Finding You, Again

Finding You, Again
Us 14 - Matter and Unexpected

"That's not nice" I said, tiredly.

A gun was pointed right between my eyes, as soon as we met.

Oscar who was not at all disturbed and still looked at me with a murderous gaze.

"Give me one reason, why I'm not blowing your head off right now" he hissed, with gritted teeth, unscrewing his gun as he prepared to fire.

"I can give you three. First, you won't be able to blow my head off with that gun, my bones are harder than humans. Second, as soon as you pull the trigger, then El who is now in the car will break your neck. And third, we both know, you're gonna have a hard time explaining to Bee how I died when I met you"

Oscar's eyes glared at me. All my reasons are reasonable, he can't just haphazardly pull the trigger.

" Sometimes I forget you're not human". After a while, Oscar finally gave up and sheathed his gun back.

I will not be angry with his actions.

I fully understand the reason for his anger, everyone would not be willing if his family members had to be involved in danger.

Especially for an overprotective person like Oscar. I have to be thankful that he didn't shoot for a while, even if it wouldn't kill me, the gunshot wound to the head would still be painful.

"We must hurry, your arrival must not attract attention" I gestured for him to follow me.

With a flick of his hand, Oscar told Alex who was on standby in the car to leave, then he walked after me.

"You've received the potion from Alva? Drink now. Once you get to the pack, your scent should be gone" I opened the camping car door that would take us to the pack.

"We're gonna use this ?" Oscar asked in surprise as he looked around the room in the camping car.

"I'll explain later. Now the most important thing is that you drink a potion from Alva" I cut off her curiosity, firmly.

Peeking in annoyance, Oscar grabbed something from his coat pocket. A glass bottle measuring about 500 ml - containing a green liquid that looks toxic - was placed on the table. For a moment he looked at the bottle skeptically.

I see, I would also doubt if it was in his position.

The liquid looked like weed juice mixed with mud. The color is a little different from the fragrance-busting herb I used to drink, but I guess the taste won't be much different.

In one breath Oscar drank the liquid. His eyes instantly narrowed, and the flow of the potion slightly faltered due to the unsavory taste.

"If you're just making up about drinking this potion, I'll kill you twice!!" threaten him, while panting after finished drinking it.

That means my guess was correct, the taste of the potion was indeed as bad as usual.

Slowly the smell of Oscar began to disappear. The potion from Alva never fails. The other werewolves won't be able to smell the human scent of Oscar's body.

But it took a little more potion to wipe my nose. I can still smell the trees and cheese from him.

The dose that Oscar takes will hide its aroma for two days. I hope it's enough time.

After that Oscar just stood still and looked out the window, maybe to just enjoy the view.

Or maybe it was because he had run out of swear words that he could throw at me. Whatever the reason I am so grateful, at least the rest of this journey will take place quietly.

But that calmness did not last long. The sleepiness that began to strike was forcibly beheaded by Oscar with his questions.

"We've entered the pack territory?" He pointed to the tower building that became the limit of the guarding pack.

I nodded "That's the guard tower. Not very useful, because whatever comes, we can already smell the aroma first, rather than see it" I explained while yawning widely.

It's almost midnight. My sleepiness is unbearable. These few days, I ran in the woods at night because I was too restless and could not sleep.

Bee's laughter and the smell that filled Manor kept me awake. Having super senses is so annoying at times like that.

"What building is that?" asked Oscar again, pointing at the large building shaped like a stadium, which stood firmly next to the entrance pack.

"The main hall, we organized a ceremony and some events that need the presence of pack occupants there"

"Is that a hospital?" Oscar pointed to the whitewashed building, with an enthusiastic tone that he could not stand.

I nodded, starting to be lazy to explain. I don't like being an impromptu tour guide.

"It's like a town in the woods, do you have your own power plant?" Still curious, Oscar did not stop asking.

And once again I nodded.

"Geothermal power plant. We can actually see well without the lights, but some of the equipment of the modern world would not be able to function without electricity, especially equipment in hospitals. That's why we ended up building a self-help power plant". I explained half-heartedly.

Oscar nodded his head at my answer.

His eyes looked out the window. He looked like a boy when he first went to the amusement park. Enthusiastic and curious. Very different from the eyes of someone who pointed a gun a moment ago.

We arrived at the mansion in the middle of the night. I told some guards to get out of the way tonight, but I kept worrying.

I almost dragged Oscar so we could get into Manor soon.

