CHAPTER 47: Hunting for Proof of Truth

Gisel entered Farhan's study carefully even though he knew no one would come across him today.

Nabila and Ian were busy in their rooms. Especially Ian, the boy had probably slept from earlier. Clara, as Rafael said, left this morning on business, he said. And the house instantly became deserted.

All this time, Gisel never once thought about Farhan's workspace. He never thought there was anything stored in there. And now, he decided to check out the room for the first time he had come.

The room is not too big. But it is spacious enough to put a pair of desks and work chairs along with bookshelves in it. It was quite comfortable with a large window beside it. Somehow the view during the day, but by looking at the big window alone is enough to give an idea of how comfortable this room is during the day.

"So where should I start?" asked Gisel. His eyes continued to look through the entire corner of the room.

Gisel finally decided to go to his desk first. Trying to open some locked drawers. And only then did Gisel finally come to his senses.

"No one keeps secrets in an unlocked drawer" she said, shuffling her hair.

The problem is where is the key?

Gisel switched to another part. Behind the desk was a small closet that was quite long. The top is neatly lined with books and some table decorations.

Gisel crouched down to check the contents in the closet. Apparently, a safe.

The safe is not too big, according to the height of the closet that is only waist. Looking at its shape, the safe did not seem to be a new safe.

"I think I've seen this type. It's an old model."

Gisel checked the whole vault. But, he did not find any clues there. Then, what should he do now?

His gaze now led to the bookshelves that were in front of him. He then stood examining the book one by one.

Nothing special. There are only business and motivation books. Some books are old books, clearly visible from the cover of the book. When Gisel turned his head up, he saw something strange up there.

A book looks a bit forward, in contrast to the other books next to it. Question, why?

Gisel did not linger about it anymore. Slowly he picked up the book that was on top of his head. When he opened it, the book was deliberately hollowed out just to keep something inside. A key.

When Gisel picked it up, inside was a row of handwritten numbers.

"Is this the password?" thought Gisel.

There's only one way to find out. Gisel tried it immediately.

And ... THE HORN! Open safe.

Gisel's heart stopped for a moment. But then he immediately regained his consciousness. Soon he found out what the safe was.

Money, gold, and .. here it is. But, what documents?

One by one Gisel opened the maps. "It seems, this is the document that Rafael is referring to."

Gisel put the document aside. He took back whatever was in there. And something caught Gisel's attention. A flash disk.

Gisel quickly moved to open the computer on the desk. As soon as it lit up, he directly connected it to that flash disk.

What was found was quite surprising. Almost all of these files are videos.

Gisel opened one of them. The file shows the relationship Rafael and Clara had done while in the living room. Judging from the picture, the video was taken using a video recorder.

"It looks like Farhan took his own picture."

Gisel opens another video file. Look how Clara tortured Kanaya. And some videos also show the same thing, but in different places.

"Farhan may start to get suspicious of Clara. That's why he put a hidden camera" Gisel said.

Overall not a special flash disk, but good enough for Bagas, so thought Gisel.

Back Gisel unloads the safe. Unfortunately, he found nothing there. Gisel snorted softly.

"There must be something else" thought Gisel.

Back Gisel noticed the room was inches per inch. He was looking for something different like when he found the key to the safe.

From his seat near the safe, Gisel noticed something strange on the top shelf. A place that is very difficult to reach without the help of stairs. A place that would also definitely go unnoticed because of its unusual position. If Gisel was in a different position, he probably wouldn't have gotten the hint.

It turned out to be a small wooden closet. Maybe because of its high position, and someone so sure it will not be found out, the closet can be easily opened, because it is not locked.

The closet looks more like a small drawer. The shape is the size of a thin document, because it is for that he is used, to store documents.

Gisel took the drawer out of his storage. Then go down to unpack the contents.

Flash the disk again.

Just like he did earlier, Gisel found out what the flash disk was. And still the same, video. But this time it's a little different. This video is footage Farhan made himself.

"I made this video without anyone's knowledge, especially Clara. I hope this video will help save Kanaya, my son.

I, Farhan Bharatajaya made this video consciously and without coercion from anyone. Through this video I will expose all of Clara's wrongdoings and hope that this can nullify Clara's guardianship over my daughter, Kanaya. If something happens to me one day, I hope that my brother-in-law, Dahlia Pramudya, can help me take care of him. Help me, Oh my God."

The first surprising thing was when Farhan said Adrian's status.

"Together with this video, I also saved the results of Adrian and I'm DNA testing. The result, of course, is not suitable. I know who the boy's father was, I just couldn't find a sample I could use in the test. But, with just this test alone, it was enough for me to file a divorce papers."

Gisel opened an envelope containing a piece of paper inside. It turned out to be true, it was the result of the DNA test that Farhan was referring to.

"Then, who is Ian's father?" asked Gisel softly. He kept thinking who the man close to Clara was. There was no one else he could think of, other than Rafael. "Don't ..."

But then, Gisel denied it.

"No. Not likely. No parent can hurt their child" Gisel said.

Then a second later, she recalled Rafael's words that Clara loved only herself.

"If Rafael were his father, would he be that rich?" asked Gisel again. He still vividly remembered the horror he felt when Rafael threw the boy up.

Gisel put the matter aside. He put the envelope to the side. Then continue watching the rest of the video.

In the video, Farhan mentions Clara's attempted murder. Some of the accidents that happened to him were also planned by Clara. He therefore included the evidence in a document he had stored on the flash disk.

Turns out, it's not just that. Evidence Clara committed fraud, embezzlement of company funds, and much more. Farhan really worked hard collecting everything.

"Clara has committed many crimes like this. I'm afraid he used to trick Emma into forcing her to make that will. I hope that with this evidence it can overturn all the decisions that have always supported Clara."

Gisel's attention now remains on a map not mentioned in the video. He opened the map to find out the contents inside.

The first thing I saw was a family photo. There he saw a man holding a daughter, and a woman beside him. Gisel knew the woman as Clara.

Looking at Clara, Gisel again noticed the little girl the man was carrying. The age of the child may be about 4 years. Gisel was convinced that the boy was Nabila.

"It looks like this is information about his father Nabila," Gisel said. He was sure Farhan was gathering information about him.

"And looking at this information it seems like neither Rafael nor Clara knew about this" Gisel thought.

Gisel immediately cleared everything up. He only brought a few things that he thought were important, then put them all back in place.

The first thing he did at this time was to send the information to Bagas. Immediately he wrapped it neatly, then went out to the back door to call the Alpha team members.

"Bring this to Bagas. Soon," he ordered.

He could only trust them at this moment. He hopes that it can help Bagas and Satrio who are currently working on completing Kanaya's custody.
