The Love of Habib

The Love of Habib
Chapters 24.1

"Most of Grandpa's already told Aish everything. But there are some things you need to clarify for yourself because that is your right to her."

Seeing his grandson looking down blushed in shame, Grandfather felt amused and immediately answered the habib's question. She thought her grandson would not fall in love with the habib because Aish had a strong temperament. In addition there are external factors where Aish grew up in the city and is accustomed to the lifestyle of the people of the city. He used to think that Aish would end up with a bad guy because of his worrisome lifestyle. It must be admitted that Aira is more innocent in the city than Aish.

"So," The habib deliberately glanced at Aish with a playful expression on his face.

Aish is getting embarrassed. He didn't know where to put his hands and feet, and he was afraid that if he moved a little he would make a mistake. Um... Call it he's misbehaving. I don't know if this might be true or not.

"I'll take a drink in the kitchen. Grandpa and brother Khalid can talk first." For this reason he immediately stood up from his seat and dashed out of the living room as if he was running away from the cage of beasts.

Aish P's. O. V

Phew... I was finally able to breathe a sigh of relief after escaping from the living room. Why is it that after knowing the truth I am so ashamed to be close to Khalid's brother?

Though in the night we expressed each other feelings I was not like this - ah, it is true I am embarrassed but not as shy now. And look at the ring on the little finger of my left hand, cute and pretty. Although small, but I really appreciate this ring.

Em, this is the sincerity of Khalid's heart to me 5 years ago but it can only get to my hands now because at that time my fingers were still small.

"Grandfather has not explained to me when Habib Khalid came at that time and why did I not have any impression?" Part of the story is empty.

I'm honestly not satisfied enough. I want to hear a version of Brother Khalid. Actually it could be said to be curious, when I found out that brother Khalid himself offered to get engaged to me, I was wondering what made him decide to promise Mama and what was more amazing was, brother Khalid is still alive today. What exactly did Khalid see of me?

"This is what I will ask Brother Khalid. He would have told me. Um, O Allah... I feel like this is all a dream!"

From who my Mama is - I mean what identity she holds, to the agreement between Mama, Brother Khalid and Grandpa. Honestly, I feel like I'm getting into a drama on TV. Because this is too.it seems impossible but it really happened in my life.

"Good day, Aish? Do you need anything?"

When I entered the kitchen I was immediately greeted by Nadira.

Nadira was making ice water for the santriwati outside. Surprisingly there was no one here but him.

"Siang, I'm here to grab a drink for the guests up front." I'm ashamed to say that the guest is my grandfather.

Nadira smiled sweetly. Since she no longer thinks about Khalid's sister, I always felt that Nadira was a kind and gentle person. I hope that one day he can meet a good man who is very loving and caring to him. Just like Khalid's brother did to me.

"Oh yeah, I was going to take you there. But since you've come, you can bring it yourself. On the table near the refrigerator, there is a tray of food and drinks that Umi deliberately prepared earlier. Take it and take it to the living room." I looked in the direction that Nadira pointed.

It turned out that Umi had prepared food and drinks for Grandpa. My heart is secretly grateful.

"Thank you." Then I went there to get it.

"Em, Nadira... Do you know where Gisel and Dira are? They were here to help Umi cook, but why did after I came here they didn't exist?" This is what I wanted to ask from earlier.

Where did the two of them go?

I hope they don't leave me back to the dorms because I want to introduce them to Grandpa. In addition, I want to talk to the two of them about the past of Mama and my relationship with brother Khalid which has happened since 16 years ago. They must be very surprised to know. I'm sure they'll be hysterical with jealousy after hearing that.

"Either. Dira and Gisel go with Umi to the backyard to pick up catfish. This afternoon we will cook a lot of catfish for the dinner menu of the guests. If you want to meet them, just walk to the backyard. There's a special pond of catfish, and you'll find them both." Nadira answered with a smile that never faded from his face.

As soon as I heard the answer, I felt relieved and calm.

"No need. I think they went around so I asked. Thank goodness they helped Umi."

He laughed, "They weren't that bad. Then I'll bring drinks for the santriwati outside. If you need anything, just take it in the kitchen."

I nodded in understanding and watched him leave while carrying the ice water container in both hands.

After he left I took two more new glasses to fill with water and warm tea. Grandpa was not well so he could not drink coffee, so I filled his glass with warm tea. While brother Khalid did not like the taste of coffee and preferred to drink water, so I served both water.

While filling the water, Aira suddenly came up to me and almost made the glass in my hand fall. Fortunately I hurriedly grabbed the side of the glass so that it did not fall to the floor, but because of my rescue action, the water inside the glass half spilled onto the floor.

"Sir Aish is here too?"

I glanced at him annoyed, took a few breaths to calm the aggravation in my heart, slowly my anger disappeared.

With a bitter past I must begin to make peace. Like Grandpa said, now I'm an adult and I have to learn to think mature. Do not use the ego of a child forever. Brother Khalid also likes a patient woman, so I have to learn to be patient and calm like Nasifa or Nadira.

"Umi asked me to come help." My answer is neither cold nor soft. The point is I try not to explode in front of him.