But the sound of footsteps behind me made me stop. I won't run, because it's more suspicious. And from the side of Manor, my beloved great-grandfather appeared together with Amon.

"You and your father are very similar, even about something like this. But at least you disguised the smell. You're a little smarter than your father" he said, staring intently at Oscar.

"Thanks for the compliment. But I'm a little busy right now. I don't have time to deal with the nonsense" In response to the abuse now, it's just a waste of time, I've brought Oscar here.

"You will lose your title as Alpha if you continue to defend the human Mate" he said lowly, warning.

"And I guess that's good news for me, so I don't need to be here!!"

"You threw away your birthright for a sickly human being?" His tone began to rise with anger.

I could feel Oscar who was beside me moving forward. But I held it by hand.

"Yes, I'll throw it away. Because as you know, I wouldn't function well as a werewolf without him!!" I shouted while panting.

The emotions I had endured these few days exploded.

"We shouldn't have to debate this anymore, if only you could believe that Bee was my Mate. But since you chose not to believe, I will not force. That's why you can replace me with anyone, if you can!!" challenge me with rage.

Replacing Alpha or Scion is almost impossible, because it means asking for the approval of the entire pack. I'll see how he can do it.

Since there was nothing more to say, then I walked away leaving him towards the Manor, while adjusting my breath to no longer pant.

I really wanted to open the old man's brain to become more understanding about my problem. But all we do every time we meet is fight. It's vexing.

"You didn't handle that with the Duke. Challenging him like that wasn't a smart move." El spoke for the first time tonight.

"I knew. But I believe the members of this pack will not tarnish their respect for my father. I saw how much they loved Dad at his funeral yesterday. I'll trust their love for you"

If it's true that they're willing to replace me with someone else, it means that all the pack's citizens are tarnishing my father's name. Nor do I wish to be an Alpha to a pack that has tarnished my father's honor. Voluntarily I will leave.

"You owe me a lot of explanation. I know you never lie, but you obviously didn't tell me everything. Especially the matter about your mate and department. In London yesterday I did not ask for an explanation. But hearing the old man's insolent mouth earlier, I knew Lui was involved in a big thing. So now you have to start explaining to me, or I'll take Lui home by force"

Oscar's demanding tone sounded very intimidating. He was sitting on the couch in my office.

Oscar looked at me and prepared to listen to the story. He didn't want to hear the repellent, his eyes kept following every detail of my movements.

I took a heavy breath, knowing that I had no other way but to tell him everything.

"I'll warn you, everything I'm telling you isn't for you to share with anyone, not even Bee. Understood?!"

Oscar just nodded. So I started to tell him what exactly happened in full. Starting from why I could die, and then what was behind the attack on Bee in the woods a few days ago, and mate.

Throughout my story, Oscar listened without much comment. Sometimes his forehead was cluttered thinking hard.

"So this all happened because you chose Lui to be your mate?" tanyanya, summed up my long story.

I could see Oscar's face slowly becoming more sinister out of anger.

"No, you're wrong. I didn't choose. I didn't even know that mate was the real thing until a few months ago. It's just destiny" I explained slowly.

"Destiny my foot.....!!" oscar muttered, smiling cynically. My words certainly sound like a fairy tale to him.

"So Lui would have no choice but to be with you?" tanyanya.

I nodded with a little doubt.

"You doubt!!" he said, a second after I nodded.

How could he know?

"Well, the only example of mate I met was a werewolf. They're both werewolves. I was a little doubtful whether the things related to that mate would still apply to me and Bee, since Bee is human" I explained, reluctantly.

"What makes you so sure that Bee is your mate? You could be wrong" he said, without feeling.

I chose to answer it and swallowed back my words "I lost my werewolf skills when Bee erased my memories of me. I'm almost human"

"But Bee's fine" he argued.

"What part do you call good? He lost his memory for almost 3 years of his life" El replied indignantly without being held back.

He looks a little angry at Oscar.

Oscar looked at El sharply. "That's a good thing, because if he still remembers David, I'm sure he won't be alive now" Oscar said aloud.

"And, you still can't believe they're mate. You just said it with your own mouth, Lui wouldn't be able to live without Duke" El gasped a little as he said it.

"I'm very curious how Lui will behave this time, if you know you're forbidding her from meeting Duke, I'm sure she'll hate you for life" he added, El can be very brutal if he wants to.

