Since it is already in its second year, the schedule and activities have started to change. In the morning instead of basic training, they go to their respective clubs to practice. After lunch, they would conduct special knight training.
The ranking system was advanced from the first year and Ray is currently ranked 10th. After the battle with Sebastion, Ray wanted to focus on lowering the rankings. Even before the game began, Ray immediately gave up so that his ranking decreased.
The students were no longer required to compete with each other, but the students were allowed to remain in the match outside of practice. Instead, students are required to attend school tournaments spanning the 2nd and 3rd years. The winner of the tournament will represent the school in the TSK (All Kingdoms Tournament), which is a tournament covering all kingdoms.
What excited Ray the most was the hunting trip. Once a week Ray goes out into a group and hunts magical beasts. This will be an opportunity for Ray to get more crystals and become stronger.
The first day of training has begun and the students are given direction through the communicator where their club is located. Most of the clubs are inside the Avrion academy but some clubs are in other buildings around the city. Slyvia, for example, was sent to the hospital for her training.
Ray follows the instructions in the communicator, the location appears as a red dot on the map and an arrow indicating the direction to go. The martial arts hall seemed to be outside of the school.
After ten minutes of walking, Ray finally reached his destination. Ray realizes it's not too far from the place where Ray met the old man in town.
The entrance of the martial arts hall was a majestic gate with two huge red pillars on each side. On top of these pillars was a slanted wooden sign hung up. The mark was worn out to the point that his words could barely be read but his words were enough to be understood.
Ray walked through the entrance and entered the peaceful green garden. The garden had a small pond on the left with a bronze stone statue meditating in the middle. At the end of the garden was a wide building with one floor.
Ray walks into the building but is unable to see the other students, Ray wonders "is I in the right place?. I know they say Martial Arts is not popular, but even if I am the first in the second year, there should also be third year students here."
"Hello, is there anyone here" cried Ray.
With no answer, Ray decides to approach the building. Walking around the side of the building Ray noticed that there were no windows and still not a single person was in sight. In the end, Ray decides to enter the building.
The building had no windows and only had sliding door panels. Ray shifts one of the door panels and enters the building.
The building was empty, had a large open space with soft mats covering its floors, while there was another room beside it. Judging from the smell, Ray could only assume that it was a toilet.
In the middle of the room was an old man who was sleeping quietly.
"Hello, I'm here to enter the martial arts club" Ray said as he approached the old man.
Looks like the old man didn't hear what Ray said. The old man was now within Ray's reach.
"Hello."
Still no answer from the old man, Ray began kneeling beside the old man to shake him. When Ray's hand was about to touch the old man, suddenly his eyes opened wide. The old man gripped Ray's head and hand and threw him to the ground.
Ray was now under the old man. The old man then swung his fist at Ray's face but stopped a few inches before reaching him.
"Who are you?" said the old man.
"I'm here to join the martial arts club, the communicator shows that you're here."
"Oh, I see a new student." The man reached out his hand and lifted Ray off the ground.
"Sorry about that, I was attacked recently and I've become restless ever since, and we rarely get students here." He said with a wide grin on his face.
"Where is everyone," Ray said as he looked around thinking someone would show up any minute.
"What do you mean, you're the first student I've had in so many years, this means you'll personally receive all my attention."
At least the old man seemed happy and eager to train me.
"Before we start, I have to ask first, what made you choose a martial arts club?"
"Old man, don't you remember? You're the one who asked me to come here."
The old man thought for a moment, then his eyes suddenly opened wide.
"You mean, you were yesterday's student."
Ray nodded in response.
The old man started laughing until he started coughing.
"I'm glad you chose to listen to me, it must have been our destiny to meet yesterday. I've been looking for someone to pass down my skills but don't have any students yet. I didn't expect you to join this club. I was originally going to give you a gift by teaching you a little bit of my skills, but now I promise to teach you everything I know."
"Can you answer my question. Why is the black guild chasing you?"
"It's a secret but I think I owe you a favor, I'm currently one of the six elders of the Avrion academy."
Ray remembered that he had seen the elders when we first entered the academy. They were the top in the academy, ranked above the Knight Masters. Although they were not directly responsible for their strength, they were the ones in charge behind the scenes.
"Then you're on your own, what are you doing?" Ray.
"I'm doing a disguise and to be honest I look like an ordinary old man when I'm doing a disguise using an old man's shirt. The only person who can recognize me is a high-ranking official."
The old man's expression suddenly changed as he said the last sentence as if he was immersed in his thoughts.
He continued his words. "By the way, it's time for your first lesson today, let me teach you about Ki Bela."
