CHAPTER 54: Death Call from Corens

Gisel tries to hide everything he thinks from Rey's sight. He doesn't want Rey to know whatever it is that Gisel will plan for his body. Hearing all the rejections, Gisel was sure, Rey would also definitely try to thwart him.

Even as they gather in Rey's meeting room, Gisel tries to be as normal as possible.

"I don't see Om and Auntie. Are they all right?" asked Gisel to Rey. "Don't they mind us all here."

Rey, who was pulling up a chair next to Gisel, said, "Papa is having a business meeting abroad. Mama accompanied. If it was you, they never mind."

Rey's right. They were very happy whenever they saw Gisel visiting his house. In that place, Gisel was always warmly welcomed. But, that's if he looks like Gisel, not as Kanaya. Even the servants that Gisel had met earlier, they kept whispering every time he passed them.

"Are you okay, Gi? Already mendingan? Rey said last night you had a fever" said Satrio looking at Gisel with dismay.

Gisel tried to calm her down by smiling. "I'm okay, Om. Rey's doctor's medicine is great. I'm better now."

Satrio smiled with relief hearing that. "Thank God then. Bagas is now handling Clara. Rafael is still in search. Rey's bodyguard helped. Don't you worry."

Gisel didn't say anything. He just nodded his head. "I'm not worried about Rafael" Gisel said. "I'm sure, right now Corens is dealing with it. He doesn't need Rafael. Somehow Corens will solve it."

The atmosphere in the room then became quiet. Without having to say much, everyone in the room agreed with Gisel. The Corens plan has failed. Clara is caught, while Rafael goes missing somewhere. It's clear, Corens will handle that Rafael.

Gisel returns to silence as Rey and Satrio talk to each other about last night's events. Some things Gisel can hear, but some others seem inaudible because Gisel is more focused on other parts. In his head right now there was only the conversation between Rey and Risa that he had just listened to. She had just been thinking about hiding it from Rey.

"You're all right? Is anyone sick?" asked Rey suddenly.

Gisel was quite surprised by Rey's question. How not? His mind was floating somewhere.

"I'm fine" replied Gisel briefly.

Drrt ...

Suddenly, Gisel's phone shook. A call from a number he doesn't recognize.

"Who?" asked Rey after she peeked at Gisel's phone screen.

Gisel shook his head. He also raised both of his shoulders which signified that he also did not know who.

"Hello" said Gisel as he answered the call.

"Hello, Gisella ..."

Both of Gisel's eyes immediately widened. He knows whose voice it is.

"Corens ...," call Gisel down.

Rey who was sitting next to Gisel heard Gisel's words. He was surprised to hear it. Time and again he beckoned Gisel to turn on his phone speaker. But Gisel didn't bully him.

"What do you want, Corens?" asked Gisel.

"Meet me" answered Corens briefly.

"For what?"

"We're gonna make a deal."

Gisel snorted cynically. "Don't make me laugh. There doesn't need to be any deal. You still need me for all your plans."

"But my plan has just changed. You don't want to know?," asked Corens in a seductive tone.

But, Gisel did not answer anything, he just quietly waited for Corens to answer him himself.

"Did you know? One of your councils agreed to cooperate with me" Corens said on his own.

Gisel remained speechless listening to the information, though in his head kept asking, "Who?"

"He's going to make your councilors know where you are right now" Corens continued.

Both of Gisel's eyes were wide.

"really. I'm with you right now. Thanks to one of your bodyguards."

When Gisel opened it, he saw a picture of his body lying down. Beside him, Corens was posing very happily.

"Surprise!," Corens wrote in his message.

Rey who was beside him, when he saw the photo immediately grabbed Gisel's phone. He immediately activated the speaker. Gisel did not argue in the slightest even though he had not discussed Rey's request earlier.

"My request was easy. Come and meet me. Make sure you come alone, Miss Gisella. We're gonna talk about what's gonna keep you alive" Corens continued on the phone. "And it could be, it would also protect both your parents."

And the call just ended.

Rey who had been holding back her anger earlier, now she started saying something, "You're coming?"

Gisel was silent for a moment. He seemed to be thinking of something.

"He threatened to use my parents, Rey," Gisel said.

"I'll send my bodyguards to pick up Om and Auntie. You don't worry about them" Rey replied to Gisel's concerns.

"But that's not what I think."

Gisel looked back at the table in front of him with a blank look. His mind was filled with all the questions in his head.

"Where is that photo? It doesn't seem like a hospital. I've never seen him" Gisel asked Rey and Satrio in front of him.

"That's ..." Satrio seemed to want to say something. He looked at Rey doubtfully.

"I asked for it, Gi. After the doctor incident at that time, and after I found out about your condition from Risa, I decided to protect your body from the dangers that might arise afterwards. Therefore, I asked for Om and Aunt's approval to take your body to safety" Rey explained.

"Om also know about this?" Gissel's view now turns to Satrio.

"Y-yeah, Gi. That place was Skylar's K warehouse as well. Rey remodeled it so you could be comfortable there" Satrio replied.

"K warehouse location is very remote. Therefore, the warehouse was rarely used. How did Corens find it?" thought Gisel.

Rey patted Gisel on the shoulder as soon as she saw the look on Gisel's face that turned quite serious. "Do you suspect anything?" asked Rey.

Gisel shook his head.

"You don't worry. My bodyguard will get your body out of there. You don't have to see Corens" Rey said.

"No, Rey. I still have to come" replied Gisel briefly which further added to Rey's annoyance.

"Gi!"

Satrio and Rey yelled at Gisel's name almost simultaneously.

"I want to know what he wants from me" Gisel continued.

This time, neither Satrio nor Rey commented in response to Gisel's words.

"He could have killed me right now. But he didn't. He asked me to come. It means he wants something from me. Since he threatened me with using both of my parents, it also meant that he wanted me to agree to a deal that was whatever it was."

"So .. rather than me dying without knowing anything, I would rather come and listen to his own request" Gisel said.

Rey sat down while holding her forehead. He massaged her gently, a sign she was already unable to find a reason to hold Gisel back.

"Moreover ..."

Gisel wanted to continue with that sentence. But then he held her back. He noticed Satrio and Rey who were currently looking at him.

"It's okay. There was nothing" said Gisel.

Gisel recanted his intention. He thought of something from Rey and Risa's conversation as well.

"Corens seemed to know that if anything happened to my body, I would die. That means, the conversation between Rey and Risa only happens between them. If I want to go back, I have to come and make sure that Corens kills me himself" Gisel thought.