I'm not too sure how Bee will behave. If a few days ago Oscar wanted to take her home, I'm sure Bee would be happy to be away from me.

"Your meeting only brought bad luck to Lui. If you don't show up, he doesn't need to get involved with the current world of beasts" Oscar said with a slight murmur.

I think El's argument is starting to make sense for him, because now it's a waste to find another way, to get out of the inhumane circle.

"Yes that must be. Her life would have been easier if Bee hadn't met me 3 years ago. But I never chose that to happen. It's just happen" I'm starting to feel frustrated.

"That's not true Duke. Lui wouldn't even have a life, if she hadn't met you. Lui will die when doctors decide to remove her life support two years ago" El said.

"Lui would not have been able to come to his senses without the help of Alva, while Alva is part of our world. You agreed that Lui would be part of our world, once you decided to accept Alva's help. Is it with this fact that you still regret Lui's involvement with our world? If your answer is yes, then you're not as smart as people say!"

El looked at Oscar right in the face as he said all that.

El then gave me a denouncing glance, because I seemed resigned to accepting the Oscar charges. But I could never think clearly when I faced Oscar and Bee. They both make me a little stupid.

I began to believe that Oscar was also very adept at manipulating other people's minds, or at least mine.

Oscar got up from his seat then chose to look out. I doubt he did it to enjoy the view. Because the garden outside is now pitch dark.

"I just want Lui to have a quiet life without any ripples. There's been a lot of bad things happening to him. Even before he was born" Oscar still turned his back on us as he said that. But the bitter tone is very obvious.

"What do you mean?". Bee never told us in detail the circumstances of his family, if indeed the topic was irrelevant to our conversation.

"Don't you ever wonder why Lui's life is so skewed towards ballet? Why was there anything in his life before he retired, there was only ballet?" oscar asked, after turning to face me and El, but his eyes were not focused. It seems like Oscar is drowning in his own memories.

I'm nodding. "Once, at the beginning we were together. But isn't ballet the call of his soul?"

"Indeed, but I'm not.ah! We narrowed Lui's world to ballet. Me and My Mom" she said in a sad tone.

"Why?" I was a little surprised to hear his confession. I didn't think Bee's interest in ballet didn't come naturally.

Don't want Bee? What kind of madman doesn't want a Bee? I held the curse that was already on the tip of my tongue. Because that's not for Oscar.

If I knew Belva Delmora, then their father-Daniel Delmora-was a stranger to me. And I have absolutely no information about him. I just know he's a jerk for once deciding to unplug Lui's life support while she was in a coma.

Bee only mentioned it a few times during our time together. And I didn't ask any further, because I didn't want to tell you about my family's condition either. I hated my father at that time.

"I have a story for you, do you want to hear it?"

That's a rhetorical question, because without me answering, Oscar would still be telling the story.

But El and I were polite.

Oscar finally sat back on the sofa opposite me. He leaned all his weight on the sofa.

"The Delmora family is a very old family. I've been investigating and discovering our family history dating back more than 100 years"

Oscar looked at me to find a surprised face. But it's not new news for me, of course I didn't react.

Oscar smiled faintly at the minimal reaction, then realized that I had found out about his family's secret. He continued his story as if it were not disturbed.

"After my father and mother got married, they did not immediately have children. That is very worrying, because the most important thing for Delmora is the successor to continue the existence of our family. After 5 hard years for my mother, because she had to face the support of her father's family, my mother finally got pregnant"

"Then came the boy, as the much-anticipated successor. They are both happy. But 6 years later something that neither of them had ever expected, happened. My mom's back in pregnancy" Oscar took a deep breath.

"My father did not want the pregnancy, because the second child was burdened. And according to my father, I already have everything he wants as a successor. He told my mom to abort".

Officially already, I hate Bee's father!

"My mother was against my decision. At that time I was only 6 years old, but still stuck in my memory, how the quarrel happened. The scale of the fight was so incredible, it made me keep remembering it. My mother, who usually never denied any of my father's decisions, fought tenaciously. After my mother's gestational age of a few months, my father finally gave up and let it go"

I raised an eyebrow to express astonishment, for it was impossible for a decision to be taken without cause.

"Because he doesn't think it's important." Oscar laughed softly and discordantly.

"After Lui was born, my mother and I were overjoyed, she was the most beautiful little baby I had ever seen. I loved him unconditionally. But my father's attitude hasn't changed, he still doesn't care about anything related to Lui"

"Why? Didn't he already accept "I'm surprised again.

