Serving a Paralyzed Wife

Serving a Paralyzed Wife
34. The Heart that Begins to Hope

The night is getting late, but there is still no sign Glacia will leave the sun house. It had already entered the servants' rest hours, but Vienna and Weni were unlikely to rest if Glacia had not yet fallen asleep.

The woman had been at home with her reading books since this afternoon. Water, tea, even fruit juice and other snacks have been eaten Glacia. Not only that, Glacia dinner also did in the greenhouse. Vienna and Weni got tired of going back and forth, not to mention they had to string up excuses on Narendra.

"Madam, it's night. You should go to bed and rest immediately" said Vienna, worried about Glacia's health. He noticed the mistress often coughed on several occasions.

But Glacia remained stubborn and wanted to continue reading. "In the meantime, I don't like to sleep in a curious state."

The book of novels that Glacia held was thick. If it was Vienna or Weni, they wouldn't be able to spend it in a day or two.

It is undeniable that the two servants were also sleepy. Though Glacia also yawned several times, but the woman still had no intention to sleep.

Until Narendra appeared in his nightclothes. Vienna and Weni who were sitting not far behind Glacia immediately stood up in salute. They were silent as Narendra gestured for silence.

The man looked at Glacia who was still cool with his own world.

"Go and rest." About that's what Narendra said next without a sound.

At first Vienna and Weni looked doubtful, they looked back, at Glacia who was still unaware of Narendra's presence. But in the end the two servants nodded because they felt reluctant to argue.

Vienna and Weni nodded and said goodbye leaving the sun house. As soon as the two of them were, Narendra walked slowly closer to Glacia. He took the blanket that was draped in the chair not far from the woman, then spread it out to cover Glacia's back and shoulders.

Glacia looked surprised. His body jumped until he reflexively turned his head.

"Why not sleep? It was night, the weather was cold too" asked Narendra.

The man turned to the front of Glacia and knelt down, his outstretched hand touching Glacia's bare feet without sandals.

Glacia blinked for a moment before replying. "So it's a bit sultry" replied Glacia briefly.

Narendra turned his eyes to the feather sandals lying under the table. It must have been Vienna or Weni who kept it there. Narendra immediately took the object and put it at Glacia's feet.

Naren did not stand up even though he was done, he fell silent in a crouching position without thinking what. Glacia looked up, a dark sky visible from the glass roof above him. There are no stars, not the moon. The weather was as dim as Glacia's heart which somehow felt chaotic. Maybe he was still carried away after his meeting with Gallen.

"Why do you care so much about me?" glacia asked suddenly. He looked down, even Narendra looked back at him.

"You asked that again."

Glacia. "You feel sorry for me?"

Narendra reluctantly replied, he took a breath and looked back at Glacia's feet. He seemed tired of Glacia's question that was all.

The atmosphere was so quiet that Glacia felt she heard a gust of wind. The lush green plants around them began to give off their own fresh scent.

"Naren?" whispered Glacia. "Why are the more days, the less I feel?"

"Please don't care about me too much. Act the way you used to when you were a stranger."

Narendra looked up at Glacia. "Why?"

Glacia did not answer. He observed Narendra's reaction if his words were out of control.

"Because it seems my heart is beginning to hope for the impossible."
