The Demon Queen's Disciple

The Demon Queen's Disciple
Chapter 14 - Concerns

"Hoooh, so you're the Lucius that Edward talks about so much?"

"Haha! Look her! Be bold in front of a girl!"

"Surely, what can you do? Looking at your F-rank alone, I'm not sure you can do much."

The words of the three men did not frighten Lucius at all. After all, the hell created by Carmilla was much more terrifying compared to them.

Even if they were from C class who were 3 levels above the current Lucius class.

It's just....

"Stop! You just have to beat me up, right? Let Lucius alone and...."

"Buahaha! Look at this girl! Listen, kid. You're not ashamed to have to take cover behind his back?" said the dark red-haired student.

"Aaaah, now that Lucius hurt your hand, shouldn't his sentence be increased?" the other students behind him.

"yes too! What if.... Later that night you come to our place, alone?"

"Haha! What a great idea!"

Upon hearing that her punishment would be increased, Sophia was seen trembling in fear. Even so, he still forced himself to look fine.

With her legs unceasingly trembling, Sophia tried to stand up and pull Lucius' body back slowly.

"Lucius, it's okay. These are all my choices." he said with a gaze that could only see the floor.

...But Lucius doesn't care about any of that. What he had in mind at the moment, was to stop this one-sided suppression....

Hence....

"Eeh, so since you guys are in C class, you think you're already very strong huh? Then, dare to fight me?" lucius asked with such sharp eyes.

The three men fell silent after hearing Lucius' talk.

This time, there was no laughter on their part. Rather it was just a blaze of rage in their hearts as it had just been underestimated.

"Is that so?" asked the dark red-haired student with a gaze that was also no less terrifying.

He quickly raised his right arm. On the back of his right hand, a shield symbol with two horses began to appear in yellow.

"I, Damon Emberheart, challenge you in a duel. If I win, you'll be my slave."

Shortly after, a pillar of light appeared between the two. That pillar of light had a height equivalent to that of an adult male in yellow.

Realizing what was going on, Sophia tried her hardest to stop him.

"No! Lucius! Don't ter...."

Lucius paid no heed to what Sophia had said. Quickly, he also raised his right arm. Shows the same emblem on the back of his right hand.

"I, Lucius Nightshade, accept your challenge. If I win, stay away from Sophia forever." Lucius replied with a face so solemn.

'Swuuuooossh!!!'

Flames began to appear on the light pillar in front of them. Quickly, the blaze wrote down their full names and requests to win the duel.

Including also, the time when they would fight.

...[.18:00, today]...

"Then, I look forward to you in the arena in a few hours. Don't run away, because this news has spread throughout the academy." said the dark red-haired student named Damon.

"Shouldn't I speak like that?" lucius replied without a hint of fear on his face.

"Cih, lowly F class. Don't feel great after being able to beat a few slimes. Let's get out of here." retorted Damon who immediately walked away along with his two friends.

Leaving Lucius as well as Sophia in the middle of this academy passageway.

Moments after the sound of their footsteps was no longer heard, the silence in this hallway was broken by the sobs of Sophia.

"Hiks.... Idiot.... What the hell are you doing? Why are you fighting him? You know who he is? Damon Emberheart's! The strongest fire mage in class C! Even I, don't know if I can fight it! That's why, I...."

"Then, there's no problem for me." Lucius replied with a friendly smile on his face.

He began to help Sophia to stand up from the floor, before bringing her right hand closer to Sophia's right cheek.

"Curatio" said Lucius briefly.

A small greenish magic circle appeared on Lucius' right palm. Where the greenish glow that emerged from it, it slowly began to heal the wound on Sophia's cheek.

"Eh?"

Sophia looked quite surprised after knowing Lucius was able to use healing magic.

Although the magic that Lucius had just used included low-level magic, but the healing magic itself was much more complicated than Elemental magic.

"Lucius, you.... Since when are you...."

"You know? To get back here, I have to go through hell. And healing magic, was the first magic I seriously learned in that hell to survive." Lucius replied with a friendly smile.

"Hell?" sophia asked confusedly.

"Hmm, briefly.... I had to run for hours through the hot flames, smashing hard rocks, jumping over sharp thorns, enduring deadly cold, powerful electric shocks, and so on, and a few times almost dead."

Seeing Lucius say all that so casually, Sophia was barely able to believe it.

But after seeing how many scars there were on Lucius' body up close....

"So, don't worry. I'm not the weakest person I used to be."

At that time Sophia was no longer able to stem all her sadness and suffering during this time. And without a doubt, put everything to Lucius.

"Yahoooooooooooo!!! You knew?! L'm.... I've always suffered since I got Edward in custody! And I thought my life would never improve again! In fact! My family's got a lot of threats from the Goldencrest family!

They thought I was slandering Edward for no apparent reason! As a result, not only myself, but my entire family was in trouble too! It's all my fault for.." cried Sophia, crying loudly, hugging Lucius' scarred body behind his uniform.

"I'm sorry, because of me, you have to go through all that." Lucius replied briefly as he continued to pat Sophia on the back.

"Hiks.... I blamed you a few times, and slowly, started hating you, you know? But.... It was all my own fault, for being so strong-witted without having the necessary strength.... I'm...."

Lucius kept trying to calm Sophia's figure in the deserted passageway.

Several times, students passed through this hallway without realizing the whereabouts of the two of them.

Eventually, Sophia managed to calm herself down.

............

A few hours later, in this Arena of Damacia Academy....

"Lucius, are you sure? Damon's very strong, you know?" sophia asked once more in this waiting room.

"More important than that, did the friends from class F come?" ask Lucius.

"Well.... They all said they would come to support you but, isn't this too dangerous for you?"

Meanwhile, Lucius was still busy wearing the brownish leather armor provided by the academy. At the same time trying to choose one of the dozens of swords.

All had been prepared by the academy, because this was indeed their rule.

A fight between students, can be resolved through an agreed duel between the two sides. While the academy will prepare everything needed in the fight, if students do not have adequate equipment.

More than that, the winner's request was recorded by the magic library in this academy. Where the effect is almost the same as contract magic between the two parties.

Breaking that request, would cause severe pain to the offender.

Although, the request can be broken when the losing side challenges the winning side back. At any time, as long as both of them were still inside the academy.

And the last rule....

If in a duel, one of the parties was killed, then the academy and the kingdom would not at all punish him. And consider him a winner.

Although, if their families were looking for a way to take revenge, it was different story and not included in the responsibility of the academy.

"Hmm, I think this is good enough?" lucius murmured to himself while looking at the one-handed iron sword.

"Lucius?! You're not listening to me?!" sophia panicked.

"Just calm. You support me from above with my friends in class F. Ah, tell Alex to bet as much as I can. I'll take half the profit." Lucius replied before walking off to the arena.

"Huh?! What kind of request is that?!"

Waving his right hand, Lucius replied one last time.

"Request for getting rich quick."

And finally, Lucius had set foot in the sand of this arena. An arena that is almost as big as a football field.

At the end of his view, there was a figure of Damon who stood upright holding a large sword that stuck in the sand of this arena.

"So you didn't run away?" damon asked confidently.

"You'd better ask yourself that." Lucius replied as he swung his one-handed sword here and there.

Finally, a duel between two second-year students, which saw almost hundreds of students and dozens of teachers, began. The lowest F class student, against the C class student.

It's just....

Lucius himself was a little worried. Because from then on, Carmilla had no voice at all. There is absolutely no comment on anything Lucius has done.

Are all of these choices right?
