The Eternal War Kasarewang

The Eternal War Kasarewang
Study Tour (3)

Harsa's mouth felt dry and rough. His thump was hoarse as he answered Elis. “Disappeared? Huh huh? Whahuh? You wrongly see kali.”

“Salah see what? On the way here you and Gilda were really not on the bus. Barasa, you also see they don't exist right?”

“Umm, yes..” Says Barasa unsure. He looked at the worried Harsa.

“What happened?” Urge Elis.

“No, nothing.” Defensive reply Harsa. Harsa can't explain the formskitters and kasarewang to Elis who doesn't even believe in ghosts. No, not just that. Harsa did not want to put Elis in the danger he was in everyday. Unlike Barasa, Elis was unable to protect himself. Let alone formskitter, Elis could not defend himself.

“Not anything?” He doesn't believe.

“Yes, nothing. Let's eat.” Harsa then sat down at one of the tables in the restaurant. Gilda followed him, then Barasa and Elis were still hesitating.

Their food came shortly afterwards and the children were eating in awkwardness. Harsa was silent, and continuously avoided Elis's eyes. Because of that, their tables became mute.

Gilda who couldn't stand it started trying to open the conversation. “This meal is delicious, yes.”

“Iya, really. Her sambel makes lust.” Respond to Barasa who wants to get out of that situation as well. “You like. The gilda? I think overseas people won't like sambal.”

“Hm, honestly I don't like ‘makan’ because it's expensive, but if it's free this way I like it anyway.” Answer Gilda.

“Free? No, we will pay for this trip. So eat a lot so no loss.” Barasa.

“Oh yes... I mean..” Gilda's voice was getting smaller. “It was paid the same...”.

They waited for Gilda to finish speaking. “Eeee with my parents means.” Said Gilda. After that, Gilda gave up on rebuilding the atmosphere.

After lunch, they continued their journey.

On the bus, Barasa asked. “So, what was it? Formskitter?”

“Ya.” Harsa said limp. “But I can't tell Elis. I don't want to involve him in all this trouble.”

“I agree about it, but pity too he doesn't know himself.”

Harsa did not answer.

After almost a day and a half on the trip, they reached the island of Bali. Because it was still daytime, they did not go directly to the hotel. As per the schedule of events, they went to Tanah Lot. There, they take pictures of one generation, then freely enjoy the view until sunset. Harsa saw the view of the temple in the middle of the sea accompanied by the color of orange from the afternoon sky. A strong afternoon wind hit his face, but Harsa was unperturbed. Elis and Barasa were chatting and taking pictures. Harsa couldn't get into that excitement. His mind was wandering on Barasa's words.

Pity Elis himself of the four of them who know nothing….

At that time, Harsa just woke up. If he wanted to get closer to Elis, he would definitely have to open himself up one day. There's no way he's kept his identity as half a rambunctious to Elis his entire life. If Harsa is going to express her feelings, Elis deserves to know. This is where Harsa hesitates. Did he tell Elis everything? Since morning, that's what's in Harsa's head.

Harsa looked at Barasa and Elis who were chatting with her excitement. For the first time, Harsa did not feel jealous. He just feels tired.

“Maurung?” ask Gilda. “Because you were fighting with Elis?”

Harsa sighed. “Physis you are huge. Are you older than Adi?” ask Harsa, divert the conversation.

Gilda laughed loudly. “Yes. I'm twice as old as him.”

Harsa's eyes widened. “Uuh. Should I call you brother?”

Gilda shook her head. “Sound, dong. Make your friends."

"Yes. sigh... By the way, why did you become a soldier?"

Gilda looked at the distance as if remembering a long time ago. "I used to complain about why I wasn't born human, so I could live in peace without fearing the shadows of formskitter. But by complaining like that, I'm not going anywhere. I finally thought, with this kind of situation, would I choose to fight in an eternal war or die without fighting? I decided to fight, that's why I became a soldier." And then he added. "Do you doubt my choice because Adi's position is higher than mine? Although older and my physis is more, I appreciate Adi because he is very brave when fighting formskitter. He was not afraid of death. Because of that, his achievements are also more than mine. He was also very good at controlling his physis and setting up attack formations. Because of that, he can be chosen as vice-chairman without much protest.” Gilda's Story.

Harsa nodded. “I've often heard he's called a genius, and not really. I don't doubt your strength.”

“Are you close to Brother Adi?” ask Harsa curiously.

“Near? Yeah, maybe. We worked together a long time ago, but he was a friend. Our age difference is too lame for more than that.”

“Three hundred years..” Murmur Harsa. “Means your father is no more?”

“From once.”

“I'm sorry.” Harsa said, afraid that she would ask the same thing.

Gilda smiled. “Nothing. I told you it's been a long time.”

“Hei, guys! Come on photos of four!” barasa shouted to Harsa and Gilda who were left behind because they were busy chatting together.

Harsa forced a smile to the photo. He still hasn't spoken to Elis. She felt uncomfortable so at the dinner spot, Harsa decided to open a conversation with Elis first. Though the truth is, Harsa doesn't yet know what to say.

“Lis.” Call Harsa.

“What?”

“Yes, this afternoon you did not see wrong. I have something too. but, I can't tell you now.” Harsa was silent for a moment. “Eng. I'm not sure I can tell you too.”

Elis raised one eyebrow. “What? If you don't want to, I can't force you to tell. But honestly, I'm really curious. You and Gilda just disappeared…. Fortunately the teacher did not know. Uh, wait a minute. There's something between you and Gilda. Since she moved, you've always been close to her.”

“Hah? No.” Then Harsa changed her mind. “For example, why?”

“No, no why.” Elis said quickly and then immediately ate so that their conversation stopped there.

Harsa smiled obliquely.

Thanks to that conversation, he could be more enjoying their study tour. Beyond Harsa's expectations, they were no longer attacked by formskitters. Both that day, the next day, and their last day in Bali. Harsa is grateful she can play around to her satisfaction without being bothered by formskitters. He played until he was exhausted. Her fatigue was on par with when she was kidnapped. Harsa had never felt happy and tired like that before.

Harsa threw her tired body on their hotel bed. Harsa is one room with Barasa and another male student who has not returned. Once home at ten o'clock in the evening, Barasa takes a bath first while Harsa rests.

True my guess, it's more worth it to join the study tour. Think Harsa.

“Your smile is huge.” Comments Barasa.

“Mandi you cepet terribly.”

“Pengen cepet sleep because, not strong tired really.” Said Barasa directly lying next to Harsa.

“Soalnya really fun vacation with the cement-temen gini.” Harsa.

“Yes, do not know when else can gini.  If you've graduated, I mean.” Barasa Response. “Honestly do not need to finish anyway. This study tour. After this, we have to prepare for the exam, right? After this there will definitely be no more play time.”

“Hehe, yes. There's exam preparation. I forgot.”

“Mandi gih, slovenly know.” Tell Barasa. “Before falling asleep! Cepet!” He pushed Harsa to fall out of the bed.

“Adu, duh! Yes, yes, I took a shower!” Harper got up from the floor and took a shower.

Not to mention, in the head of Harsa, if the study of this tour has not been completed.
