The Demon Queen's Disciple

The Demon Queen's Disciple
Chapter 23 - Shackle Release

With a confident look, Lucius began to run with all his might while swinging his sword.

'Zraaaaasshh!!!'

As fast as lightning, the Goblin's head was cut off by Lucius's slash. Makes her smile wider.

"Haha! What am I afraid of this weak monster?! L'm.... Really have...."

'Shuuuuttt!'

Several arrows shot back right towards Lucius' body. But this time, Lucius faced it with courage.

Lucius stomped his feet to the ground while visualizing a simple magic circle around where he stood.

The magic circle had a greenish color with a simple curved groove like a whirlwind.

'Wuuuussshhh!!!c

In an instant, a strong wind pressure appeared around Lucius for a moment. Pushing back some of those arrows.

"If it's not wrong.... That this?" lucius said to himself while pointing with two fingers of his left hand.

At the tip of his index and middle fingers, a small magic circle appeared bright red. And in an instant, it shot out a small fireball at such a high speed.

'Blaayarrr! Blaarr!! !'cab blaaarrrr!!!'

Lucius fired a total of 4 small fireballs, which easily pierced the heads of some of the Goblins..

"Graaarrgh?!" shouted the remaining 7 Goblins around Lucius. They seem confused to see this situation.

"Aah, shit. Missed one huh? I think I should go back to practice shooting magic." Lucius complained a little annoyed.

Carmilla who saw Lucius for the first time was able to fight confidently, feeling proud of Lucius' abilities.

Even if not talented at all, Lucius always showed sincerity in every training he gave.

No matter how painful or boring the training was.

It's just that up until now, Lucius was too low-value himself. Even more so after the incident against Damon where Lucius was overconfident.

But now, after Lucius managed to fight his own trauma while being caught by the Goblins....

Finally, Lucius had been detached from the entire shackle that had been restraining his abilities all along.

The shackles in which Lucius always judged himself.

"For everything!" lucius shouted loudly under the dim moonlight.

The sound of leaves could be heard clearly every time the Goblins ran towards Lucius.

And when they get close....

'Swuuushh!!'

Lucius twisted his body while swinging his left arm. Spitting out quite a lot of water through the blue magic circle in his left hand.

Shortly after, Lucius again stomped his right leg violently to the ground.

'Kreettaakk! Albaarrr!!'

In an instant, sharp ice pillars emerged from the ground that had been moistened by the water earlier. Penetrating the bodies of several Goblins running towards him.

'Swuushh!'

One of the Goblins seemed able to get close and give a crushing attack with his rusty axe. Directed right at Lucius' neck.

But with ease, Lucius was able to dodge Goblin's slow attack before counterattacking.

Lucius twisted his body and gave a hard kick right at the Goblin's belly.

'Braaaa!!!'

Making the little greenish-skinned monster thrown for tens of meters.

Not stopping there, Lucius turned his body once again quickly. Giving a sword slash to the Goblin who was now jumping towards him.

'Zraaat!!!'

Cutting off the Goblin's neck was easy.

Now all that remains are two Goblins carrying bows and arrows.

They seem to be starting to get scared. His body trembled, while his legs seemed to shout to run away from here immediately.

"You're right, Carmilla. L'm.... I've been a little stronger." Lucius said to himself.

But this time, it was just self-confidence. There was not a hint of pride behind Lucius' words.

The evidence?

'Swooooosshhh!!!'

Now in Lucius' left hand was a large reddish-yellow fireball. Blazing with great force, ready to burn whatever it targets.

'That's right, Lucius. It doesn't matter if it's just a Goblin or or any other enemy.... Always face them with all your abilities. And with that, you can get one step closer to true power, Carmilla replied.

If only Carmilla still had her own body, she would have given a big smile and proud of this disciple.

Hearing Carmilla's reply, Lucius smiled faintly before ending his first hunt with a large fireball.

Burned the last 2 Goblins so that they did not have the slightest bit of bone left.

...........

'So, how does it feel?' carmilla asked after Lucius cleared the rest of the fight. Including putting out the fire he just made with water magic.

Lucius looked at his own left hand before answering with a smile.

"I.... I really feel reborn."

For the first time ever, Carmilla was truly proud of Lucius. Not because of his power. Because for Carmilla who had sensed her own true strength, Lucius' current strength was only equivalent to that of an ant.

Except for Lucius' attitude of always accepting any failure, defeat, and suffering to go further.

An attitude that no real noble could possibly show, where they always obtained a golden spoon from birth.

But because Lucius is nobody in this world, he always can and always wants to put his ego down.

Without getting intoxicated the fact that a mysterious demon with ancient powers and knowledge trains him.

'I'm right, I think you're the most perfect person for my resurrection. So....'

"Hmm? You say something, Carmilla?" ask Lucius.

'Eh? No? I didn't say anything?' reply Carmilla surprised.

"Is that so? I feel like you're saying something, but maybe it's just my mind. Hahaha.." - Lucius replied, now as he walked away. Prepare to return to the city of Arcanum.

Return to his inn to rest and prepare for a new day.

'You're not tired?' ask Carmilla briefly.

"Of course I'm tired. But that's no reason to slow down the tempo of this training isn't it? I still have to catch up with the other nobles who have been training since childhood." Lucius replied with a wide smile.

Carmilla calmed down after hearing Lucius' reply. Feeling that the plan will go smoothly.

But....

"More, he said Edward's brother would be back in a few months, right? At least until then, I will continue to desperately practice. Because if you don't.." continued Lucius.

If what his F-class friends say is true, Edward's older brother, William Goldencrest, will avenge his younger brother.

No, more than that. He will avenge Lucius for humiliating the Goldencrest family.

And Lucius knew that death might come his way if he was careless for a moment after William returned to the academy.

'Just use demonic magic and you can win easily.... I would love to say that but, Lucius, it would be better if you never needed to use it.' Carmilla said.

"Just calm down, Carmilla. I have begun to understand the reason why you taught me that demonic magic." Lucius replied while magnifying the light from the fireball in his left hand. Light up the darkness of this forest.

'The reason I taught you demonic magic?'

"At some point, there will be situations where even my hard training is not enough to defeat the opponent I am facing. And as a guarantee that I never die, including your soul, you teach me this demonic magic."

Carmilla smiled after hearing Lucius reply.

He could not believe that the boy who said that, was the same boy who relied on his confidence in ancient magic to fight Damon.

'Finally you understand? Thas right. I just don't want to die.' Carmilla replied with a light laugh.

"Hahaha, I know that. By the way, I'm hungry. You want to eat something?"

The two returned to the city of Arcanum almost midnight. Decide to eat first before going back to sleep.
