Gary started crying out of happiness, however it was his dream to become a knight. Seeing this I remember, Gary was only five years old. He often acts more mature for children his age.
As Gary walked from the direction of the stage, our eyes met. She quickly wiped her tears and gave a thumbs up at me. I've never seen him act like this before, and to be honest, I don't know how to respond.
Only a few more contestants did the test before my turn, They ended up with the same results as the previous contestants. Gary is the only one who has passed the exam so far.
It was my turn to go up on stage, as I walked and took a stand preparing to fight the puppet, the villagers began to speak.
"Here you go, damned child."
"Have you heard what happened to his father?"
"Did he think he could become a knight?"
Their words are not important to me because right now, I only have one goal in mind. I took out my sword and held it in my hand signifying I was ready.

Wilfred and Barnado sat next to each other discussing the village contestants.
"It looks like there will only be one from this village" Barnado said.
Just as Barnardo was saying those words, something seemed to catch Wilfried's attention. It was the boy who went up on stage.
"The boy has red hair!" Wilfred said as he jumped out of his chair.
"Ah, yes and this marks the fifth," said Barnado putting his hand on Wilfred's shoulder to calm him down.
Delbert is now in a condition of assessing candidates. He did not think too much about the village or the commoners and did not care much about them.
When Ray appeared on stage with his red hair, he could see Wilfred focusing on him. This would only make Delbert even more furious. He did not believe in the so-called prophecy.
He believed that all knights should come from noble backgrounds, how could heroes come from such a dirty village like this.
With Ray standing firmly with the sword in his hand, Delbert could see the confidence Ray had. After activating the doll, Delbert decided to tinker. He went behind the doll and whispered.
"Level 3"
Unlike the other contestants, the puppet started moving towards Ray. The puppet quickly ran with its wooden legs at full speed.
Wilfred stood in his chair.
"Delbert how can he do that!"
Delbert thought if the prophecy was true and this person was meant to be our savior, then this would be an easy task from someone so great.
The doll continued to move towards Ray until the attack was several inches from his face. When suddenly a wooden head was seen rolling on the floor. The doll suddenly stopped.
After news of his father's illness reached Ray's ears, he prepared a lot for the upcoming exam, Ray decided to hunt some more Basic level beasts.
He had obtained several crystals and currently his points had reached 36 compared to the previous one with only 7 points. Ray felt as if he had been reborn.
*****
After passing the exam, the knights had told me and Gary to say goodbye to our family and pack our things.
I knew this would happen because my father had told me that once you pass the exam, they would take you to the academy.
I went home to pick up some stuff. To be honest, I don't have much stuff because I don't care about human things, there are no things that mean anything to me. Before leaving I went to the room occupied by my father.
I saw him lying there repeating the same words about the shadow.
"Dad, I passed the knight exam, I know I can't be by your side anymore .. But I'll find a way to make you better."
As I said these words, my father stopped talking for a few seconds. I don't know if it's my imagination or not, but she seemed to be slightly smiling twitching on her face.
I went to the front door to say my last goodbye to my mother. My mother's tears haven't stopped since she heard the good news. He was always worried about me.
"Ray, I want you to bring this before you go" He gave me a blue circular pendant and started draping it around my neck.
"It's a family heirloom, hopefully, it'll give you as much luck as it did to me." She said.
After I finished saying goodbye to my parents, I continued on my way to the train on the edge of town. I'm glad I finally left this place forever.
There are not many good memories I have of this city. Very few memories I have with my family and Amy.
When I reached the edge of the city, the three knights were sitting on their horses waiting. Inside the train, I could see that Gary was already sitting inside. I immediately ran to the train and hoped to choose a seat away from Gary.
As the train went from the village, I saw the scenery for the last time.
It's been 3 hours since leaving the village with Gary, and we still haven't said a word to each other. The silence was killing me. As a more mature person, I decided to break the silence first.
"So what happened to Amy, I didn't see it?" Ray asked.
"He went to Roland's academy, didn't he tell you?"
"Witch school!" I stood up and shouted.
The whole time we talked, he never said that he had magic abilities.
In the middle of our conversation, the train suddenly stopped.
