The Demon Queen's Disciple

The Demon Queen's Disciple
Chapter 87 - The Soldiers of Charges

Upon arriving at class, Lucius is greeted by his friends who have not seen his figure for a long time.

"Lucius! Thank goodness you're okay!" sophia shouted who immediately ran to hug Lucius.

"Alex didn't tell you anything?" lucius asked briefly while trying to push back Sophia's body.

With a gentle nod, Sophia replied.

"Well, Alex told me that a few days ago you were back. But seeing you in person...."

'Shuuutt!!! Tapp!!!'

A pebble shot right towards Lucius, where he could easily catch it. Looking at the direction of the shot....

"Oliver?" lucius asked briefly.

"Haha! Many people say you lost your ability. It seems like just a nonsense rumor."

"Emily glad you're okay, Lucius" said the shy girl.

In the distance, the figure of Max who was busy training his punch also greeted.

"Yoo, Lucius. Good to see you back."

At that moment, Lucius understood what he needed to do after this.

Considering that Carmilla is still quite busy training Michelle and Alex simultaneously, Lucius does not want to increase the burden. Because that's it....

Lucius quickly walked towards Max at the back of the class.

"Max, can you help me practice the sword?"

Everyone in this class was shocked. Including Alex himself.

How not? People who are very skilled and talented in the field of magic, now actually ask to be taught the sword?

"Wait Lucius! What did you just say?!" ask Alex to panic.

"Why sword? I know you also use a sword but for witches." asked Sophia in confusion.

Emily was also quite surprised to hear Lucius' words just now. According to him, Lucius is the type of person who loves books and is not very good at using weapons.

Meanwhile Oliver seemed ordinary to see Lucius' attitude just now. For a murderous family like her, no matter how long it could kill the target then that was enough.

There is no limit that a magician should not practice using any other weapon.

"I don't mind being your practice buddy at all but.... You certain? I'm pretty strong, you know?" reply Max with a confident smile.

"Good then." Lucius replied also with a wide smile.

............

After returning from the Academy, Lucius immediately walked home following the footsteps of the rosy-haired youth.

Along the way, he always talked about things in a loud enough voice.

Until finally after about an hour.... Right after the sun starts to set.

Lucius finally arrives at the Thompson family home. The night sky was spread out with sparkling stars that highlighted his long journey.

In contrast to Lucius's shadow, the Thompson family did not live in the city. But outside the walls of the city of Arcanum, precisely in the South region is rather barren.

In this fairly barren and dry, looks magnificent building that became the residence of the Thompson family. Sturdy, beautifully maintained stone walls protect the warmth stored within.

Lucius stepped through a large gate decorated with the Thompson family crest. Behind the gate lay an amazing sight.

A large house with magnificent and elegant classical architecture towered before him. The stepped roofs, framed windows, and balconies decorated with plants make this house look elegant and luxurious.

"Hows it? Big enough, right?" ask Max proudly.

When compared to the villa that the Lucius family had obtained in the Central Plaza, this place was much bigger and grander.

Naturally, because the land around it is quite barren it is not inhabited by many people.

What made Lucius quite happy after stepping foot inside the Thompson family residence were the Holy Knights who did not so dare to approach.

Since this was a fairly influential family territory in the kingdom, even more so a family that often helped in the war, the Church did not want to make trouble with the Thompson family.

Giving Lucius a little space to breathe a sigh of relief in this place.

Going a step further, Lucius arrived at the mercenary barracks located on the South side of the mansion. This large and long building was made of strong bricks, its own arrangement forming like the letter 'U'.

The rumbling sounds of troop training and the clanking of swords echoed in the middle of the barracks. A sizable field with many warriors training their abilities.

Although the ground was somewhat barren, several trees and shrubs appeared to be growing around this training ground. Provides shade during the day and slightly cools the atmosphere around it.

"This is all your army?" asked Lucius who was horrified.

In a single glance, Lucius had at least seen about 200 soldiers who were training on this training field.

"My family team. I still don't have the right to lead the army." Max responded with a smile.

Afterwards, Max is seen leaving Lucius in a hasty move.

"Where?" lucius asked briefly.

"Take my gear. Just a minute."

On the outskirts of this field, Lucius noticed the training movements of these mercenaries. Some of them were seen training against wooden dolls that were given iron armor.

