The Demon Queen's Disciple

The Demon Queen's Disciple
Chapter 27 - The Unexpected Meeting

'Zraaatt! Sraaasshh!! Braakk!'

"Faulia...."

Lucius swung his sword quickly to clear the Goblin's blood.

Now in front of him, was a pile of Goblin bodies scattered in all directions.

'Good work. You've been increasing.' Carmilla praised after seeing Lucius fight under the light of this dwindling crescent.

Hearing that compliment, Lucius was not at all pleased. For him, the road is still very far to be satisfied with his achievements.

"It's just a Goblin. Not something worthy of praise." Lucius replied as he wiped the sweat on his forehead wearing his robe.

After burning the Goblin's body completely, Lucius resumed his exploration. This time it was deep in this dark forest.

Far from the main road that connects the city of Arcanum with various other cities and villages, of course the area explored by Lucius is very dangerous.

Not only monsters, there was a great chance that the bandits established their headquarters in the depths of this forest.

And for Lucius who was currently, fighting against other humans was still too heavy.

At least that's what's on his mind.

After walking for about 15 minutes, Lucius saw something that surprised him.

'Sruuugg!'

Quickly, Lucius immediately hid behind the trees and extinguished the fire in his left hand.

What he saw was a fairly large but regular fire. In other words....

"Is someone there?" lucius asked himself as he tried to look at the fireplace.

After a better look, Lucius could see a neat arrangement of bonfires. Complete with smoke racks and also iron grids to burn meat on top of the campfire.

Although rough and impressed made using the equipment perfunctory, but everything looks to work well.

'Bruk! Bruk! Bruk!!'

Shortly after, someone.... Or rather something seemed to be walking towards that fireplace.

His heavy and slow footsteps made a sound loud enough to break the silence in this forest.

And when Lucius saw the figure of that thing....

Both of his eyes immediately opened. His body began to tremble. Similarly, his two hands reflexively cover his mouth and nose to minimize the sound he makes.

'The troll?! In here?! Whyyy?! Isn't the Troll only in the Northern mountains?! Wait....'

At that moment, Lucius remembered. That the Northern region of the human Kingdom about 2 months ago was exposed to an invasion from the barbarians.

Make not only humans, but also monsters move to find a new place to live.

In other words this Troll....

"Carmilla? What am I supposed to do?" asked Lucius in a voice as slow as possible.

But no matter how long Lucius waited for him, Carmilla gave absolutely no reply. Not even a word.

Carmilla had time to praise him. Why is Carmilla missing now?

'Damn it! Why at such an important time?!' lucius cried out in his heart.

He glanced back at the fireplace. Seeing the figure of the huge Troll tearing up the venison he hunted easily, then burning it on top of his bonfire.

'Three.... Three and a half meters? No, maybe four meters?! While weight.... Maybe 400 or 500 pounds more? Its bad.... Very badly.' Lucius thought.

Based on all the lessons he had taken in the academy, of course he had read about this monster called Troll.

With its massive body that can reach 4 meters more, the Troll is blessed with physical strength that is far beyond the common man's reasoning.

Even among the Dragon or Dragonnewt races, the power of the Troll was still far superior. The only weakness of the Trolls is that they have no magic power.

Thus making another intelligent race that is quite master of magic can fight it.

'It even said it takes 8 Dragonnewts or 20 human warriors to fight a Troll. Did i....'

First, is the Troll's unrivalled physical strength.

And secondly.... It is their hearing ability that is very sharp. Just a little suspicious movement from Lucius to run away from this place, would make the Troll realize its existence.

And with his physical strength, the Troll was able to easily catch up to Lucius.

Unlike Goblins that store their prey, Trolls will not hesitate to kill to eat it directly.

It was because they could always hunt new prey to meet their enormous food needs.

"Damn it, Carmilla! Say something!" whispered Lucius once more.

No different from before, Carmilla still did not give a reply at all. Allowing Lucius to solve this problem on his own.

In the end, Lucius began to breathe deeply. Try to think positively in the midst of this bad situation.

'Think about it. This isn't the first time Carmilla has left me alone. Is correct. Just like when fighting Damon. In other words, Carmilla was testing me.' Lucius thought.

He glanced back at the troll. From a distance, it can be seen the Troll was enjoying the roasted venison. Not even his bones.

'The distance between myself and the Troll was about 20 meters. The chance of escape is close to 0 percent. In other words....'

'Glek!'

Lucius swallowed his saliva. Prepare yourself for this heavy choice.

In this careless Troll state, Lucius thought that he might be able to deliver a surprise attack.

Hence....

'Icicle Spear's.'

Lucius raised his left hand. Creating a bluish magic circle that was as big as his palm.

On it, it created an ice spear that was quite large and sharp. Little by little it started getting bigger.

And when its size becomes as long as its body and as thick as its arms....

...'Swuuuusshhhhh!!!'...

Lucius threw it with all his might. The target is the big head of that Troll.

Accurate shot. His speed was more than enough. And the power of destruction is enormous. If it were to hit a human, it would probably have hollowed out his body and killed him directly.

Unmistakably, Lucius would be able to kill the Troll in one strike.

Or the....

That's what's on his mind.

'Sruuggs!'

Shortly after Lucius threw the ice spear, the Troll's ears were seen moving rapidly. Capturing the sound of his ice spear throwing that blew the air around.

And quickly....

...'Srruuugg! Awaaaaakk!!!'...

...'Pyaaaaarrr!!!'...

The troll raised his wooden mace, swinging it right at the ice spear thrown by Lucius.

Crush it to pieces. It became ice dust that only soaked the giant body of the Troll.

With his gaze so terrifying, the Troll began to open his mouth and speak.

"Humans.... Kill.." he said while showing off his sharp and large fangs.

Seeing his perfect plan crumble just like that, just because of the sound from the wind pressure when Lucius threw it....

"Aaah, this is bad. Aren't I going to die here?" lucius said to himself while laughing.

No more surprise attacks. No more chances to escape. What Lucius could do right now, was simply face it head-on.

With all his abilities.
