The Reincarnation of the Red Dragon

The Reincarnation of the Red Dragon
27. Evolution

Before arriving at the castle, I entered Noir first, although making a beast into a pet was common to some people, it only applied to magicians, even though making a beast into a pet was common to some people, it only applied to witches, because knights do not have the ability to tame beasts.

After sneaking back into the castle, I immediately lay down to rest. I was surprised that Slyvia didn't tell the guards about my departure. I think humans only care about themselves, so if it doesn't hurt them then they'll ignore it.

As usual, the beautiful sound of bells woke us up. We continued our journey on the train, only this time I always got a gaze from someone while inside the carriage.

"Hey, is it just my feelings or is Sylvia always staring at you?" asked Gary.

"Isn't it usually like that, they're looking at me because of this red hair." Ray said as if he didn't care about that look.

"Yes, but you're not the only one with red hair, but he's never looked at you like this before."

I shrugged at Gary's reply because I didn't care. Most likely he was looking at me because of what happened last night. The reason why Gary mentioned something like this is because I'm not the only person with red hair on this trip.

When I got to Renny's town there were four other redheads. Each of them was assigned a private tutor and a special guard who was the same as me. Maybe the kingdom also believes in the curse and wants to keep us under control.

At night, we stopped to set up camp. This time the conditions were less supportive as we were surrounded by swamps. We moved to a nearby hill so we wouldn't get too close to the swamp. The students began to complain because of the current conditions, caused by the unpleasant smell and their clothes were dirty due to being exposed to mud.

They ostensibly sought to be the breakers of the group, because the often complaining ones came from the noble families, the, as for the other students are already familiar with the condition because they have experience while they are in the village.

I'm happy with the conditions like this, it allows there to be several different beasts here. I've got everything I need against a fanged pig.

As the sun set and was replaced by the moon, I went off to start my hunt. This time I caught Slyvia looking at me before I left like before, I decided to ignore her and kept walking, she didn't say anything last time, so I don't think he's going to do it this time either.

Upon entering the swamp, I called Noir and we started hunting. With the two of us doing the hunt, we managed to collect the crystals twice as fast. We found many different magical beasts like sharp-toothed worms.

Sharp-toothed worms are the same size as humans, they have razor-sharp teeth on the inside of their mouths that are used to swallow their victims whole and then grind them.

Although the sharp-toothed worm is very powerful, it is only dangerous if you are caught by it. With my dragon eye skill and speed above average, the worm had no chance of catching me.

We found a wild beehive but I sensed there was a middle-level beast inside and decided not to face it. The problem was not because the beast was strong, but because there were many such beasts in its nest.

I was like getting a jackpot while doing this swamp hunt, it seems this swamp became a breeding ground for a variety of different creatures. I was so happy with the crystal we obtained that I forgot about time. The sun will rise in about an hour.

Before returning, I decided to feed all the crystals we obtained today to Noir. While feeding Noir, I got even more excited when I saw the number increase by 36.48.67.88.94 and finally 100.

As soon as Noir increased his points, a message window popped up.

Although I did expect this kind of result, but in the end I was very surprised by everything. I immediately chose "yes" to see what would happen.

My jaw was wide open, I was very surprised because at school I never learned about magical beasts that had branches while evolving. If it wasn't for the system, whether the animal could have chosen what it wanted to evolve, or perhaps the environment would have influenced what it evolved to look like.

For me who has always been a dragon, there is no evolutionary choice like this, we have been at the top of the food chain since we were born. We cannot evolve.

The message provides two evolutionary path choices.

Horned Wolf

A wolf with black horns on its forehead. Although not physically strong, its main strength focuses on speed. These wolves also have little immunity to elemental effects.

Black Wolf

A large wolf can grow up to 8 meters. Its main characteristic is the strength that resides in its claws. It can also be used as a mount but is weak against elemental attacks.

It looks like option B is the same kind of wolf I faced in the black forest with Gary. Option B was very tempting to me for being able to ride that Wolf.

Wolves are much faster than horses, meaning the moment I wanted to travel out of the Avrion academy, he said, I can leave quickly and also I am sure that he is able to run very fast when dealing with high-level ferocious beasts.

While option A appears slightly weaker than option B, it means they will have more opportunities for wolves to grow stronger in the future. Not many ferocious beasts carried out elemental attacks at the lower levels.

In the end, I decided to choose option A, the fact that the black wolf was so big could be my biggest obstacle for now. I want to remain careful with such a large creature, everyone will always pay attention to me.

I went ahead and chose option B, suddenly Noir disappeared and went back into my mind. I tried calling Noir again, then a notification message popped up.

I can only wait, because there is nothing that can be done to speed up the evolutionary process.

The sun was starting to rise which meant that everyone would wake up soon. I immediately ran back to the camp as fast as I could.
