm gonna freak the stomach for a while and then we're gonna cau.” Aster began to chew faster.

“Cause.” Adi said.

“But I don't understand. Why can't Brother Adi teach me space element magic and others? Whereas earlier Kak Adi could do space decryption magic, teleportation and open another dimension.” Ask Atser confused.

“I can only magic decree space due to spells.” Adi said while showing the agate rings he was wearing.

“Mantra?”

“Yes. Mantra...” After getting a confused look from Aster and Harsa, then Adi realized that he never explained the matter of the spell. “Mantra is like what is it, Indonesian?-------? Like a blueprint?”

“Template?” harsa Proposal.

“Ya, template from magic.” Answer Adi even though he does not understand what a template is. “So by creating a template, other people who do not have alignment with a certain decree can do magic just by flowing physis to the spell.”

“Then what does this have to do with Adi's kak agate rings?” ask Harsa.

“Mantra can only be stored in stone made from physis backup. I don't know exactly why you call this ring agate.” Adi was confused. “This stone is made of compacted physis. Just like the physis backup Aster made on his body.”

“Ooohh.” Both Aster and Harsa nodded in understanding.

“Ya.”

“So that's why the people here all wear flashy accessories.” Harsa said more to herself.

Adi remains confused. “What? Not at all flashy, really. All these rings are just tools that are worn everyday.” The objection. “Let's next birthday I buy you a spell to control the water element. So, we can go diving together into the Pacific Ocean quietly.” Adi said remembering Harsa's promise to accompany him to dive. “Hah... I really need a vacation.” His complaint.

“Then buy it now, no need next year.”

“I still need saving to buy a house around here.” Adi said while pointing at the residential area near the square. “Yha, at least if I can not buy a house here, akum au portable house that has a page. Having a portable apparatus is practical, but not comfortable for a family. No windows, no patio, and also have to keep replenishing oxygen.”

“Refilling oxygen? Oxygen in the apartment room Adi can run out?” This had never been thought of by Harsa before.

“Yes, of course. My apartment type is the cheapest among all other portable dwellings. My apartment is not made in special dimensions such as government places or luxury homes. My apartment was made in an empty place in space, so, yes of course the oxygen there can run out.”

The line of Harsa and Aster looked at Adi in surprise. “So you mean, all this time we slept in space every stay there?” ask Aster gelapan.

“Ya.” Adi replied confused to see the surprise of Harsa and Aster. “During this time when we got into my apartment, we teleported into space. Why?”

“Wow.” Harsa is speechless. “Is it safe?”

“Yes, of course. As long as there was no problem with the teleportation door it was no problem. There are no magic creatures in space. The architecture must also choose a place that is not an orbit of a particular planet or object.”

“Why not open a place to stay on earth?” Aster shook his head not understanding.

“More easy and cheaper than installing a spell that can hide magic from formskitter. From the past, sometimes the king often gave the issue to Kasarewang open other cities besides Drestha on earth, but until now it seems there has been no progress in terms of human resources. After all, if you want to create a new city, you think about not just formskitter but the habitat of other magical creatures. So, yeah. Until now the discourse has not been developed.”

“I can't believe.. In that case, with space decree magic, I can go to the moon?” ask Harsa.

“Yes, but what do you do? There is nothing.”

“I just want to stick a flag there.”

“I think I understand more why people who know magic want knowledge Kasarewang.” Aster said to himself. “Many things can be done with magic.”

They eat cake in the park while enjoying the view of the city of Drestha which is much different from the view of Bandung city square. The more afternoons it seemed the more people gathered in the square. After satisfied eating, they again held Adi's hand and transported to Harsa's house. It was almost midnight when they returned home.

“Ter, do you have any problem coming home at this time?” Harsa asked worriedly as Aster was trying to find a taxi online.

Aster held up the keys to his house. “Do not worry, I can enter, kok.”

“Stay only, in the way is danger.” Harsa whispered. Both her parents are asleep.

“Danger? What danger?” ask Adi.

“Yes, robber, motorcycle gang, so.”

“I accompany only.” Break up Adi fast. “Without magicpun, I'm quite trained martial arts.”

“Yes, I wanted to propose the three of us-”

“Neventless. You rest at home.” Cut Adi fast.

Harsa glanced at her distraught brother, but she kept her mouth shut and let him take an online taxi to Aster's house. After they left, Harsa lay in her room with her thoughts. Harsa knows that he does not know much information about Kasarewang and how Kasarewang lives. Previously, Harsa had convinced herself to better understand her brother and father. However, the shadow of his interaction with the soldiers in Drestha City and the gazes of the Drestha City residents made him restless.

Harsa could not imagine it, but Adi had said that he could live up to eight hundred years. If a hundred years had passed, or two hundred years had passed, he could have remained alive in the Material World, in Bandung, like this, quietly?

Coming home from facing Adit who does not seem to like Kasarewang, Harsa had a chance to talk about this with Erik. Therefore, he was very excited to see Drestha City. He also agreed with Kak Adi, that it was better that at least he could obtain citizenship in Kasarewang Kingdom, but…. Can he really live there?
