Serving a Paralyzed Wife

Serving a Paralyzed Wife
72. The Glacia and Narendra

Thomas was struck with a glaring look. His knees were bent with his back leaning against the wall behind. His roar looked indifferent, ignoring the noise that his fellow prisoners often created. Thomas was silent all the time, he rarely talked much less socialized there.

The young man looked cold with tattoos on almost all parts of his body, except the face of course. She seems unapproachable, which makes her fellow male colleagues often discriminate, if not Krisna who broke them up.

True, Thomas and Krishna were placed in one detention, in contrast to other rams that were indeed spread to several prisons in various regions.

While everyone else was busy with their company, Krishna approached Thomas, who remained silent almost every day. His place was also just there, as if he was reluctant to occupy another corner in the narrow space.

Krishna pushed Thomas' shoulder until the young man shook slightly. He looked at Krishna with a stare. Krishna smiled back at him.

For a moment Krisna's vision circulated observing the entire prisoner. They were still gathered and laughing calling out words of mockery. Krisna leaned slowly on Thomas, then whispered beside his ear. "Then, how did you escape from prison?"

Krishna recalled, Thomas once told his friends that he was a escaped convict, in the sense that Thomas was a fugitive. Krisna was curious because it seemed like Thomas was the new kid in their group. All this time Krishna paid less attention.

Thomas only glanced at Krishna indifferently. He looked straight ahead without even answering Krishna's question. But Krishna did not give up, he continued to ask until after a long time Thomas wasted his breath. "Luck," he said briefly.

Krishna raised an eyebrow, his eyes watching Thomas.

"I'm just lucky, so I can be free" Thomas continued, lazy.

Krishna snorted with a smile. "And I wonder about your luck." He looked at Thomas. "Hey, can you help me?"

Thomas glanced at Krishna, also returning his gaze long enough. The two looked at each other meaningfully until before long a warden called one of the prisoners there.

"Where are you going?" Weni asked when she saw that Vienna had changed, while the others were still wearing their maid uniforms, including Weni herself.

Vienna was stunned for a moment as if confused to answer what. He tightened his grip on the mantle in his hand as he continued to think.

"Ec, Weni. Please set my attendance data on the Chief Maid, huh? I'm allowed to finish my job faster. I have to go outside."

Weni's forehead was wrinkled deep. I don't know why lately Vienna has been hiding something from him. Normally, wherever Vienna went, she would have told Weni where she was going. So did Weni who always told Vienna.

"Where are you going?" Once again Weni asked.

But Vienna just folded her smiling lips in doubt. "That's, I want to buy some medicine for Dad. Just a minute, I'll be back tonight, all right."

"Then I'll come along" Weni said.

Vienna shook quickly. "Don't. You're just here. Not good with the others if we're both licensed."

"But I want to know father's condition. I also want to know what medications the doctor prescribed," Weni chuckled.

"Can't, Weni. You forget, this is not the residence of Mr. Narendra, this is the mansion of Mr. Martadinata. We can't just work. Even though the master we serve is not around, still if later Madame Glacia needs one of us in the hospital, how? Please, just let me take care of everything about dad, you just focus on working."

Weni did not argue anymore. What Vienna said was true, he should be ready at any time should Narendra or John call him to the hospital. She was the personal servant of the woman.

"Yes already. Then be careful," Weni broke up in the end.

After that Vienna sauntered away leaving Weni who was unmoved staring at his departure.

While in the hospital, Narendra walked down the corridor after exiting the elevator. He was about to return to Glacia's ward as promised this morning. Although late from the promised time, because Narendra had to take care of work at the company after meeting Gibran Wiranata.

The four guards standing there bowed in disdain when they saw Narendra coming. Narendra paused for a moment to ask them. "Everything okay as long as I'm gone?"

"All good, Sir. Mr. John left the hospital at 4 p.m. He advised you not to wait for Miss all night. Come down to eat."

Narendra just nodded, his father-in-law did order the same thing several times. Sometimes, Narendra felt strange to be noticed like that, because since childhood only the mother often showed it.

He quickly opened the door of Glacia's room and immediately found the woman who was fast asleep. Narendra watched his wife as she walked towards the sofa, she began to open her laptop which she had brought from the office and continued her work there.

For almost an hour Narendra sat down on his laptop, until he heard Glacia's voice calling him in a half-whispering voice. "Naren?"

Narendra looked up, he closed the screen of his laptop to then move from the sofa approaching the bed.

Glacia blinked I looked at Narendra. "When did you come?"

Narendra sat down on the chair before answering. "About an hour ago."

"Would you like a drink?" ask Narendra.

Glacia did not reply, but Narendra still took a glass of water on the nightstand, sticking a straw on the woman's lips. Slowly Glacia took a sip of the drinking water while looking at Narendra who was also watching him. When Narendra finished, he put the glass back on the table.

"Sleep again" said Narendra. Although their relationship was closer than ever, Narendra never lost his flat countenance.

Instead of sleeping, Glacia actually glanced at the fruit on the nightstand next to the bed. Narendra who understood also looked there.

"You hungry?"

Glacia grimaced silently, she took her eyes off the fruits and tried to lie down more comfortably.

"Would you eat something, or do you really want fruit?"

"no need. I'll just sleep."

Narendra took a breath and took an orange from the fruit basket, then peeled it until the distinctive fresh fragrance came out beating the fragrance of the room.

Narendra held out a segment to Glacia. Glacia was flashing confused half embarrassed. The man didn't say anything until it felt like Glacia was awkward.

"Glacy?" said Narendra because Glacia never received the orange.

Glacia opened her mouth, and Narendra fed her in peace. The atmosphere of the room was so quiet, but it also felt warm to Glacia.

Though this morning Narendra also bribed him, but Glacia still felt bad. Because honestly, for more than a year married, Glacia never got close like this to Narendra.

"If you really want something, just talk. No shame in me being your husband." Narendra said that casually, but the effect was not at all relaxing for the heart of Glacia.
