In the morning Narendra takes Glacia to the funeral of Rafael and Eliza. They were buried in the graves of their families. Therefore Narendra had to volunteer to go back and forth from one place to another.
Actually, he did not really intend to attend the funeral of two crazy lovebirds, but Glacia insisted wanted to come. I don't know what the wife thinks.
After Rafael's funeral, Narendra immediately left for Lizy's funeral, although it was too late because the funeral ceremony had been completed. The couple was buried at about the same time.
Narendra pushed Glacia's wheelchair as soon as they got out of the car. Luckily this time the road they passed was flat land, so Narendra could freely bring Glacia with his wheelchair.
Arrived in front of the still-new navel, in a headstone written the name Eliza Pataya. Glacia leaned over and placed the bouquet of flowers she had been carrying on her lap. Then he looked up at the red earth.
Black clothes wrapped around Glacia and Narendra's body. As if to give calm to his agitated heart, the occasional wind blew up to slightly blow away the scarf that covered Glacia's head.
Narendra never moved from the back of his wife's body, until Glacia opened her mouth. "A few weeks ago, when I found out he wanted to kill me, I repeatedly cursed for God to eliminate him" whispered Glacia subtly. His eyes were fixed for a long time while staring, impressed empty and full of thoughts.
"I didn't think God would react this fast. Instead of being happy, my heart felt gray. I can't describe my own feelings. What I'm feeling right now, I don't understand." Glacia gulps. "Yes I realized, I didn't expect an end like this at all."
Hearing that, Narendra let out a long breath. He touched Glacia's shoulder with both hands, saving her slowly to channel the implied power. "I told you, it's not your fault. It's God's will."
"Remain still, I've contributed to all these reasons until they become like this. What's more, Rafael, he just likes me" whispered Glacia.
Narendra looked at the top of his wife's head below him. "We can't regret something that happened. Glacy, it's better now we go home. You still need a lot of rest. It's been too long since we left the hospital."
"Wait, Naren," hold Glacia. Narendra did not pull his wheelchair.
"Why?"
"Lizy said at the time ..." Glacia paused her speech. "About all the wounds on his body, is that really what you're doing?"
Silent. Narendra looked around, not expecting Glacia to ask that. Glacia looked up at him, looking at Narendra with a faint frown.
"So, the retaliation you were referring to back then ... injured Lizy?"
Until a minute passed Narendra was still silent. He did not know and did not understand what Glacia meant to ask this question. Narendra thought all the conflict between them was over, but all the presuppositions were gone because Glacia was currently looking at him as if Narendra was a villain to be avoided.
"Glacy's." Narendra could only murmur the name of the wife.
"Why?" whispered Glacia. "Why do you have to hurt people to vent your hatred on them?" whispered Glacia again. "Before the accident happened, before my legs were taken away, I felt I was the most evil woman in the world. I too often hurt people's feelings with my words and deeds, I ignored and lowered my husband's self-esteem, defied my parents, and there were many other things I intentionally and unintentionally did."
"But of all the above, I never dared to physically injure anyone."
Narendra fell silent, and Glacia touched the man's cold hand. "Naren, I'm saying this is not to judge you. I'm not afraid of you either. I just ... want to know, who are you really?"
That certainly surprised Glacia, especially Narendra who reflexively held Glacia's body from falling.
"Women don't know themselves. How dare you step foot on the navel ground of my son!!!" A middle-aged woman shouted at Glacia. She is Jemima, Lizy's mother whose face is now swollen and scarlet with tears.
Glacia was still glued in surprise. She pulled her hair that had just been pulled. Glacia looked at her shawl in the woman's hand, some of her hair being snatched away behind the black cloth.
"Killer! You murderer! You killed Eliza and Rafael! You ruined their lives! You're a murderer!"
"So, speak to you, madam!" narendra. He pulled Glacia's shoulder until the wife docked at his waist. Narendra stared intently at Jemima who now looked at them with hatred.
"What's? I'm just talking the truth, Narendra. He's the reason this happened! Before this everything was fine. But after the woman comes, always! My daughter's life is always ruined! You were, now Rafael. Why was he never satisfied to captivate the hearts of men!" yell Jemima. "You unlucky lady, Glacia! What is actually more special than a disabled woman like you?!"
"Enough!" Narendra pointed at Jemima using his finger. "Originally you know, all this happened because of your own daughter. He always wanted to kill my wife. He himself messed up his life with dissatisfaction. He who refuses to accept the decisions of those around him. He's the one who's always jealous of something that doesn't belong to him!" Narendra's breath was puffed. "So, never involve my wife in this, let alone blame her for something she herself did not want. Not only are you hit, we're still shocked by everything that's going on."
"Omong empty," sizzled Jemima. He sobbed with an unacceptable look. The spotlight is still filled with incomprehension. "This woman is a source of misfortune for my daughter."
Jemima roared, crying squeezing the land of Eliza's navel. His body was broken with a face of despair. Glacia watched it in silence. He did not deny that he felt guilty for everything.
Jemima was right, if it wasn't for him, none of these events would have happened. It would have been better if Glacia had never met Narendra, Rafael, or Lizy. Unconsciously he had messed up their lives.
Amidst Jemima's heartbreaking roar of tears, people in black suits whom Glacia thought were Pataya's men appeared, trying to pull the woman up without leaving an impression of respect and disdain.
Jemima was taken away by the men, while Glacia was still staring as Narendra rubbed his shoulders and said. "Don't listen to the bullshit. Let's just say it's just an outpouring of anger, because he doesn't have someone to use as an excuse to be thrown into error."
Glacia. He took a breath while folding his lips staring at Jemima's departure with his luxury car.
"This whole thing is my fault. I'm the reason they're both crazy. Lizy was jealous of me for marrying you, and then Rafael liked me because I reminded the man of his sister. Their obsession is related to me. Indirectly I became the intermediary both met this staggering death."
"Glacy's." Narendra crouched down before Glacia, one hand resting on the woman's knee, while the other clasped Glacia's fingers that felt moist and cold. "In this world there is a law of cause and effect. Maybe God made you the cause of their death, but you should know that the consequences they bear are their own decisions. Those who decide to do bad things to you, then this is what they get. Had these two people been able to restrain themselves and accept the circumstances, an end like this would not have happened."
"Stop blaming yourself. If you feel that way, what about me?" continued Narendra. "Absponding to your previous question, right, I hurt Lizy in retaliation because she was already planning to kill you."
Narendra looked at Glacia. "You're not mistaken if you want to consider me a monster, because I even deliberately eliminated my own father."
Glacia. His breathing seemed to stop for a moment staring at Narendra. He looked into his eyes, trying to find the truth that was clearly visible. Glacia did not know what to say because a second later she felt her body go limp.
The last thing he noticed was Narendra's buzzing voice calling out his name.
Glacia's mind was unfocused. His head was filled with questions about who Narendra really was. What kind of man has he been married to all this time?
