24. Pig Fanged

I've always liked Wilfred. He reminds me so much of my father.

He also has peace of mind in whatever conditions make you think as long as you trust him everything will be fine. His appearance hasn't changed in ten years either, I can't guess how old Wilfred really is.

I was deep in my mind thinking about my father. I haven't seen him in ten years. I don't know how she is.

As if Wilfred could read my mind, he put his hand on my shoulder.

"Your father's condition is fine. Your mother took good care of him, I went there to make sure of his situation with one of the knights before coming here."

I started to smile

"Thank you"

"How do you recognize the two of us, we've changed so much over the past ten years?" ask Gary.

"The blonde boy and the redhead boy who fought with us against the bear beast, how could I forget such a thing, I'm not that old."

"How old are you?" Gary began to look at Wilfred from top to bottom seeing that his performance had not changed in ten years.

"Well, that's my secret, man."

The three of us started laughing. Seeing this scene, the other students around us started whispering to each other.

"Isn't that Mr Wilfred?"

"How can they relate well to him"

"They must be from a strong family"

Wilfred heard the students around us talking, decided to say goodbye immediately and left us.

In front came a man who did not look much older than us, but had a large strong body and carried the Avrion emblem. He held a piece of paper in his hand.

"For the future students of the Avrion academy, I am Lancy's master bodyguard. All of you must obey my orders at all times unless someone of a higher rank intervenes. It's time for us to continue our journey towards Avrion Academy, for the journey will take about seven days"

Behind him, five carriages had appeared, each carriage could accommodate around ten students. The students had boarded the carriage while the knights were traveling on horses.

There were a total of six knights including lord Wilfred. The guard master was the second highest official there, while the other knights were ordinary bodyguards assigned to guard each carriage.

Once everyone is ready. Trains and horses set off for Avrion's academy. I'm so happy to finally leave this place and happy to hear the journey will take seven days. This means I have a chance to get some more crystal stones.

We had been traveling for a few hours, the sun had set. We decided to camp on the side of the trail near the forest. We camped out in the open but the knights said not to worry too much because there were not many high-level beasts in the area here and guarded in turns.

Each student was given a sleeping bag and shared a tent with his partner. I paired up with Gary and shared a tent together.

In the middle of the night when everyone was asleep, it was time for me to go hunting. I activated the dragon eye skill to make sure that the guards were patrolling in different areas. With my dragon eyes, it made it very easy for me to sneak out.

I entered the forest and started to look around to see if there were any magical beasts I could defeat. With the dragon eye skill, I detected there were some basic level beasts in the area.

"Lucky," I thought to myself.

This was a good opportunity to try taking out the crystal stone yourself. I went towards the first target closest to me. Then I started monitoring, I did not want to risk anything and wanted to see what kind of magical beast it was.

Hiding behind the bushes, I saw the creature closer. It was a fanged boar. A powerful creature that can use its two large front teeth to bite and crush bones. Although not as fast as a wolf or as nimble as a bear falls.

I came out of the bushes and made myself visible to the boar. The pig looked at me. it started to swipe its feet on the ground getting ready to attack.

As the boar started attacking towards me at the last moment before it could reach me, I jumped into the air and landed on its back. I quickly stabbed the boar behind its head making the beast fall to the ground.

I'm out of luck because the notification didn't show this time. I decided to use a knife to open the inside of the boar to see if I could still get the crystal that way.

What surprised me was that there was a crystal stone inside the boar. I held the crystal in my hand and tried to absorb it. A few moments later nothing happened. That crystal is still in my hands, maybe I can only absorb the crystals obtained using the system?

I kept exploring in the woods and made sure I didn't get out too far from the camp. After defeating the two Fanged Pigs again, a message appeared.

for now, I keep the crystal for later use. I have a thought I want to test. I started using my sword to open the boar's skin to look for the crystal again. This time no crystals could be found.

It seemed like the crystals obtained from the system could randomly be absorbed. While if it did not obtain the crystal from the system, the crystal remained inside the ferocious beast.

When I was disturbed by this thought. I heard a very loud snort coming from behind me. I turned around and saw a fang the size of a horse.

It was a mid-level Fanged Pig.
