CHAPTER 12: Kanaya Custody Issues

"Yes ...."

A woman suddenly called out her name and hugged her tightly when she just arrived home. The woman who knew who she was, hugged Gisel quite tightly, and sounded like she was crying.

"I'm sorry Aunt Lia, yes. Auntie doesn't know you almost drowned in the pool. Bagas just told Aunt yesterday. Therefore, Auntie flew right here from Singapore this morning."

The woman let go of her embrace and looked at Gisel's face while holding his face.

"You're okay, right? Bagas said you forgot a lot of things. Oh my God, Kanaya ..."

The woman hugged him again. "God is so much like you. So many trials that you have to accept, dear ...," cried the woman.

After Tika, now comes Aunt Lia, a stranger who hugs Gisel without her permission. It seemed like Gisel had to learn to surrender while being hugged by an unknown person. Especially when she was still Kanaya, there would be no matter how many more people would hug her after this.

"I'm ... it's okay ...," said a bewildered Gisel deciding whether he should hug the woman who calls herself Aunt Lia, or leave her two arms open.

Dahlia Pramudya, or what Kanaya usually calls Aunt Lia is the younger sister of her mother Kanaya. She is married to a Singaporean man, and has lived there all along.

Since Emma, her brother died, she has always tried to get custody of Kanaya, but has always failed.

"Something that was on Emma's mind back then, to the point that she gave Clara her trust to take care of you rather than me her brother," said Aunt Lia who looked very upset.

"I mean aunty?" asked Gisel.

Aunt Lia sighed slowly.

"Before she died, Emma wrote a will. She wants Clara to marry Farhan to be your surrogate mother. And whatever happens one day, he wants your guardianship rights to be held by Clara. Therefore, no matter how hard aunty tries to get custody of you always fails because the court holds to Emma's last wishes."

"So so ...," said Gisel lirih.

"Emma not only made it his last will, but also validated it through a notary and lawyer. Therefore, his position is indisputable."

Another one of Kanaya's family drama puzzles is collected by Gisel to complete other puzzle pieces. Although it is quite strange for Gisel, but this oddity that binds Kanaya in a relationship called family by Clara.

The question is, for what? Gisel believes Clara has another agenda in her plan.

"But Bagas said, you don't want to prolong that pool problem. You don't be like this, Aya. What he did included crime. Do not tolerate such actions. He almost killed you," Aunt Lia said again.

Gisel only nodded his head once. Gisel thinks Aunt Lia wrongly guessed that she thought she was such a good person. He was just waiting for the right time to use all of that to attack them. Or maybe, to protect himself from them.

Another thing that feels different is Nabila. Ever since she got home from school, Gisel hasn't seen her, not even at dinner. Gisel did not know if Nabila was avoiding him or if he was really sick.

But seeing Clara who is fairly calm if her favorite child is really sick, it feels like Nabila just wants to avoid Gisel.

After finishing chatting with Aunt Lia, Gisel returned to her room on the grounds of completing her schoolwork. In fact, he wanted to find out more about Skylar's megaproject.

Problem after problem that came recently made Gisel could not stop thinking calmly that something was trying to mess up this project. Either way, Gisel had a hard time figuring out because he was not the person he normally could freely go in and out of Skylar easily.

The worst-case scenario that Gisel could predict is that the UK government will cancel the cooperation project. And that would mean a major disaster for Skylar.

"Kanaya! Can't you just stay in my body? Instead of you just staying in there," Gisel said to himself as if scolding Kanaya.

Gisel began to open page after page containing news about Skylar with Kanaya's laptop. After a while, one of the headlines caught his attention.

"Skylar Corp CEO's News Is Experiencing Coma. Is Right?"

Although it was written as if this was a rumor, but Gisel knew this was the beginning. Someone's trying to shake Skylar.

Gisel immediately grabbed his phone to contact Adit. He was the only person who could be asked for information at this moment.

"Dad? Tumben called the clock this way?" asked Adit from the other end.

"Adit ... did Mr. Rendi say anything ... about today's news?," asked Gisel.

"Well, Aya .. You really followed everything, huh? There he is, recently papa told me about the leak of information about the mother Gisella who was in a coma. This should not be known to many."

"Has the solution been found?" asked Gisel again.

Adit's right. Mr. Rendi is just a field executive, not a management executive. This kind of business should not be the authority of Mr. Rendi. But, where else would Gisel get the information?
