Seeing such a great power before him, William only had one choice to survive.
Thas right.
William's only choice was to surrender.
If He surrendered, perhaps his life would be saved from Lucius's attack. But....
'Sreeett!!! Ohhhhhh!!!'
William threw his wand far away, then clasped his sword with both hands. Run as fast as you can towards Lucius.
'A magic of that size would take some time to prepare! If I'm fast enough, then I can attack him first! Even chopping off his head!' william thought in his heart.
The speed of his movements was no joke. It is not wrong if he is considered as the seed of class B in the fifth year.
But for Lucius who had mastered Mana control and also Overflow to strengthen his physique, coupled with his near-perfect vision....
'Too slow.' thought Lucius in his heart as he looked at William's movements.
'Klaaangg! Cttaangg!! Ohhhhai!!!'
With ease, Lucius was able to fend off William's entire attack with his sword. While still having some wiggle room to strengthen the fire magic in his left hand.
While exchanging slashes, Lucius tried to make William aware.
"Given your ability, you must know I'm not an opponent you can defeat right?" lucius asked after repelling William ten meters further.
"Although so.." replied William briefly before again darting towards Lucius.
'klaaangg!!! Albaarrr!!!'
Behind the slash of his sword, William shot a fireball right into Lucius' face. Making the young man flung for several meters with a fairly strong flame on his face.
Most of the audience seemed to be cheering with excitement when William managed to give a crushing attack.
But for those who have enough knowledge and experience?
"Damn it, it just got pretty sick as well" said Lucius who immediately got up from the ground with the help of his Mithril sword pedestal. While his left hand still continued to strengthen his fire magic.
'good! I could hurt him! Well then.' thought William. Now he could see a glimmer of hope in this fight.
But to his surprise, Lucius had suddenly been right before him. He pointed his sword right in front of William's neck.
Blood was seen starting to drip from the thin scratches of Mithril's sword.
"Listen, I just want you to realize that I can kill you anytime. So understand, I just want to teach you a lesson." Lucius whispered in an icy tone.
For some reason, William felt an incredible cold. It was so cold that he could not move his legs.
But when William realized it, he could see that both of his legs had frozen. It was covered with ice thick enough to be immobilized.
'Since when?! Don't say?! With feet?! He activated this ice magic by using his legs?!' william thought scared.
He was eager to jump back as far as possible from Lucius at that very instant. With feet like this....
'Bssstttt!!!'
Using fire magic in his right hand, William tried hard to melt the ice on both his legs.
A thing that should have been impossible to do when the enemy was right in front of him, it could have been done by William.
His reason?
"Do you need my help?" lucius asked while showing off his left palm, which had now stored such a deep and hot golden flame.
'Help?! Its bad.... Pretty badly.... I'm going to die!' william thought in his heart.
On that small blaze in Lucius' palm, William could notice it. That the amount of Mana contained in the blaze was far beyond the entirety of Mana it possessed.
If exposed, it is not wrong again will be charred to the bone.
"What's wrong? Afraid? After all that?" asked Lucius who started crouching. He put the fire in his left hand at William's feet.
Not just melting. The ice instantly evaporates into invisible gas due to overheating.
William, who had been freed from the ice that bound him, immediately jumped back as far as possible.
As he looked down, William realized how dangerous the golden-yellow flame was.
'Is that right?! My shoes are even equipped with Rune resistance and reinforcement against the fire element! And you said your fire could scorch it?!' william asked himself, looking at his two feet which were now barefoot with slight burns.
William noticed the figure of Lucius still standing leisurely in the distance. Still continued to strengthen the fire magic in his left hand while giving a look filled with pity.
"It's so sad, William. How are you going to defend your face if you're defeated by a lowly F-class student like me?" ask Lucius.
"Kuzgh.... You're...."
"Rench. If you give up, at least I'll let you live." Lucius continued.
Hearing those words, William finally regained his senses. Of real terror. The terror that He invariably casts upon anyone inferior to him.
Words like do what I want, otherwise I'll kill you.
Those were words that reflected very clearly on himself. Knowing such words was now turning towards him....
"Three.." said Lucius who started the countdown. The magic power in his fireballs had steadily increased drastically since he started counting down.
'Should I give up? To save my life?!' ask William in his heart.
"Two...."
"I.... I.." said William terrified. There was no other choice for him. Avoiding that fire, even more so than Lucius who was much faster than him? It's an impossible thing.
Because that's it....
"One...."
This time, the fire in Lucius' pure left hand made of Mana, started to approach its breaking point. At a glance, a bluish color that is only the size of a needle can be seen in the middle.
It showed that the fire had reached a much higher temperature level. Unaware of that, William immediately shouted with all his might.
"I surrender!!!"
Hearing William's cry, the entire audience fell silent while gaping. Can't believe what they just saw and heard.
Student class B. More so from the fifth year. Giving up on second year F class students.
Imagine it is impossible, but that is the reality.
And quickly, the caretaker of this Arena immediately declared that Lucius Nightshade was the winner of this duel.
Not a single cheering was heard. Only silence....
Which is immediately solved by the presence of a person.
'Stamp!'
"Eh?" lucius was surprised. He opened his eyes wide in disbelief at what had just happened.
A person, with brownish hair dressed in a black robe with a reddish groove, appeared to be standing right before him.
Push his body slowly. Not strong enough to throw it all the way, but strong enough to knock Lucius' body back.
When Lucius turned his face back, he could see it.
A portal that was large enough, with enough size to accommodate several adults.
With the body falling through the space portal behind him, Lucius could faintly hear it.
A sentence that will change his life forever.
"I've found you, blue fire."
