The Love of Habib

The Love of Habib
Chapters 10.4

Grandfather's frail body walked slowly towards them. Grandfather overheard a conversation between his wife and daughter who were planning to borrow the savings money his son-in-law had prepared first. Grandfather could not believe it from the first time he heard the aunt's words because he knew very well what the character of his daughter was. Whether Aish is a child he has long disliked, grandfather is sure his daughter will not return Aish's money if it is borrowed. Even if it was returned, grandfather was also convinced that his daughter would make it harder for Aish or might refuse to pay him straight away.

Grandfather knew and wanted to avoid this matter. Because if not, Aish might be even more dissatisfied with this family.

"Dad." Aunt snatched away scared to see grandpa.

Grandpa won't let him take Aish's money.

Grandpa looked at aunt and grandma quietly. His misty old eyes could still shine sharply at his already vulnerable age. Shame my aunt and grandmother at the same time.

"I'll never let you take Aish's savings." Grandpa said firmly.

Aunty denied, "Dad, we didn't take the savings but we wanted to borrow it."

Aunt justifies grandfather's speech.

Grandpa grunting. How could he not know what his daughter's scheming meant?

"Silent. Do you think I don't know what kind of person you are? How greedy! It was the money that his mother had put into Aish's future. You know why he did that?" Grandpa asked sharply to aunt.

Aunt didn't answer grandpa's question. Grandfather's question does not need to be answered, even if he answers, grandfather will not hear it so it is better to stay silent even though it does not feel good to be reprimanded in front of his nephew.

"That's because her mother knew this family would not give protection to her daughter. He knows you won't treat Aish well, so his mother prepares savings for Aish's future. And now you bravely want to borrow the money he had so hard-earned for Aish? Know my daughter that her mother will never give up that money until it falls into the hands of this family. He forbade you from touching his daughter's money! Then don't you understand this? Ever since you supported your brother's betrayal, his mother has banned you from everything he left to Aish."

No one can touch it, nothing. The thought of his son-in-law at that moment was already very far ahead. He had expected his daughter to lack affection, in addition to everyone, and be treated much worse than Father's second daughter. Mama Aish expected it.

Therefore when Mama Aish can still think clearly, she immediately sold all her assets and prepared a number of savings for Aish. For Aish's future growing up without her having seen.

Aunt's face paled. Not only were the aunts uncomfortable with grandfather's words, but everyone here was also uncomfortable. The betrayal of the past, this is a gap of wounds that have been underestimated by families. Though Aish was never okay when he learned of the betrayal his father's family committed to his mother.

Aish feels sick but unfortunately cannot hate because this is his family too.

"Dad, I'll definitely return it..." Said aunty weakly.

Grandpa snorted and simply stuffed his daughter's words into his left ear and out of the right ear.

"Don't try, you can't mess with Aish's life anymore because she's not alone. If you dare to disturb him, believe me that person will be very angry. It's been enough all this time Aish suffered in this house...." Now that he has returned to his rightful place, then...

"You can't bother him anymore."

Grandpa closed his eyes tired. He had only spoken for a moment but his emotions seemed to have drained away.

"Ohuk..." Grandfather raised his hand and held his chest.

"Is grandpa okay?" I don't know since when Aira was standing next to grandfather.

Grandfather opened his misty eyes and only realized everyone had surrounded him.

Their faces were worried. They are worried about the condition of the grandfather who has been fit again since a few weeks. Perhaps. more precisely grandfather has been like this since Aish left this house.

"I'm fine.." Reply grandfather weakly.

"Dad doesn't seem to be feeling well. You better get in the room to rest so that Dad's body is more comfortable." Aunt said worriedly.

Aunty felt guilty seeing Grandpa sick for talking to him. He was probably angry because he thought grandfather was too organized, but when he saw the pained expression of grandfather, the thought immediately disappeared from his head. He did not care about money anymore because the most important thing now was the condition of grandfather.

"Well, break in the room." Grandpa said in a daze.

Afraid of anything happening with grandfather again, they immediately carried grandfather away without realizing grandfather's dazed gaze.

Grandfather raised his head to look at the sky that stretched far away there. His heart trembled and longed for the Almighty, but there was a slight sense of aversion and hope in his calm heart.

O my Lord, when it is time, I will not be able to escape from Your decree. I have no desire for this world except that day, Lord. The day that my grandson brings his happiness, let me meet that day, my Lord. Let me see my beloved grandson happy, the grandson I have raised above my own daughter. My Lord, please tell me...

...****...

Everyone was tense seeing the situation of grandfather before. Their hearts were hung with all sorts of negative thoughts that made the hearts restless. Only after the doctor made sure there was nothing wrong with the grandfather did their anxiety all slowly subside.

The atmosphere of the house is calm and relaxed again.

"Mother, is it true that Mama Aish left behind a lot of savings?" Ask Aira to Mommy.

Aira immediately wondered how much of Aish's savings caused her aunt and uncle to be tempted to borrow. It even made Grandpa very angry earlier.

Mother folds dry eavesdroppers in her hands and puts them on a shelf.

"True, her mother has left her savings for your sister's future." Answer Mother gently.

This news he had known 15 years ago and had caused a commotion at home because the money was not small. Many families want to borrow it but Dad still firmly maintain it because this is a direct mandate from Mama Aish that should not be contested.

Aira blinked lightly,"How much, Bun?

Must be a lot. If not, aunty might not dare to think about it. Inner Aira guessed.
