49. Wagering

Ray begins to walk around the dorm hall asking other students where Sebastion lives. Luckily Sebastion was an unpopular person around here, similar to me, so it wasn't long until someone gave me a clue as to where he lived.

While walking towards Sebastion's room, Ray was thinking about how to get him to agree to a ranking match. People didn't know Ray's current ranking after defeating Eric, so they didn't know what my fighting skills were like. There's no point in Sebastion fighting a low-ranking battle like me.

At the same time, Ray did not want to tell him that Ray was the one who obtained the ninth rank for fear that it would scare him. Ray thinks hard for a while and finds something that may be difficult for Sebastion to resist.

Ray was told that Sebastion was coming from Silvertown, meaning he would be in that part of the building. When Ray had just approached the outside of the building, Ray was surprised to see a group of five people waiting.

A tall handsome man with silver hair advanced from the group.

"I heard someone was looking for me, is that you?"

Sebastion is a tall man for a boy his age. As he stood in front of me, he was at least two heads taller than me. But I was not afraid, I had faced a savage beast that was bigger and scarier than him now.

"How did you know?" Ray asked.

"Information spread quickly, I heard someone looking for me, once I saw the black sash you used, I could immediately guess why you came here. You want revenge for your friend, don't you?"

Ray restrained his anger with all his strength, If Ray could cut off his head here right now, but with the power I have, it would be impossible to escape the Avrion Academy."

"Let's do a ranking match, me and you."

Sebastion started laughing.

"What did I get to do that match with you, I've beaten the best of the black belt group, and Gary, just tell me he's special, but you? You're just a curse that destroys everything you touch, not even your friend."

"If you win, you can have this."

Ray took out his hand from the pouch and showed two medium-level spirit beast Crystals.

"How can a man like you have it?"

Middle-level crystals had high marks for new students in the avrion academy. Students were not allowed to use their gear in training but after basic training was completed, we were allowed to hunt outside.

Having a few mid-level crystals rather than base-level crystals will allow you to create higher grade equipment, giving you a good start.

"My father was an adventurer, he gifted it to me before leaving, but I haven't had the money to find a forge to turn it into anything. If you defeat me, you can have both."

Ray thought of persuading Sebastion by using the crystal of a savage beast. Ray hopes that Sebastion will be arrogant enough to think that there is no way he can lose.

"Again, but I want that match in front of everyone at the training ground. Anyway, I don't want anyone to think I forced you to take this crystal from you."

"All right."

We walked down each other's street and I started to go back to my room to make preparations for tomorrow. On the way back to the dorm, Ray meets Kyle.

"Ray, I just heard you were going to fight with Sebastion are you Crazy! He'll kill you, you don't see what he did to the monk."

"Kyle, believe me, I want you to help me, can you make a bet like Gary and the monk for my fight with Sebastion?"

"Yes, of course, I can, but even if you plan on betting for yourself to make a lot of money, I don't think that's the right way."

I looked towards Kyle with both of my hands on his shoulder not saying a word. Kyle finally gave up.

"Well, well, I can't stop you, I'll help you at least lest you lose to him."

"Of course."

We both split up and prepare for tomorrow.

The next day the students came out and practiced outside but just like before everyone only focused on one thing. The fight between student number two and student sash black.

This fight has been announced. Many people were attracted to the black sash students after the performances given by the Monk. They were interested to see how well they could do against Sebastion. However, the ones supporting Sebastion were very high as expected.

The fight will soon begin with the two contestants now standing face to face. The crowd quickly formed with Ray and Sebastion in the middle.

Earlier in the day, Kyle went around collecting money as ordered by Ray. Most people bet on Sebastion to win the game except for two people, it was Gary and Eric. They were the only ones who had fought Ray seriously.

Ray's roommate stood beside watching nervously. And was the first to speak.

"So how long do you think Ray's gonna last?"

"I just hope he doesn't get hurt" Ian said.

Gary and Slyvia are the only ones with different opinions.

"I don't think this fight will go as we expected" Slyvia said.

"Oh, how blind is love" Dan said.

"If you can't see how strong Ray is, then maybe you're blind." Sylvia said annoyed.

And wanted to retaliate but the fight was about to start so everyone's attention was now focused on the people in front of them.

As the fight was about to begin, the contestants stared at each other at the invitation in their communicators. Sebastion's eyes shrank at what he had seen.

"No wonder you're so confident, so you're the one who beat Eric!" Sebastion.

Everyone around was shocked by what they heard. Especially the students who had fought Ray before. They knew that his previous ranking was marked 250+.

This new information makes the fight even more interesting.
