CHAPTER 37: Intrigue in the Detention Room

As Rey said yesterday, the call for Gisel came this morning while she was in class. On the bright side, Gisel was happy to miss the IPA lesson.

The long night did not affect Gisel today. When he woke up, his violent feelings that all night kept him awake now seemed to have disappeared somewhere.

His conversation with Rey last night made his heart quite calm. He knew what to do, therefore there was no burden at all as he stepped into the detention room.

When Gisel entered the detention room, there was Vienna sitting next to his father and another man. Vienna, as usual, was acting in tears with the handkerchief she held always used to wipe her tears.

While nearby standing, there was the Headmaster Mother and Rey sitting in front of a table. That's where Gisel will be questioned.

The moment Gisel saw Rey, what flashed through his head the first time was his memory of last night. She suddenly remembers the perfume Rey wore last night. Gisel immediately dissolved his thoughts.

"Focus, Gi!," he snapped inwardly scolding himself.

When the Headmaster's mother asked him, Gisel looked at the man who was with Vienna and his father. Regardless of the Headmaster Mother's question, Gisel directly pointed towards the man.

"Who is that father?"

Everyone's gaze was on the man Gisel pointed at, then turned again to Gisel.

"If that's what I know, it's definitely Vienna. But what if it is?" he asked again.

"He's lawyer. He'll determine whether or not you lied when questioned by Principal Mother."

Viennese father looks so confident when introducing his lawyer. Maybe he wanted to show how strong he was in this matter.

But, Gisel was clearly not afraid of such a threat.

"I also want to be accompanied by a lawyer."

Instantly the room became quiet. They were clearly stunned by Gisel's request. But then, the sound of his father's laughter filled the detention room that was not how spacious it was.

"Who do you think you asked for a lawyer? You're just a witness. Vienna is the victim. Haha ..."

Amidst the sound of laughter that did not also subside, the door of the room opened abruptly.

"Because he's a minor."

The arrival of Bagas suddenly made the Headmaster Mother surprised. He even stood up from his seat. Not only was the Principal's Mother, Vienna and the two men with her also shocked.

Gisel knew Vienna would definitely bring the same man as yesterday. He was sure the man must be a lawyer. So, Gisel contacted Bagas this morning to ask for his help. His arrival in the detention room, of course, means that Bagas is happy to help him.

"Every citizen is entitled to legal assistance at every level of examination. Article 55 KHUP."

"And Law no 11 of 2012. Every minor must be accompanied by a parent or trusted person. Since Kanaya's parents can't attend, I'm here to represent them."

After Bagas placed himself next to Gisel, he again continued, "I see there are already lawyers here. That means this check won't stop here alone. Therefore, as a lawyer of the Bharatajaya family, I am present to accompany Kanaya Bharatajaya."

No one dared to argue. Not even the Viennese lawyer. Vienna and his father moreover. They were already quite surprised by the arrival of Bagas. And then they were treated to laws that they did not understand. They are increasingly speechless.

The Headmaster's mother couldn't resist either. He knew who Bagas was, both as his parents Tika, one of his students, and also his profession.

The only thing different is Rey. From then on, the man only held back his laughter. Rey didn't expect Gisel to do that. Because this plan was the plan that Gisel had just thought about this morning. Of course, this was quite a shock to all of them.

In the end, the examination continued. Like it or not, Vienna and her father let Bagas stay there without the slightest protest. Moreover, the lawyer had also confirmed everything Bagas said. Can what else they?

The more Gisel thought about it, the more Gisel felt indignant. Vienna is only a 15-year-old. He could do that just to hurt someone else. I don't know what he'll be able to do in the future?

"Eh! There was a witness!," exclaimed Gisel suddenly as he was watching the video footage. "There's someone peeping."

Vienna immediately moved from where he sat and approached Gisel. He violently snatched the phone held by Gisel, then repeated the video.

"Where? There ain't! Don't make it up!," snapped Vienna approved by his father and lawyer.

"really? Let's see, deh."

Gisel took the phone back, then showed it to Bagas. He pointed to something in the video.

After a while of watching, Bagas also agreed with what Gisel said. "Yes, ada. He peeked for a moment. It looks like students too."

Once again, Vienna took the phone from Gisel and watched it. Vienna still found nothing.

"You must be lying. The lawyer and papa did not see it either," snapped Vienna which he even addressed to Bagas, the person older than him.

"Because our views are different, we can take this video to the experts for analysis. Right or not, they will definitely be able to find it."

Bagas gives you a very good idea. Because after that, Vienna immediately grasped the phone tightly.

"No need! I know you're all lying. I know the situation better. No one was at that time. Someone's guarding the ..." Vienna realized he had made a mistake. He suddenly covered his mouth with both hands.

"Gotcha!," exclaimed Gisel who shouted with excitement in his heart.

Gisel was just lying. There's nothing in that video. The video is too perfect. Fortunately, Bagas knew what to do when Gisel showed the video.

Vienna is that easy. He was just a kid who thought of an easy way to win, and money helped him achieve his wish. Gisel realized it, and then came up with the idea.

"I mean, Mr. Reynard told people to stand guard in front of the room." Of course, Vienna was getting nervous now. He was thinking of another lie to cover up the previous lie.

And Bagas did not miss his chance. "Who? A teacher? Or students too? You must have seen that guy, right?"

Vienna is getting cornered. He looked confused looking for answers to Bagas's questions. Not much different from his lawyer and father Vienna. They were also confused, but their confusion seemed to be due to the shock of what Vienna had said before.

"S-I don't know! S-I was at that time scared and always m-closing my eyes," exclaimed Vienna with a clear sense of panic heard from his voice.

The sound of a very loud door knocking sounded quite startling. Vienna almost jumped because of it. Before long the sound of a knock was heard, the door finally opened and Adit was seen coming with his tense face.

"Good day, Mom. I'm carrying evidence that Mr. Reynard is innocent."

And everyone in the room was silent, except for Vienna, who looked almost bleached because her blood might stop flowing due to her panic.