The others were training against other mercenaries.

Although most of them used swords and shields, there was a group of people who were practicing using arrows and bows.

After a while, Max returned.

This was the first time Lucius had seen the other side of his classmate. Max is known to always laugh and seem to act stupid in all situations.

But just after he put on his armor and raised his sword, the familiar figure of Max changed drastically.

'I'm not wrong, he's really trained. But....'

Lucius thought for a moment after seeing Max's reddish sword.

"Ugh, are you sure you're going to use a real sword?" ask Lucius.

"Well, that's right too. Excuse me. Let's start with the wooden sword." replied Max who immediately took out two pieces of wooden sword one hand that was thick enough.

"Thank you." Lucius replied with a faint smile.

Lucius stood upright in the middle of the training field filled with fine sand. He held the wooden sword tightly, feeling its weight in his hand. Before him, Max, a son of a famous mercenary family, is ready to serve Lucius' challenge.

Quickly, Lucius stepped forward, swinging his wooden sword.

'Ttraakk!! Ttra!'kk!!'

Each of his attacks was perfectly directed, showing a deep understanding of martial arts.

"Ooh?! Lucius! I didn't know you were as smart as this with a sword!" max shouted with a wide smile on his face.

Even so, Max was able to fend it off easily.

'I guessed it, is the difference in physical strength?' lucius thought in his heart.

He could clearly sense that Max's current physical strength was much higher than his. Where even Lucius' strongest slash was able to be fended off without needing much effort.

In the midst of this urgent situation....

Lucius ended up using his unique sword technique, Formless Sword Technique. A technique created by the demon Carmilla acquaintance, Mordrek.

The movements of his sword seemed to flow indefinitely, unfathomable and difficult to predict. His sword punch and thrust shot out like lightning, showing his incredible flexibility and adaptability.

"Oioioi?! What the fuck?! Lucius?!" max shouted in surprise with a smile that was widening.

A moment after Lucius used that sword technique, his movements became much more difficult to predict.

Not only that, the speed and weight of his slashes also increased drastically.

The problem....

Max was still able to compensate for Lucius' attack because his physical abilities were indeed much higher at the moment.

"Interesting! How interesting Lucius is!"

'Braaaa!!'kkk!!!'

With a powerful horizontal slash, Max threw Lucius' body a few meters back.

The soldiers who were training seemed to stop all their activities. All for the sake of seeing their Master fight against that unknown person.

"Mr Max got that serious?"

"Who is the opponent?"

"The uniform.... Students at the magic academy? But why would you have the sword ability to match Mr. Max?"

The crowd around the two became increasingly crowded. But they gave enough space for Lucius and Max to fight.

The sound of the sword clashing filled the air, creating a powerful harmony at night that only illuminated the torch around this barracks alone.

After feeling extremely depressed, Lucius finally used one of the moves in that Formless Sword Technique.

'Formless Sword Technique, three consecutive slashes.' cried Lucius in his heart as he raised the wooden sword upwards using both hands.

His name itself doesn't sound so strong. But the movements from this technique are completely deadly if using a real sword. That was how Lucius suggested using a wooden sword.

In an instant, Max who lived in the world of swords could see through it.

In front of him were three slashes that seemed to appear simultaneously from three different sides.

The first slash was a vertical slash that aimed right at his head. Then a second slash was aimed right at his right arm, and the last a third slash was aimed right at his left shoulder.

It's just....

Max could not believe that the three slashes that should be launched one by one, as if coming simultaneously from 3 different directions.

And finally....

'Ttra! Ttrak!! Aka!!!'

'Braa!!!'

Max who received three slashes simultaneously immediately fell to the ground. Not realizing what really happened.

"What the hell was that attack just now?" max complained as he grabbed Lucius' hand.

"Ugghs.... About that...."

"Explain more details to me, boy!"

From a distance, there came the voice of an old man who was so heavy. When Lucius turned his head he could see the figure of an old man with gray hair.

He was wearing a leather armor with a red robe on it. With both arms folded in front of his chest, the old man continued to look at Lucius figure curiously.

"Eh?"

"Your sword technique just now, where did you learn it, and how did you do it. Your fate will be determined based on your answer."

Unknowingly, Lucius managed to save himself from the crocodile cage. But into the lion's den. More precisely, an extremely powerful old lion.
