The Reincarnation of the Red Dragon

The Reincarnation of the Red Dragon
41. Training Begins

Training seems difficult for everyone. Every morning we would be awakened by the sound of two metal pots being smashed as soon as the sun rose. Come down to do breakfast, then start our training.

Basic training lessons are placed outside. It is mandatory for all new students to participate. This morning's workout consisted of stamina training, including running a few laps around the field. Then we turn to strength training, which consists of lifting, pushing, and practicing leg strength.

After the first few hours of fundamental training we then switched to weaponry. We all trained the basics of each weapon in anticipation of something happening on the battlefield. This includes archery, sword-wielding, using shields, using axes and even spears.

Bernardo was in charge of overseeing basic training, he often commented and advised the students about their techniques. Slyvia, Ian, and Gary continued to do well in training while the monk and Kyle were slightly behind the others.

When I train my strength, I must lower my strength level and match the strength level of one disciple.

I decided to match my power level to Dan so that no one would be too suspicious.

Practicing weapons skills I found useful, it made me accustomed to using all kinds of different weapons. My dexterity in armed has greatly increased.

After physical training, students are asked to compete with each other. Each student is ranked depending on the results of yesterday's test exam.

I was given the number 300 as the last place ranking in the test, while Gary was ranked 1st. This made him happy, because even though he had a black sash, it proved to himself that he did the test well.

Every student has to compete with someone ranked above them, so I will compete with number 299. We were all given chain armor to wear, it weighed heavier than usual but it had been given an extra protection spell.

While you will be allowed to choose the weapon of your own choice. The equipment used was made of wood making it almost impossible to deliver a deadly attack.

If you can defeat the enemy in front of you, you can take his rank number. The scoring system became easier due to the watches that were given to us.

The watch seemed to be powered by a beast crystal and had a number displayed on it. The number signifies your ranking and will automatically be updated once you defeat your opponent.

The ranking system even works outside of training facilities where students are encouraged to compete frequently as long as they use blunt training equipment so as not to deliver lethal attacks.

At the end of the day, everyone's body was too sick to move after doing all the training on the first day. Bernardo came forward to speak with the students.

"You may all think that this is your limit and you cannot continue it, but do not worry because tomorrow will be a day of rest. Rest is as important as practice, even if you think you can do the exercise, it will only hurt yourself."

This basic exercise routine lasts for three months, in a cycle of exercise and rest. We still haven't gotten any training related to our color belts and are starting to get a little impatient. I also asked if we were still free to go outside, the answer was the same as always. "Not until you finish your basic training."

I really want to hunt some magical beasts and fulfill my points up to 100.

After a normal basic training routine, Bernardo came to talk to us again.

"All of you will now start practicing according to the color rating you have. Now that you have built up a basic fitness level, you will be able to handle special training lessons. This lesson will be learned right after your basic training is over."

It makes sense now why new students should start basic training first.

Looking at the other students, they struggled to lift their bodies with one finger after they completed basic training.

But now everyone is used to the demands and pressures placed on their bodies.

Joe asked the black sash knight to lead them to the mansion after they completed their basic training. We met in a small training room inside the mansion. The room was big enough to accommodate all of us including Joe. The room was dark and dim, after which the lights in the room were turned off making us unable to see anything.

Joe's voice suddenly sounded, but it sounded as if it was projected from all different directions making it difficult to pinpoint its location.

"It is in this room that your black knight training will begin, you will learn to do stealth."

Joe suddenly put his hand on my shoulder and Gary surprised both of us. Before the lights went out, we could clearly see him standing in front of us. If he moved, we should have heard it, but none of us in the room heard any movement from Joe.

After Joe's hand touched me, I activated my dragon eye skill to see if I could see it. Fortunately unlike Mr. K, I was still able to track Joe's movements using the dragon's eyes. I could see Joe crawling around the room talking in a low voice.

"You'll also learn how to pick up keys, hide from enemies, and climb heights you've never climbed before."

Joe has given us special armor that only black knights can wear. The clothes are made light but well protected and dark in color so they are not easily visible.

The first part of the training is about how to make our footsteps inaudible to others, monks are accustomed to this, the Pope said, while I kept fighting but it wasn't as bad as Gary who didn't seem to understand the concept behind the move.

Furthermore, of all the difficulty levels he taught us the easiest way to retrieve the key, using the dragon eye skill would give me an easy advantage but I decided to give it a try without using that skill.

And even Joe taught us how to climb walls, with the extra strength I had, it was so easy.

We all started to enjoy black knight training, the techniques I learned were interesting so I kept learning them with vigor. Everyone became very skilled besides Gary. Every day that frustration haunts him even more.
