The Reincarnation of the Red Dragon

The Reincarnation of the Red Dragon
04. The Test of Being a Witch

My second birthday is coming up and I'm more excited than ever, why? because at the age of two you can be tested to see if you have the ability to become a witch.

My mother took me to the center of the royal city of Alure. It was a few miles from our house. We had to travel by train and it took a few days. Our hometown is quite small and lacks the equipment needed to know if you have any magical abilities or not. So my mother decided to take me to the nearest town.

It turns out that if your parents are witches, you have a high chance of becoming a witch as well, it is not always 100% but a large number of Witch children follow their parents.

So my mother had high hopes for me, of course I also had no doubts in my mind that I would become a witch.

After all, the Dragon is the master of magic, we have more magic power than we know what to do.

We finally arrived at the city center together. I noticed a few different things compared to the village we came from. There seemed to be more adventures and witches here, just a walk I could see many people carrying weapons and magical items out in the open. The other thing that stood out to me was the beggars.

The difference between the poor and the rich is huge. It makes me sad to think about how humans do not help those weaker than them. In the past, I had made it my duty to protect those weaker than me, but in the end, I failed.

After walking through the city center while holding my mother's hand, we had reached our destination. I'm tired of all the walking we've done, this little body can't hold back any more. I saw a very large building before my eyes like a cathedral, as big as four dragons combined.

My mother explained that it was a school called Roland academy and that school had a strict policy of only accepting magicians, it was the same school he attended when he was young and hoped I would attend as well.

We walked to the side of the academy to a separate building standing next to it. The building looked less impressive after what I had just seen, but you can tell that it was not built at such a high price.in the building, the building is, I was surprised by the number of people here, there was almost no room to move. Most of the people there are parents with their children. I sat and waited patiently in the living room. Many times someone will come out with a list in their hand and call someone's name. They will then be shown to a separate room where others cannot see. After about 5 minutes the child and parent will be out, most of the time they cry.

The women came out with that list again.

"Ray Talen for testing" as he looked into the room.

I jumped out of my seat and smiled.

I followed my mother behind the woman. Along the way, we passed by a child who was crying so pitifully, I thought they didn't even have magic power.

We followed the woman into the room I had seen before. Inside the room, there was a table and two chairs on either side. The table had a large orb in the middle. On one side of the table was an old man who appeared to be wearing a white robe, The other seat was empty. My mother sat in an empty chair, she lifted me up and put me on the table right in front of the ball. My face flushed red from embarrassment needing help to get on the table.

The old man began to speak in a soft and thoughtful voice.

"Please have your son put both hands on the orb in front of you, it will emit light if he has magical abilities, the appropriate color will show what elements are most efficient for him."

The old man did not need to say it twice, I raised my hand towards the orb.

"Now let's show everyone how strong I am!" I said while holding the ball as hard as I could.

"Haha"

I laughed out loud closing my eyes at the expected result.

She must be so happy to see me as a witch. Maybe I have awakened the fire element just like my mother. I opened my eyes to see that the ball was still the same. No reaction, no light, nothing. Whatisthis?

"I'm sorry to say, your son doesn't have any magical abilities"

Said the old man while stroking his long beard.

It can't be a dragon without magic. He must have misunderstood.

I stood up and walked slowly and carefully towards the old man, trying to keep my balance.

"Don't sulk"

"I'm using sihil"

I said angrily putting my finger on his face.

"I'm sorry young man, there's nothing I can do"

As the man approached me apologizing, I decided to hold the man's white beard. I was frustrated that he must be lying, trying to hide my great power from my mother to suppress me. I began to pull the old man's beard as I grew angry with the result.

My mother jumped across the table and pulled me away from the man, but I refused to let go, as she pulled me harder and away from the man, she said, a few strands of gray hair slipped from his beard into my hands. I was happy and started laughing

"Ha ha ha"

The man stood up and shouted

"Keep them both out of my sight!"

I remained silent all the way back to our hometown, the journey was long and my mother was still upset at me for what I did to the old man. He eventually fell asleep at the back of the train.

I can't sleep, I'm too surprised, is the world punishing me for all the humans I've killed? Otherwise, why would I get this second chance? I decided that the world was testing me, if I did not have magical abilities then I would have to take revenge in another way. After all, my father had no magical abilities and he was an adventurer.

When we finally got home, my mother delivered bad news to my father. My father was upset but not on the same level as my mother.

The next morning we sat at the dinner table. I finally learned how to control my hands and use the tools they gave me, I realized that it made the eating experience better and easier and there was no need to clean up afterwards. After we all finished eating, I had something I wanted to ask my father. I put down my knife and fork and looked towards my father.

"Dad, can you teach me to be a warrior?"

My father's eyes began to shine, it seemed like his dream had come true.
