The Demon Queen's Disciple

The Demon Queen's Disciple
Chapter 33 - The Outer World

'Krethajack!'

The sound of the branches breaking in the fire broke the silence of this humble camp.

Two simple tents stood tall beside the bonfire. In one of the tents, several people were gathered.

"You're sure he's okay?" asked the burly man who was none other than Ironclad.

While continuing to point the magic wand and his left hand at the figure of the boy lying helplessly, Lyra retaliated.

"The recovery is pretty fast. No, not even too fast. It was as if she was constantly using healing magic on herself." Lyra replied with a puzzled look on her face.

This was his first time caring for an injured person who could recover this quickly.

In just a few hours.

Moreover, considering the injuries suffered by the boy who was none other than Lucius, made this situation even more elusive.

Lucius is currently unconscious due to the severity of his injuries. Moreover, it was also because He had completely drained away the Mana he had back then.

His body which was only wrapped in tattered shorts made this group of adventurers able to see all the scars on Lucius' body.

After watching Lucius' body for a while, Drakon began to turn his face towards Ironclad as he said.

"But Ironclad, I think you should start learning to hold back? What if this kid just died?" drakon asked with a sharp eye.

Ironclad quickly shook his head. Knowing what might happen to his group if Lucius were to die.

"You're right. Haha.... I don't want a bunch of magic knights from the academy hunting me." Ironclad replied.

"We." Lyra's upset.

"Although so.... How could such a boy be in class F? Didn't the F class in the academy only contain useless people who even failed in the academy?" ask Drakon again.

"So, you know...."

............

Outside the tent, precisely in front of the embers of the bonfire, a figure of a girl sitting looking at something held with both hands.

His long black hair was currently being unraveled, beautifying his appearance. Even so, unable to cover the incision marks on his left face.

The more He looked at the identification card in his hand, the stronger his grip and his eyes narrowed.

"July Nightshade.... Class F second year. Haha.... Is that true?" said Sera annoyed while laughing lightly.

He was still unable to believe that Lucius' entire movement had just been included in the F-level.

Starting from a speed almost on par with himself, endurance equivalent to Drakon, magic abilities that even surpass Lyra, as well as physical strength that is able to match Ironclad.

"Isn't he at least at A level?" sera asked herself, still laughing because she couldn't believe it.

'Sruugg! Nababab!'

Not long after, someone came and sat down next to him.

"It's over?" ask Sera.

"I don't even need to use high-level healing magic." replied Lyra who looked like she was complaining a little.

"Huh? Why?"

"His body seems to be starting to recuperate by itself."

"Haha.... That's right."

Silence began to envelop the two. Accompanied by a bonfire dance in front of them.

'Kretha!!'

"So, what exactly happened to her?" ask Sera curiously.

"According to Ironclad, what just happened was similar to the physical strengthening magic of the Dragonewt race. And by the time they hit each other, Lucius' body had been destroyed first. But problem...."

Sera kept silent, waiting for the continuation of Lyra's reply.

"The magic that Lucius just used, has a much milder side effect compared to the magic that belongs to Dragonewt." continued Lyra.

After glancing for a moment at Lucius's identification card, Sera immediately noticed it.

"Nightshade, huh? Huh.... Nobles always have something to hide." Sera lamented.

"Hahaha, you're right. Maybe what he used just now was his family's secret magic?" reply Lyra while laughing lightly.

"That's possible. Whatever it is, it would be wise for ordinary people like us to avoid trouble with the nobles. Especially families that have such powerful secret magic" Sera said while pocketing Lucius's identification card.

The two spent the rest of the night in silence. Staring at the fire dance in front of them while continuing to hope that Lucius would wake up soon.

...........

Shortly after the sun began to rise....

"Ugh.... Damn, my body hurts all." lamented Lucius who had just regained consciousness.

Next to him, there is a figure of Drakon who fell asleep in a sitting position in the corner of this simple tent.

Ironclad was sitting outside the tent. Keeping his friends who have fallen asleep first.

"Hmm? Are you awake?" ironclad asked after noticing the movement inside the tent.

"That's it." Lucius replied briefly.

While trying to get up, his entire body felt so sick. Starting from the leg muscles to his arms.

Even for simple movements, Lucius felt tremendous pain. Especially to walk towards Ironclad outside the tent.

"Damn it...."

^^^'You okay, Lucius?''^^^

"Where's she? Huh.... But just now...."

^^^'You lost.''^^^

"I guessed it. Even after streaming everything for just a moment, I haven't been able to match it yet." Lucius lamented as he looked towards Ironclad in the distance.

Even so, a thin smile appeared on his face.

^^'You smiling?'^^^

"No.... It's just, I've been trying my best. If it still fails, it means that my body is still not strong enough."

^^^'Finally you realize how useless your body is?' reply Carmilla with a light laugh.^^^

Without retaliating, Lucius continued to move forward. He turned his foot toward Ironclad, even though every step was painful.

He kept holding it.

'That's right. I'm no longer a child. This kind of pain can still be endured. What's more....'

Lucius again remembered his family who were still in exile.

He had to keep fighting not just to survive. But also struggling to prepare to welcome his family.

Give them a safe place.

^^^'You're getting older, Lucius.'^^^

"really? To me, I still look like a boy who can't do anything." Lucius replied in a soft voice while laughing lightly.

^^^'That is the proof.''^^^

Looking back a while ago, the old Lucius must have cried from all this pain.

Must have given up when facing such a strong opponent.

He would also blame an opponent who was too strong for him.

And certainly....

I'll blame the world for being unfair to him.

But now?

Lucius had managed to see the world in a completely new light. A point of view that can only be obtained after being willing to accept the world as it is.

What happened to injustice? There are still many people who have fared worse than him.

What happens to not having talent? Didn't all ordinary people, just like her, also have no talent in magic?

But the proof, Ironclad who doesn't even have a surname can also be that strong.

Because it's....

There is no reason to blame the world.

For Lucius now, what matters is not how the world treats him.

But how he adapted to this kind of world.

And through a step like passing through the field of thorns, Lucius began to get closer to his dream.

In front of him, now looks the figure of Ironclad who greets him kindly.

"Sorry for yesterday. I only have a habit of fighting strong people."

The old Lucius would definitely immediately scream 'what the fuck? why did it suddenly almost kill me' or something.

But Lucius is currently....

"Can I ask for a rematch someday?"

With a big smile, Ironclad replied.

"of course. Whenever you want, my group will always be in the Guild at least on weekends. Meet me anytime, and challenge me again, boy."

Lucius was satisfied with this result. If you have an opponent train as strong as Ironclad....

Facing the threat of William Goldencrest also began to look not so terrible.

It's just....

"Ah, about just now. Don't report your family, will you? I don't want to be hunted by noble families. And also because I won, the wolf hunt is mine?" ironclad said while scratching his head.

Hearing that, Lucius could only laugh.

"Hahaha, no problem for me. Do as you please." he replied before leaving the group immediately.

Because anyhow....

He still had to go to the academy.
