The Demon Queen's Disciple

The Demon Queen's Disciple
Chapter 63 - Duel

'Sruugg! Naug!!'

Lucius walked slowly in that Arena. His sandy soil was deep enough to make every step of his foot sound so loud.

From all directions, the voices of the spectators began to sound. The audience is students and teachers at this academy.

It did not rule out the possibility of spectators from outside the academy. Just like that group of Goldencrest royals sitting on that VVIP seat. Watching this game from the best of places.

Besides them....

Lucius recognized the face of a person from that line of spectators. A woman with long brown hair tied in a ponytail. He watched while standing in front of one of the pillars of this Arena building.

On his back was a large sword that was neatly bound. Ready to use at any time.

"Guild Masters? Why is he here?" lucius asked in a soft voice to himself.

Not a single spectator cheered as he stepped foot in the middle of this Arena. But as soon as William's name was called by the manager of this fight....

"Wuuuooooohhh!!!"

"Defeat him, William!"

"Give the boy a lesson!!!"

Various shouts of support could be heard so loudly from all directions. Even including teachers and professors from E class and above, all supported William.

Only one person is not.

"Professor Levaria! Please understand! Lucius is just a student in class F! Even in the second year! There was no way he could win against the fifth year B-class William!" shouted the old Mr. Anderson as he continued to plead with a woman before him.

The woman appears to have long hair that is always tied neatly, with a blue color that is quite dark and impressed so deep. On top of that, he wore a pair of glasses tied to a thin chain around his neck.

In a charming white dress under the black robe of the Damacia academy, she pushed Anderson with her left hand.

"Stay away from me, senile old man. Lucius himself received this duel. After all, Goldencrest is the biggest donor family in the academy. There's no way we're canceling this duel for just one F-class student, is there?" professor Levaria said.

As the academy's leading and most talented professor, Levaria Silverhide was given the responsibility of managing the academy as the academy's head.

If he wanted to, he could just cancel this Duel and save one life.

That's what Mr. Anderson thinks. He thought about how Lucius would fare if he had to fight students who had even gone through border wars.

Even so....

"That's Mr. Anderson. Let it be, after all, Lucius' own choice." said Professor Magnus next door.

"Professor Magnus! Please help me convince the head of the academy about this!" shouted Mr. Anderson who continued to plead.

After helping Anderson get up, Professor Magnus only gave a cynical smile as he spoke.

"After all, Lucius was not a talented student and always made trouble. I've warned him many times, so let this be the lesson" Professor Magnus said.

Feeling hopeless, Mr. Anderson could only lift his legs. Leaving behind the ranks of the Professors who had been influenced by that noble family.

Those who are supposed to be educators, are blinded by the 'donations' given by the parents of the nobles who studied at this academy.

"Lucius.... I'm sorry.." complained Mr. Anderson to himself. Until he saw what was in the middle of the Arena.

............

Meanwhile in the middle of the Arena....

The figure of William Goldencrest looks so stunning. Unmistakable of his confidence as well as his horses, William was a very strong man.

However, he managed to serve on the front lines. Through a terrible war with another kingdom.

Using a sword in his left hand and a wand in his right hand, William seemed ready to finish Lucius off at any moment.

"Lucius, any last words before I send you to hell?" ask William arrogantly.

He looked down at Lucius standing before him. Not only came from the lowest F class, not even one supported him in this academy.

But after a moment of hearing William's words, Lucius fell silent. Standing with eyes that seemed so tired.

"Hoaaaahm.... Do you want to start?" asked Lucius while yawning.

Ever since Lucius began to rest his body from the extreme exercise, inexplicably he felt tired. Perhaps his long-buried fatigue began to emerge.

"You.... I-i understand. Your confidence comes from Damon, right?" asked William with a sharp look.

"Huh? Damien? I'm sorry, I stayed up last night so I'm still a little sleepy." said Lucius, who yawned a few more times.

"Damon Emberheart's. After defeating that C-class student, you think you can win against me? Don't get me wrong. Class C in the second year was the equivalent of class E in the fifth year." replied William annoyed.

"Wait, I don't understand what you're saying at all." said Lucius, who made a puzzled expression. He raised one of his eyebrows while speaking.

"alright. Then I'll show you how your pride will be the beginning of your death." William replied.

In his mind, William was focused on Lucius who stood so relaxed. Not even putting up the horses in preparation for this fight.

Not only that....

'What the fuck is this snot boy?! He doesn't even hold any weapons?! Is he really stupid?! Or..' thought William in his heart solemnly.

A few moments later....

"Duel, begin!!!" shouted one of the managers in this Arena.

In less than half a second after hearing that the match was starting, William quickly started his attack.

He started by using a magic wand in his right hand. Spitting out such a hot sea of flames without the need to create a magic formation.

From his left hand, he swung his sword. Making a very powerful wind element slash. Not only to split Lucius' body in two, but also to strengthen his fire magic.

Lucius who was still seen standing leisurely before him, made William convinced.

That this F-class snot boy will die right then and there.

But....

'Zraaatt!!!'

With two fingers of his right hand, Lucius made a Trias Shield formation in front of him that formed like rhombus. Protects his entire body from the front.

He did it in just a split second. Not even fast enough for the eyes of the audience to see it in person.

Except....

'Braa!!!'

"Chairman?" asked the big man, who was Ethan after seeing the girl next to him rise from his chair all of a sudden.

The girl with beautiful silver hair and purplish eyes was none other than Luna Frostbourne.

"Ti-impossible." said Luna with a trembling body. It was as if he had just seen such a terrifying monster.

Shortly after, Luna's limp body instantly fell to the ground just like that. With both knees as the focus.

One of his eyes was slightly glowing, indicating that he had just used the Clairvoyance Eye to see the fight just now.

And from what he saw....

"Chairman? You all right? What's up?" ethan asked who was trying to help Luna to stand up.

"He's.... Is it really Lucius Nightshade?" asked Luna in such a soft voice.

His face paled with cold sweat pouring out all over his body. Even as Ethan tries to help her sit back down, he can feel Luna's body still so limp.

"of course. What's up?" ask Ethan again.

"With which one has even surpassed me? You sure?"

"Eh?"

Just then, Ethan looked back at the Arena. From behind the flames that began to disappear, the figure of Lucius still stood quietly without the slightest injury on his body.

Ethan finally realizes what Luna just said. Shortly after, a feeling of horror and fear began to spread throughout his body.

"What's up, William? Just this way?" asked Lucius who was trying to provoke William.

"Huh?! N-no way?!"

The spectators who saw this match, were all very confident that Lucius should have died with the attack just now. So why is he still standing?

More than that....

"Then it's my turn? I will teach you how to use fire magic" Lucius said in a cold tone.

His right hand seemed to reach to the side of his left neck, as if it were reaching for something invisible.

From beside his neck, a small magic portal appeared where his right hand grabbed the Mithril sword made by Brown Smithworks and pulled it slowly.

While his left hand seems to collect fire magic without neatness and also without the slightest magic formation.

Despite looking so small, William was able to notice that the small flame accumulated in Lucius' left hand was much stronger than his sea of flames just now.

'Space magic?! H-how could he learn magic that complex?! Aren't there only a handful of people in this kingdom who can use space magic?! Moreover, didn't he create a magic formation to activate it?! Then.... What the hell with that fire?!' william thought scared.

He had just realized that Lucius' confidence did not come from his stupidity. Rather the confidence that comes from absolute strength itself.

"So, William. You ready?"