"Because of me!" A very bitter tone was heard in Oscar's reply.

"I have everything he wants as the successor of the family. Clever, with a beautiful face, deft and skillful speaking. I took all of Lui's father's attention"

He praised its advantages with a dislike tone. It's like it's a sin to have all that.

"My father was a very practical and cold person, he would only ruthlessly throw away things that he did not need. Be it a subsidiary, a company or anything, including Lui. When Lui was born, my father did not come to the hospital at all. He didn't feel the need. Lui grew up just with the affection of Mom and me".

I've never met Bee's father, but I'm not sure I can greet him kindly when we meet. Because right now, I want to separate his head from the rest of the body he is attached to.

How could she ignore her biological child as if Bee was an unused piece of trash?

"Mom and I fought very hard to close the hole left by the absence of my father's affection. I watered it with all the attention and affection I had. Mom introduces Lui to ballet. Activities that will be very time-consuming, so you will not realize the state of the world that is running around you. We were both relieved, as Lui turned out to be very talented as well and fell in love with ballet easily. Mom makes sure Lui is always busy, and her world is just gushing out on ballet, so won't realize my dad is always being indifferent to her"

Oscar took a deep breath again.

"We succeeded. Lui is not at all concerned with what is happening in the world other than ballet. He didn't realize how my father didn't care about his life. At performances or graduation and competitions, Mom always gave a reasonable reason for my father's absence there. We wrapped Lui's world perfectly"

"You mean you make her a naive girl, and accept things without thinking or asking. You let her be the glass girl, who'll break, even if it's just scratched. You make her really vulnerable," I said, correcting her sentence.

I know they're well-intentioned, but Belva and Oscar's overprotecting attitude, makes Bee a less perceptive girl, and too innocent.

Oscar smiled wryly at my conclusion of an indisputable fact.

One of my questions was answered. I used to be so astonished, how could there be someone so innocent and naive as Bee? Especially when you know the background of Bee who comes from a wealthy and respected family. A little impossible combination in my opinion.

The rich girl I know, usually has a disgusting spoiled nature. Not all of course, but most of the.

"If you said so, but that's all we can think of to keep Lui unharmed. You know, my dad really never talked to him before he was 8? It was just a few words. I can't imagine how Lui would feel, if she knew what's really on my mind"

The denial of existence is very cruel. I was a little bit offended by the way Oscar covered up his father's rot from Bee. But Oscar's right, I also don't know how Bee would react, if he knew his father never wanted him to exist, it's too cruel.

Bee's father was more violent than I thought he was. I'll never let her get close to Bee at any time.

"You know what it is after. Charlie bravely opposed it. At that moment, I declared war on my father. I can't forgive him anymore, it's the second time he's going to kill Lui. After that, I took all the power in his hands and drove him out of London. You didn't realize it was possible, but it was around the time you brought Alva."

Oscar said furiously and clenched his hands tightly.

"How can you overthrow your father's power? All this time I thought it happened naturally, your father did want to resign and rest" I became curious now.

"Because that's what we announced to the outside. And I got some rocks from some of my mother's family, while doing it" he replied, in a very subtle tone of disdain. A sign that he does not want to explain this further.

"I was so grateful when you came with Alva. I've been imagining the worst, if my father had managed to carry out his decision." Oscar shuddered in horror.

My hair is also bristling. I don't know if that time, it could be Bee's end.

After I argued with the doctor br*ngs*k it\, I was in the process of seeking Alva's help. I know if a human doctor can't handle it\, then a doctor who is a witch is the right choice to help Bee.

It took me a little while to persuade Alva, especially since I was the Scion of Blackmoon. He no longer wanted to be in touch with the inhumane world, helping a scion, obviously one of the criteria related to inhumane.

I pleaded without shame and tirelessly to her. After about two weeks of keeping me busy, she finally gave up. Alva said she was willing to help, because she wanted to see who the woman who managed to get me on my knees begged her.

The werewolves, famous for their arrogance and rugged nature, would not usually plead easily. He wanted to see if the thing I was fighting for was worth what I was doing.

And when I came back, I heard from Charlie that Oscar had been CEO of Delmor Corp. At that time I was a little unconcerned about what was happening, so I heard it in passing. After knowing what drama was behind it I was a little shaken.

But from the Oscar story, I finally know what the source of the sister complex is. I'll try to be more tolerant with Oscar's paranoid attitude after this.

