The Love of Habib

The Love of Habib
Chapters 6.9

Aish is not sleeping. He just put his body on the mattress to dissolve the aches on his hands and feet. And he also could not sleep even if he wanted to because all his thoughts were now overshadowed by the habib Khalid. Starting from the quarrel in the bathroom, then followed by going to the market together until home, habib Khalid had treated him well.

Oh God, I honestly have a hard time believing in love since Mom was betrayed by Dad. I once thought that my heart would never feel this feeling because my head had recorded well how painful a betrayal is. It's hard to trust someone that deep. But my Lord, the unexpected thing is that this rejection of the heart is easily broken by the presence of brother Khalid. The sweetness I felt every time I saw it had touched the deepest point of my heart. I don't know what Khalid's brother felt for me, whether it was unrequited or unrequited, I can't guess. But certainly one thing that I cannot deny when my heart has fallen too deep without me knowing. It's worth it. Mama chose to stay with Dad even though she knew that it felt unrequited. O God, You may know better if Mama does not want to go but her heart is holding her footsteps. What about me in the future?

Will everything go according to my expectations?

"Hey?" Dira lays herself on the bed with Aish.

The splinter right next to him. He set his position as comfortable as possible and began watching the ceiling of the very monotonous room up there.

"You look sad. Strange, when you looked so happy before."

Aish let out a long breath. He only thinks about his uncertain future and unknowingly links it to the tragic end of his mother. There was a fear of his own but foolishly again, he had already entered into this abyss of feeling.

"I miss Mama. Usually I would come to see him every two or three days. But now I'm in a boarding house. It's so far from our town and I can't get out that far either because the cottage won't allow it." Aish's story doesn't cover up her sadness - except about her feelings being tossed about.

Dira already knows the path of Aish's life after hearing gossip from the school children but she is not very clear as Aish rarely talks about it.

"You must miss him a lot." I don't know when Gisel's been lying down with them.

"Aish, do you still remember how your Mama looked like back then?" Dira asked looking curious.

Hearing Dira's question, Aish immediately smiled wryly. Seen her?

Perhaps those memories will never be forgotten in his lifetime if they are true, but unfortunately...

"I've never seen my Mama's real face because she died when I was two. I can only see Mama from the pictures she's left." Aish talked about it casually but in the ears of his two friends, those words sounded so pitiful.

Dira and Gisel looked at him blankly. It must have been so painful growing up without the love of a mother who had given birth to her. Losing a Father may be replaced by the role of a Mother, but the role of a Mother can never be replaced by a Father. Especially if a Father decides to bring another woman as a connecting mother, believe me, a Father's love will be diverted to the presence of the new woman. The story would be even more tragic if the woman gave birth to a child for him.

"Aish, you're a strong girl." Bisik Dira bitter.

"Hem, after all this suffering, be assured that God will send you the sweet fruit of your patience."

Aish smiled slightly and did not respond to their words.

Was she really that strong girl that Dira described?

Aish is unsure because often he will lock himself in the room to shed fatigue in his heart through a cry.

Has all this suffering really gone away?

Right, he's been kicked out of the house. This suffering should be enough, right?

Thats enough. Should enough. But maybe not enough.

The atmosphere becomes melow. They had no mood to speak anymore. I don't know, maybe their mood was infected by Aish's short, pitiful words.

Dira and Gisel suddenly recalled how pitiful they were before coming to this place. Everyone has a wound in their heart. And they are both no exception. It's just that from all those wounds, they once enjoyed the complete parental affection but not with Aish.

Her..

Not as lucky as the two of them.

...****...

In the evening everyone was busy preparing for the school exam. They immediately opened notebooks and strange books to review their knowledge. But this situation does not apply to Aish, Dira and Gisel. They tend to relax and not be too dizzy. After all, there is no point in studying hard because they do not understand at all what to learn and how to read the strange books. It would be useless if they forced themselves to learn.

"Siti, the boarding school is on holiday when it comes to exam school?" Ask Dira to Siti.

Siti closed the blue-covered book in her hand and placed it carefully in the closet.

"Yes. We take a day off at night just so we can learn well." Siti replied without raising her head.

After putting the book down, he then switched to taking his notebook to study the lessons he had carefully summarized.

"Oh, so." Dira then returned to his bed.

"You guys don't learn? We'll have a test tomorrow." The girl asked politely.

She initially moves in and one bed with Gisel. But in just one day his position was immediately replaced by Siti. Now the person who slept next to Gisel is Siti while the Girl moved to replace the previous position of Siti. Girl is very sad. Again he blamed Siti in his heart for daring to take her position.

"We still do not understand anything so teachers will not be angry if our grades will be bad." Answer Gisel lightly.

Their situation will certainly be understood by the teachers here because they have just moved here and do not understand anything about the Arabic script being deforested in every book or book.

Girls know this too. But he tried to use this opportunity to get closer to them again.

"That's.I can teach you."

Aish smiled faintly.

"no need. You're very busy. We can't bother you." Reject Aish politely.

The girl clenched her hands in shame. The expression on his face showed confusion. Well, he was confused by Aish's change in attitude towards him. It was as if Aish was keeping a distance from him.

"Aish, are you still mad that I didn't help you clean the bathroom?" This must be the reason, right?
