23. 10 Years Later

Renny's school was indeed impressive, it wasn't easy to get into this school even though he had a lot of money.

Although not as big and grand as the Roland academy, but the Renny School had its own charm. It has the best learning facilities and great accommodation for their students.

Renny City itself is also very nice, full of life and cheer and has a high population to the size of a city. This is due to the fact that it is very safe to live in the city of Renny because the guard is very strict. In other cities one might have to worry about attacks from magical beasts or Dark Guilds.

Unfortunately with all those things, my life has been like hell here for the past ten years. After the knights left us in Renny's city, the whole kingdom became a state of alert.

It is meant to be prepared for war at any time. I assumed this was because of the shadow beast we encountered.

Fortunately, nothing had happened in the kingdom during these past ten years. There were no attacks from the Shadow Beast and Dark Guild.

Because of this condition, the students must be guarded at all times. We set a curfew and were not allowed to leave the city at all unless given special permission. I originally wanted to go to the nearest land to get some crystal stones but I closed the plan tightly.

I was given a personal tutor who also acted as my guard at all times, sleeping, eating even when I went to the toilet he had to keep me on my guard at all times. I thought all the students in this school were treated the same but when I spoke to Gary, he confirmed that only a select few students were given guards.

It was bad enough that I was always criticized around the school for having red hair, but even more so now I get special treatment among the others.

For ten years now, the only person I could talk to was Gary who was always nice to me.

But not everything is bad, I have learned a few things while in school that have answered many of the questions I have.

First, although most knights did not have magical abilities, they were able to train something called Ki.

Ki will allow you to increase the strength of the body, control the senses to the maximum extent and do things that seem impossible to do ordinary humans.

In fact, some Ki masters were even able to slow down the aging process that allowed mankind to live for hundreds of years. Even if there is a child who practices ki will damage their internal organs. But by the age of fifteen, our bodies will be able to deal with the organ damage made by ki.

We had learned the theory behind it when we went to the Avrion academy.

Crystal beasts would be used to forge armor and weapons for knights. While the mages will use it for enchantment, alchemy, and also have many other uses in today's technology.

The crystal itself came from a magical beast and had to be extracted manually after the ferocious beast was defeated. The crystal also had its own level appraisal that matched the savage beast scoring system. The higher the level of the beast, the higher the level of crystal it would receive and allow it to make stronger and better weapons.

But I still have a lot of questions about my past. They did in fact teach about the cent of the red dragon but only as a legend related to divine beings.

It is said that I was defeated by this divine being and after being forced to use all his strength he was forced to make a closed recovery. Although this divine being no longer exists, he still gives orders to the whole country that everyone must follow.

One of them is a religious cult. This was the cause for the creation of the Dark Guild from the very beginning. One of the elders in the Avrion academy had refused the orders of the saint beasts and was exiled for breaking the rules. From then on he had a grudge and was eager to destroy the Alure kingdom.

If I want to find out more info about my past and what happened since then, I have to meet this divine being in person.

The problem was that only high-ranking members could meet those divine beings. I thought of sneaking into that place to get an answer but I immediately encountered a problem.

That divine being is located in the Roland academy which is far away from where we are. That is if I can even break away from my guard from the beginning. I have tried several times to escape from this guard but still to no avail.

I've learned more at Renny's school, but the main point is I have to focus on this issue. Now I have reached fifteen years of age and I can finally graduate and leave this hell.

The Kingdom has issued an announcement that we are no longer on the ready-to-stand concept. I suspect they decided this after nothing happened for the past ten years. This means when I reach Roland academy, I will have more freedom.

I packed my things from the dorm room in the school, we all gathered in front of the school building today, where some knights would pick us up and escort us to Roland academy.

In front of the school building stood around fifty students.the number was much lower than when I first arrived here. when I arrived here there were about a hundred. Many people drop out of school because it's too much for them to be able to see their parents.

I saw Gary and went to see him. We waited to get together and chatted a bit about the upcoming trials at the Avrion academy and what we were most looking forward to. As the two of us were talking, we were interrupted by a familiar face.
