The Demon Queen's Disciple

The Demon Queen's Disciple
Chapter 22 - Hunting

'Sruuugg! Oruuugg!!'

Lucius walked slowly in the middle of this dark forest. Only the small fireball in his left hand was illuminated in the middle of this forest.

'You're not cold?' carmilla asked briefly considering that Lucius was only wearing an ordinary t-shirt plus one layer of a thin brownish robe.

"Hmm? No?" reply brief.

'Then it doesn't matter.' Carmilla replied.

In the midst of this silence, Lucius continued to search for monsters that could be used as a means of training.

But after nearly an hour of walking deeper into this forest, Lucius did not find any monsters at all.

Only a few deer and rabbits ran around after hearing Lucius' footsteps.

As Lucius looked up into the sky, he could see the crescent moon giving off a dim light. At that very moment, he remembered something he had always wanted to know.

"Hey, Carmilla. Why would.... Me?"

'What do you mean?' carmilla asked back with a bit of confusion.

"Why choose me as your soul container? Didn't you always say I wasn't talented or anything? Is there nothing else?" asked Lucius, now more detailed.

Lucius's eyes were still fixed on the moon in the sky, which was now beginning to be covered by thin clouds.

Carmilla seemed silent. Thinking of the right answer to give to the young man.

And finally....

'There's no excuse.'

"Eh?"

Lucius was surprised to hear that answer. He could not believe that Carmilla really had no reason to choose him as the container of his soul.

"Sorry, no excuses? What's that supposed?" lucius asked as he scrunched his face.

'In short, you were the first to find me. If I miss that chance, I don't know when I'll get kicked out of there. So sorry if I get rid of your pet dog, Carmilla replied at length.

What Carmilla meant was the wolf that Lucius was supposed to call, Fae Fawn.

At the time of the summoning, Carmilla foils a contract between Lucius and Fae Fawn. Before finally forcing Lucius to be bound by a contract with him.

"Is that so? Can't you move if you regret entering my body?" ask Lucius again.

'Can't do. We're under contract, you know?' reply Carmilla in a slightly cheerful tone.

While the two were still busy talking to each other, several monsters started to approach. The sound of their footsteps stepping on the leaves and bushes could be clearly heard.

'!!!'

Quickly, Lucius drew his sword and prepared to fight.

The fireball in his left hand was noticeably enlarged, providing a much clearer illumination in the surrounding area.

And when Lucius looked back....

"Grrrraaar!!!"

"Graaaaaaarr!!!"

A herd of Goblins was seen walking towards him. They numbered about 10, and each carried a different weapon.

Looking at their equipment alone, Lucius knew that they were all stolen weapons from humans.

Even though it had become much stronger, the fear embedded within Lucius towards the Goblins was still so much.

His heart was pounding as he remembered himself being eaten alive. Cut off one part of his body to cook.

Not to mention....

Remembering what the monster did to the girl who was with him....

"Well.... Huh.... Huh...."

Lucius' breathing began to become irregular. Even his body started to tremble nonstop.

Moreover, without Lucius noticing the fireball in his left hand was starting to weaken. The atmosphere in the forest became darker. And in the end, it reminded Lucius of the darkness in the Goblin cave.

'Am I strong enough? I won't get caught again, will I?' lucius asked in his own heart with a sweat that continued to pour out incessantly.

Without waiting for his opponent to be ready, one of the Goblins began to attack.

'Shuuuuuttt!!!'

An arrow from the old wooden bow shot swiftly towards Lucius. Stuck right on his left shoulder.

"Agodgh!!" lucius shouted in pain.

Lucius's trauma to the Goblins did not seem to have completely disappeared. Even though he has gained the strength he wants.

'Shuuuuuttt!!!'

Blood began to flow slowly in both wounds. Dropped the brown robe he was wearing in a dark red color.

"Ca-Carmilla, can you...."

'No.' Carmilla responded quickly, cutting off Lucius' unfinished words.

Carmilla knew that Lucius was asking for her help to deal with the situation. And it was because of this situation that Carmilla would allow Lucius to fight with all her might.

Because the first step for Lucius to become even stronger, of course, was to throw away all his fear.

Including her trauma.

"Graaaaarrrr!!!"

Three Goblins were seen running towards Lucius, aiming their rusty swords and attacking Lucius simultaneously.

'Sraaasshh! Kraaasshh! Zraaatt!'

His thin brown robe began to tear on various sides. Shows his scratched and bloody skin.

At that moment, Lucius decided.

'Swuuuushh!!!'

A red magic circle above the back of his right hand began to appear. The size is not so large, but has a Mana intensity that is so concentrated.

The magic circle was none other than the demonic magic that Carmilla had taught her.

'With this, it will definitely be easy to....'

Without Lucius guessing, Carmilla took over his body forcibly for just a moment. Carmilla's goal is only one.

That is to undo the demon magic.

"Carmilla?" asked Lucius in panic, who now began to run away from the pursuit of about 10 Goblins.

'Lucius. You've been far more than enough to kill them all. If you've always depended on demonic magic, then you won't be able to thrive.

While still running, several arrows stuck in Lucius' body from behind. He injured his back and legs.

'Braa!!!'

With that limp, trembling, fear-filled body, Lucius fell to the ground.

The fire in his left hand that was extinguished made the true darkness in this forest begin to reveal its fangs.

Silence and darkness, only the sound of footsteps and the screams of the Goblins rang out in his head.

And in the midst of that silence....

'Have?' ask Carmilla briefly.

Lucius could only fall silent, unable to answer a word. Not just because I didn't understand what Carmilla meant. But also because Lucius' mind was still filled with various things.

'You didn't get hurt that bad, did you?' ask Carmilla again.

"What do you mean?" reply Lucius with a face facing the ground.

Hordes of Goblins who previously ran, now seen walking slowly while laughing. Surrounding Lucius' body that had been lying on the ground, helpless.

'Come on, you know what I mean, right?'

"Damn it, why are you blurting out such a confusing thing at times like this?" asked Lucius annoyed.

Without Lucius realizing it, his fear and trauma of the Goblins had now turned into an annoyance at Carmilla's attitude.

'Look, you're still healthy, right?'

Just with that joyful breathing question from Carmilla, Lucius came to a realization.

That all this compared to Carmilla's hellish training that seemed to be able to kill her at any time....

A smile began to be seen on Lucius' face. Shortly after, a light laugh could be heard.

"Well.... Haha.... Haha..... What the hell am I doing?" lucius said to himself.

His right hand began to grab a stone the size of his hand. Before quickly throwing it right into one of the surrounding Goblins.

'Swuuuusshh! Aaaaaakkkk!!!'

With just one stone throw, the face of the Goblin hit by the throw was shattered. With a lot of blood flowing from his face.

"Graaaaarrrr!!!" yelled the other goblin. Now, their laughter began to fade. Only anger and hatred existed in the minds of those monsters.

Lucius himself began to rise from the ground with the help of his sword.

"Haha.... Youre right. Why am I afraid of them? Aren't I no longer what I used to be?" lucius asked Carmilla, now standing ready to face about 10 Goblins.

Faintly, a thin greenish light wrapped the wounds all over Lucius' body. He healed him slowly as he fought with his sword.
