I'm Not a High School Boy
CHAPTER 45: Nabila Starts Rebelling

"Actually, what's in Clara's head?"

So Gisel thought as he listened to Bagas and Satrio's explanation of the doll company.

All the truth that Rafael told him was almost unbelievable to Gisel. Especially in the part where Clara would sacrifice her children to be a shield for her. Yes, including Nabila in it.

Bagas found one of the documents on behalf of Nabila in it. Not only that, but there are also Adrian and Kanaya. That means, Clara is moving ownership into their name. And that means again, if one day Clara disappears, their children must face the problems made by Clara.

"It's evil!," said Gisel infuriated.

But, that was not the evidence that Rafael meant at that time. The evidence Rafael was referring to came just days after Gisel's meeting with Rafael.

"Look! Don't make a fuss today. Stay in the room. Don't go out! This is not a show for you. You are! Watch brother. You heard, right?"

So Clara said with all her commandments.

Gisel did not argue much. He confirmed everything Clara said. He wanted to know more about what Clara wanted to do than to argue with her.

Although Gisel had promised himself to follow what Clara had ordered today, but Gisel still went out and peeked at what was going on in the living room after he told Ian to stay in the room.

In the same way that he peeked at Clara and Rafael, now Gisel uses it to know Clara's important event today.

From above, Gisel could see Clara sitting side by side with Nabila. Two men with a woman sat in front of Clara. One man looks younger. Gisel suspects it was Nabila's future husband.

"At least, Clara did not find Nabila an old man," said Gisel lirih.

"When it's beautiful, yes" she told the young man next to her. The young man replied with a big smile.

The joy in the room was a stark contrast when Gisel noticed Nabila. Although with her beautiful makeup, Nabila's smile did not look as happy as the parents who were there. Even when the parents deliberately sat them side by side, Nabila only showed a thin smile that seemed forced.

"When you don't like it?" asked Gisel in his heart.

Gisel's question is not without reason. She remembers how Nabila laughed happily when her mother said she would match her with a better man with Kanaya. Nabila did not seem to mind. So why does she look so unhappy now?

Gisel finally returned to his room. In his head he brought new questions. Why did Rafael give all that information to her? What exactly does Rafael want? Is it true that he just wants to save himself? If he knows Corens, why not ask Corens to protect him?

Even with all the evidence Rafael gave him, it was still difficult for Gisel to be able to believe him right away. There are too many bad things he has experienced with Rafael. Trusting Rafael is too easy.

Gisel's daydream suddenly broke when his phone rang. A message came in for him. From Rey, apparently.

"I've heard from Mr. Satrio. Don't be so easily lured Rafael, Gi. You must not follow his will. Wait for me to come back, we'll find a way out together. You know, Gi?"

Gisel snorted softly. Even in Japan he can still get information about Gisel. He was really scary, Gisel thought. Although in fact, it is not scary in the denotative meaning that Gisel meant. Therefore, Gisel smiled cynically reading the message.

Then, he replied, "Yes, yes. Even in Japan, it is still fine. Bring it back."

And before long, "Ready, Miss Commander."

Gisel smiled again reading the message.

Gisel recalled Rey's words before she left. And again she felt a pain in her heart whenever she thought about who the girl Rey meant. It's hard to find the answer now. Gisel thought it might be better if Rey told him straight away. But the question is, is he ready? It's still about that.

"Here, whatever," said Gisel, fanning the air above his head as if he were blowing his mind over his head. Even Ian looked at him with a worried look. Maybe he thinks Gisel is sick.

Gisel approaches him, accompanying him to play to allay Ian's concerns as well as his own.

"It's better than having to think about it all day" he thought.

Gisel had just filled his drinking bottle in the kitchen, and was about to return to his room, when he heard a strange sound that sounded near the stairs. He almost thought it was a thief, but fortunately it was immediately seen by Nabila who was carrying his backpack.

"Where is he going?" thought Gisel.

I don't know what the contents of the backpack that Nabila brought. But whatever it is, Nabila still insist on carrying it even though it looks very heavy.

Looking at Nabila who was walking towards him, Gisel did not hide nor run away. He let Nabila see himself.

Nabila's steps came to a halt as she saw Gisel standing with a drinking bottle in his hand. Without a single word coming out of her mouth, Nabila continued her steps towards the back door of her house.

"You run away from home?" asked Gisel guessing.

Nabila stopped her steps, then said, "It's none of your business." Then, start stepping again. Gisel caught up with him.

Nabila did not care about Gisel who continued to follow him. And so did Gisel who kept following him. Not a word came out of Gisel's mouth as long as he followed Nabila.

Gisel's journey to follow Nabila is quite far. They had already left their house, and Nabila was still walking without Gisel knowing where he was headed.

It's half nine o'clock in the night. The streets were already deserted from the people who passed through them. They were even worrylessly walking on those deserted streets. They were just two girls walking down a lonely road at night.

"Stop following me, can you?," shouted Nabila annoyed at Gisel to stop his steps.

"Tell me, where are you going?" asked Gisel.

"I told you already. It's none of your business. Don't interfere!"

Nabila walked back to leave Gisel. The heavy backpack was now hung on both shoulders.

"Is it because you can't refuse your mother?" asked Gisel.

Nabila's steps stopped.

Gisel felt himself having just caught a fish with his question. He felt satisfied to make Nabila stop his steps.

"You don't agree with that match. Right, right?" asked Gisel slowly.

Gisel walked slowly closer to Nabila who was currently standing behind him. Gisel did not know how the look of Nabila's face at this time. What Gisel could see at this moment was the movement of Nabila's arm that was rubbing her face.

"He was crying" thought Gisel.

The distance between them is getting smaller. And when Gisel was almost a few steps away from Nabila, the girl turned to face Gisel.

"You want to laugh at me, don't you? Just laugh. A satisfied laugh. That's what you want," said Nabila.

Gisel stood glued to see Nabila's reaction. Anger that Gisel had not expected before.

"Why am I laughing at you?"

Nabila put her backpack down. He's probably tired of carrying it.

"You're satisfied to see me like this? Are you satisfied that my fate is the same as yours? You were once betrothed to an old man. Me? Ha! My candidate is a depressed person. Which at any moment could have gone berserk and hit people."

Gisel was silent. He just listened to Nabila tell a story.

"All because of money. Because the old man wanted to give mama a lot of money. I'm for sale, Kanaya!"
