14. Black Forest

The next morning came, my parents were busy repairing the damage to the house. Luckily my mother acted quickly using her magic ability to get rid of the fire. It reminds me how powerful and useful magic is.

I can't do much to help fix the house. I don't know anything about building materials. So my parents let me do what I used to do.

While my parents were busy repairing the house, this was a good time to carry out the plans I had made. I decided that today I would head to the black forest.

It was called a black forest because all the creatures and beasts in the forest were black-feathered.

My goal was to hunt some basic level creatures to use in my plan. It will also help my training, so it can be called killing two birds with one stone.

The chances of me meeting other mid-level beasts are very low. Even if I meet her this time, I will leave her.

Not that since I have defeated a mid-level wolf before, I can defeat other mid-level beasts. There are many different kinds of creatures and there are some that are stronger than others.

As soon as I entered the forest, I activated the eyes of the dragon. The gaze in front of me changed and I began to see many red aura spots all over the forest. While the yellow aura indicates a human and the red indicates an animal.

I'm moving towards the nearest red spot I can see. As I got closer to the red dot, I could see the shape of the beast, it was a wolf beast.

I continued hunting animals as I walked towards the area where Bob and Kyle were missing, here most of them were wolves, but here too there were feathered Monkeys.

The monkey was covered in black fur with one horn sticking out from the top of its head. Monkeys are harder to hunt than wolves because they are more agile and can climb trees.

Those monkeys could easily dodge my sword slash, as I used my beast form. They also have the ability to climb tall trees and hide quickly.

After defeating the monkey, a message appeared before me.

I was surprised, after defeating around twenty ferocious beasts, the message finally appeared. This time it was a basic level crystal, not an intermediate level crystal.

I continued hunting again around ten ferocious beasts, another message appeared.

With this, I can deduce that the crystal stone appeared randomly. I must have been lucky to have obtained one medium-tier crystal stone from the wolf back then.

I finally got to where Bob and Kyle's body was last seen. Now the traces of blood had completely disappeared. I activated the dragon's eyes again. As I thought, even though the traces of blood had disappeared, it still showed a faint aura glow on the ground.

I followed the trail of the aura until I was finally in a small cave. My eyes could see that the cave was not too deep, only about ten feet wide. Inside the cave, there were two faint yellow aura lights and an extremely small red glow.

Whatever the beast was, it was too small to threaten me. I entered the cave and saw two bodies on the floor. They were already unrecognizable, all of their meat had been eaten away. If it wasn't for the fact that they were wearing clothes, I wouldn't be able to say that it was them.

I took the clothes from their corpses and put them in a bag. As I was about to leave the cave, I heard the sound of animals crying from inside. Curiosity took hold of me and decided to see what it was.

I went deeper into the cave until I reached a dead end. When I looked down, a wolf puppy the size of a ball whimpered. He looked hungry as if he had not eaten for days. His mother had most likely been killed, as puppies this small could not hunt for food on their own.

I kneeled towards the wolf boy, I looked at him with sympathy because I knew what it was like to be alone.

Suddenly a message window appeared.

I was still unfamiliar with the system and was surprised by what I saw. This strange system sometimes feels like it has a mind of its own.

The system showed images of crystal stones, not food or water. It was as if the system was telling me to give the crystal stone to the wolf boy.

This is a good opportunity for me to see if absorbing the crystal is dangerous or not, I took out a basic-grade crystal stone.

A small black crystal began to appear from thin air directly in front of the wolf cub. The wolf boy immediately started licking the crystal. The crystal quickly became smaller in size until it completely disappeared.
