The Demon Queen's Disciple

The Demon Queen's Disciple
Chapter 29 - Rumors

From the tip of Lucius' right hand, a huge burst of red flames devoured everything in front of him.

The size of the burst of flames reached a height of up to tens of meters. It runs out even to the end of the highest leaves of the tree in this forest.

...'SWUOOOOOOOOSSHH!!!'...

Without mercy, the flames melted everything before him. The leaves immediately turned to ashes. Even the thick tree trunk was scorched in an instant.

Meanwhile, the log that the Troll had just thrown was towards Lucius....

Scorched into ashes, there was nothing left and unable to get close.

"Humans.... Wizardry...."

Those were the last words of the Troll before it was toasted alive in the midst of this blaze.

All that remained of this was a forest region charred by Lucius' magic.

Within a fan-shaped region of over 100 meters, everything was charred in flames by that demonic flame. Even today, most of the fires are still burning and burning whatever remains of all this destruction.

The forest land that was previously filled with green grass, is now covered by ash to the height of human eyes.

It is undeniable, that ash is the silent witness to the cruelty of this demonic magic.

"Well.... Huh.... Huh...."

Lucius looked so exhausted after shooting fire magic just now. His body no longer had the strength to stand.

It was all because the magic just drained the entire Mana that Lucius had.

Not long after, Carmilla's voice sounded again.

'If shooting that one magic thing only makes you sprawl, you know what to do, right?' ask Carmilla.

Lucius remained silent. Swallowed his own saliva while gritting his teeth.

"I knew.... I know that...."

Instead of feeling happy about having won a fierce fight, Lucius' day was filled with resentment and anger.

Of course it was all aimed at himself for how weak he was.

"Say.... How can you kill that troll without demonic magic?" asked Lucius curiously.

'Troll's skin and muscles are thick. But there are some parts that are not protected by all of that. Jaws and eyes.'

Both of Lucius' eyes were wide open at Carmilla's reply.

Of course everyone knew the mouth and eyes were the weak part of most monsters. Unprotected by thick skin and muscles, and does not have hard bones to guard it.

But it attacked the jaws and eyes of that troll.... Just like trying to pick up a cake in the middle of a fire.

It is impossible not to hurt yourself in the process.

"Huh?! I know that too! But how did you do it?!"

The answer from Carmilla really shows the difference in experience between the two who are like heaven and earth.

'Easy. Trolls are strong, but not smart. His hatred for humans was also very strong. It was easy to provoke him into shouting. When the troll screams or something, that's your chance.'

"Don't you see how fast his reflexes are?"

'Do you need a spear to kill an ant?'

"Well?!"

'The inside of his mouth, or his eyes, did not have a strong defense. So you don't need strong magic to penetrate it. Use simple magic that is fast and can not be repelled. Easy right?' ask Carmilla before she turns silent.

Lucius began to tremble, realizing his folly of not seeing such an opportunity.

"Magic.... The wind...."

Thas right. If Lucius had realized it earlier and fired a wind knife, his high speed and almost invisible nature would have been able to bypass the Troll's reflexes.

And if the target is a weak part of the target's body, there is no need for powerful magic that takes a long time to activate.

The thought of Carmilla saying she still saw some other ways and opportunities to kill the Troll without demonic magic, made Lucius even more angry at himself.

"Damn it...."

Leaving behind a considerable wound in the forest, Lucius decided to go home. Prepare for activities at the academy in the morning.

............

The next day at the academy....

Lucius came a little late. Because of his tired body, he woke up late.

But as soon as he opened the door in his classroom, he was struck by the sight of his friends gathering at a table.

Everyone looks so serious. It was as if I were talking about something very important.

"Oi, Lucius! Come here! There's bad news you should know!" max shouted as he waved his hand. Asking Lucius to join them immediately.

"Huh? What's up?" lucius asked in confusion.

It was only a short while after Lucius sat down....

"It seems that there are dangerous monsters roaming around this Arcanum City" Oliver said, crossing his arms.

"Eh? You serious?" ask Lucius to panic. .

Dangerous monsters. Wandering around this town? Isn't that so bad? Surely Lucius thought that the existence of the monster could interfere with his training schedule at night.

"Reportedly, the forest in the North experienced a fairly severe fire. From the former, it looks like a powerful burst of fire." Sophia explained.

"According to the captain of the city guards, at least it's a B-level monster and up." Alex said.

"Pyroclaw.." said Emily in a soft voice.

Instantly, Lucius recalled the Pyroclaw monster mentioned by Emily.

'Pyroclaw, isn't that a monster that he said the Ironclad group of adventurer Guild would hunt?! Don't say.... They failed?!' lucius thought he was panicking.

But all of Lucius's thoughts were shattered into pieces upon hearing the next piece of information.

"Even he said Troll's body was found at the scene" Max said.

"Not wrong anymore. This is what Pyroclaw did, and what is certain is a very strong adult Pyroclaw." Oliver said.

Lucius who heard it could only fall silent while gaping.

How not?

Because based on all that information, there can be no doubt. That what they're really talking about is not the Pyroclaw monster. Except for himself.

'Buahahaha! Lucius! The people of the city consider you a monster! Isn't that funny?! Even B-level monsters! Boooooo! Weak, Lucius! Booooo!!!' carmilla shouted as she continued to mock Lucius.

On the other hand, it was Lucius who knew the truth that his actions had seized the attention of many city guards....

Inevitably have to keep quiet and participate in all these misunderstandings.

"Uuh, yeah.... You're correct. Isn't this very terrible considering there are such dangerous monsters around?" lucius said as he continued trying to keep his face flat.

"Max, your family?" ask Emily briefly.

"Hmm? Well, my dad just told me he'd take care of this monster. Although it was also because there was a reward of 500 gold coins from the City for the monster's head." Max replied.

"Only for 500 gold coins? You sure your family's finances are safe?" alex asked with a slightly worried face.

"Just calm. Most of the reason my father wanted to hunt him down was to test his strength. The gift was just a side dish to him."

Seeing his companions so seriously responding to this mysterious monster figure, Lucius could only continue to be silent as he stared at the floor.

In his heart, there was only one thing.

'I'm sorry, everyone.'