"I just want a quiet life for Lui, she deserves it more than anyone in our family. I don't want him to live a life like this, David"

I heard a faint pleading tone.

"I'm sorry, but if Bee's wish is to leave me, then I'll just accept it. But I'll never let go of Bee before that happens, because it'll be the same as telling me to die!"

El agreed. He's satisfied I didn't just rip apart Oscar's request.

"But I understand all your worries. I promise you, if Bee chooses me, I'll make her the happiest woman in the world. Remember that!" added with certainty.

He will see impeccably unanimous determination. And he would know for sure because of his strange ability.

Oscar looked at me carefully, and then nodded. Then he lifted both of his legs onto the sofa, and began to close his eyes.

"I'll take you to one of the rooms, you don't need to sleep here" I'm surprised to see his suddenly relaxed attitude.

"Just give me some blanket, I'm so tired and tired right now. I don't want to move my feet anywhere anymore" he replied, still with his eyes closed.

Well, if that's what you want.

I showed her the light switch if she wanted to turn it off, then went to pick up the blanket by being followed by El.

"I will stand guard in front" El said slowly after we got outside the door. I nodded, this must be done considering my meeting with Victor earlier.

I don't want him to do anything to Oscar.

"Call Dey or Id if you're tired" I said slowly. El nodded in understanding and passed away.

---------- *0o0*----------------

Tonight's a little shit!

I slept too fast, because Myra said, Oscar's coming tomorrow.

I just wanted to see Oscar, but now I'm waking up in the morning. I glanced at the wall clock that was lit in the dim light of a sleeping light, currently at 2:30 am.

Not a good time to wake up Lui, I grumbled in my heart.

Ceklek..!!

The sound of the door handle being turned made my heart seem to fly in surprise. With a reflex I pulled the blanket over my face. A human figure walked slowly into my room.

It's Duke....!!!

I cannot see clearly from under the thin blanket, but I will recognize the towering figure of the body everywhere.

From under the covers, I saw her step towards the bathroom door, which was a few meters away on the left side of the bed and then disappear inside.

I opened my blanket, then turned back to the bathroom door. I held my breath with my heart beating.

I'm not ready to face Duke now. I wasn't as scared as when I first saw her a few days ago, but I couldn't stop goosebumps, every time I remembered what happened when she turned into a wolf.

Duke's footsteps were heard again. He's out of the bathroom!!

I closed my eyes tightly, it was too late to pull the blanket now.

There was the sound of something sliding, maybe a closet door. I didn't hear any sound for a while, but I'm sure he's still in the room.

Then what I was afraid of happened, the slow sound of Duke's footsteps approached the bed.

I closed my eyes tighter and tried to calm the now pounding heart. A gentle swipe on the cheek, almost made me jump. But I managed to hold back and did not move at all.

Duke's handprints, leaving a warm taste on my cheek. I have to admit, if that touch makes me comfortable. The warmth continued to spread to the tip of my foot, within a split second.

"I'm sorry Bee! I made you have nightmares" Duke whispered softly and softly.

His voice was heavy and hoarse, sounding sad. That thing made me open my eyes and embrace her warmly, so that she would be entertained. But of course it's not the right thing to do.

His hand still rubbed my cheek as he said it. My heart which I could not calm at all, twisted my chest in a level I never imagined.

With a heavy breath, Duke stroked my shoulder and finally stepped away. My heart is racing at an alarming level right now.

The sound of the door closing carefully, did not immediately make me breathe a sigh of relief. What if he's still inside?

After a while, I didn't hear any sound. Except for the embers lying in the fireplace, I turned around. The room was empty.

My heart slowed after realizing that. My body also went back to softening, but the warmth still lingered.

I held the cheek where Duke touched me earlier. And without being able to bear it, I suddenly smiled very widely and felt happy.

I must be out of my mind. Especially now that a strange sense of comfort began to creep into my heart.

Did he apologize for scaring me? if so, that's so sweet!!

My brain is losing control.

What are you doing Lui? This was not the attitude of someone who had just been touched by a monster!! Hardik my heart warns.

Yeah--that's right. I shouldn't be happy when Duke touches me, or apologizes sweetly.

But he called me Bee just now, what does that mean?

And I must be crazy, because I have absolutely no objection to the call, as if it were my name for a long time.

If I had wished I could sleep again, now that would be impossible. I'll be awake till morning now. There was no way I would fall asleep after such a thrilling incident.
