Axels. The Part 28
Renata was immediately taken to the nearest hospital. It was not possible for them to take Renata to the best hospital in the city. It's a long way away. Renata was unconscious earlier. The doctor accompanying Renata in the back continued to monitor Renata's state.
"Gio hurry! Why is it so slow like a snail!" shouts Axel impatiently. He was very worried about Renata.
'What?!! The snail she said?!' Gio glanced at Axel. He wanted to shout at the young man that he had exceeded the average speed limit.
'Should I pull his head to see how fast I am now?' Gio glanced back at his speedometer. The number was close to one hundred and forty and Axel said it was still like a snail?!
Gio glanced back through the rearview mirror, even he could see that the female doctor was moving her lips. Perhaps he was praying for his salvation.
The quiet streets made them reach the hospital faster. The doctor took Renata to the ER to be examined and decided to have surgery immediately. Renata has lost a lot of blood. The doctor called some of his colleagues to come and perform emergency surgery.
The doctor was relieved because if Renata scratched his arm a little deeper, it would be certain that his life would not survive!
Axel keeps moving like an iron in the outdoor operation. He could not keep silent making Gio upset and feel dizzy. Axel who is known to have extraordinary calm in fact tonight looks riled up. Certainly, the girl he loved was struggling between life and death in there.
Many times he gazed towards the operating room. The lights are still on, indicating that the operation is still ongoing.
"Xels. Be sitting. Renata will be safe!" gio tried to calm Axel down.
"I'm afraid if anything happens to Renata." - Axel. Gio pulled his hand and made the man sit beside him.
"That's it. Let's just wait. Trust the doctor."
They just fell silent. No one spoke for a while.
"Gio. How do you think I feel like Renata?" ask Axel suddenly. He did not take his eyes off the floor in front of him. His hands are intertwined with his knees.
"How's what?" Gio still did not understand.
"I mean ... How do I feel about Renata just because of this heart?" Axel rubbed his chest which now felt tight.
Once he finds out the truth, he thinks it's possible that he doesn't really love Renata. Only her brother's heart loves her sister Renata. And also because that heart is what Renata loves. What if Axel is just Axel without his brother's heart? Will Renata love him and love him?
Gio let out a heavy sigh. Now he understood what Axel meant. "I don't know. Only you can answer that problem yourself. And also Renata." said Gio. He was not good at words to calm his best friend.
"I just saw you care so much about that girl. I've never seen you this enthusiastic about a woman."
Axel laughed softly. Gio's right!
"Yes, you're right. Why is it so hard to accept the reality. Is it possible for Renata to marry me who has her brother's heart? Doesn't that mean she's indirectly married to her brother's soul?"
Axel's words made Gio turn his head, not minded with the thought of the man beside him. It doesn't make sense!
"Don't be silly. There is nothing like that!"
"But it's indirectly like that, right?" Axel drowned his face in the palm of his hand. He seems a little frustrated.
"That's your thinking! You should ask the concerned later. Don't think weird!" gio patted Axel's shoulder slowly.
I don't know why Axel became such a melancholy guy.
The sound of footsteps came closer to them. Axel and Gio looked at each other. Uncle Hanson, Alex's father, and also Tiana's coming.
"Axel what happened? Are you guys all right? Melati's mom is worried about you." Alex said. He then approached and hugged Axel. The young man looked very messed up. So too with Tiana. After the father took off his arms, he thrust his body at Axel hugging the man tightly.
"Are you okay, Xel?" tiana asked, she was very worried when she heard Axel following Renata who had run away along with another man.
"I'm fine!" axel answered both.
"How's Renata doing?" ask Uncle Hanson.
Axel glanced towards the operating room door. Hanson and Alex understood the meaning of that view.
"Don't worry, he'll be fine!" Alex rubs Axel's shoulder.
Everyone says don't worry, but he can't. He was very afraid if anything happened to Renata.
Gio captures the meaning of Tiana's view. It had been a long time since she knew how Tiana felt. Maybe other people just think he is jealous because not noticed by Axel as his cousin. But what Gio saw was different. Tiana's gaze had never been like that, she had only lived in pretence.
Before long, the lights from the operating room went off, the doctor came out of the room. Soon everyone got up and asked about Renata.
Tiana silently looked at Axel's back with a hollow feeling. He shouldn't have said he was in love with that girl. And he probably won't lose his time to stay with Axel.
The doctor smiled and said that the operation was going well and Renata would be moved to another room soon.
Axel walks after the gurney carrying Renata's still unconscious body. Hanson and Alex followed them from behind, while Gio and Tiana were still silent in place.
"Would you go there or should I accompany you somewhere else?" ask Gio.
Tiana turned her face away. "No need. I'll just get back in the car!" Tiana turned her body and walked quickly leaving Gio. Gio pulled the corner of his lips as he looked at Tiana who was seen wiping something off his face.
"Basic stupid! If love why not just say it? You know there's no blood relation at all. Trying to convey your feelings what's wrong, Tiana!" muttering to himself.
When Gio entered the Aditama family. Tiana was his first female friend. They grew up together, went to school together, and went to college in the same place. For them Tiana is a little sister who must always be guarded.
Tiana's a sloppy girl. He is also innocent, so Gio and Axel are overwhelmed with all attitudes and questions. Especially when they were teenagers, some men began to approach Tiana who was getting more beautiful. As much as possible Tiana should not be inedible seduction and sedition from others.
"Hiks ... Hicks ... Why .... Why should Axel like her?! Why has he never glanced at me at all!" Tiana threw her used tissue on the floor of the car. I don't know how much tissue he spent until only a few pieces left.
"Evil. He should have known that all this time I also always paid attention to him. Sometimes he should look at me as someone else instead of his cousin!" lamentations Tiana.
He feels bad. If only he had the courage to express his feelings to Axel. But the young man always said that they would still be brothers even if there was no blood bond between them. Axel doesn't know, Tiana liked him a long time ago.
"Didn't the slightest taste in your heart make me Xel?"
"You know, how long has this heart held a feeling for you?" lirih Tiana stared at the photo of Axel from her phone screen.
"From Xel's first. From before!" Tiana was crying again.
For the past three months he had given up on that man. Trying to forget Axel with all the busyness, but the results are nil. Axel never wants to go out of his mind even though he assures himself that Axel can be happy with Renata.
Tiana cried in her car without knowing someone was standing leaning on the body of the car right behind her.
Gio folded his hands in front of his chest. He glanced towards the rearview mirror that showed Tiana inside there shrinking her face with a tissue.
It had been almost thirty minutes Gio was standing there. Not caring about the night wind that blows makes it cold. He just wanted to make sure Tiana didn't do anything silly even though it felt impossible for the timid girl. Her excessive worry for Tiana made her willingly wait out there.
Geck.. Geck.. Geck..
The car's door glass on knocking someone from out there. Tiana was surprised, she turned her eyes away. A man pointed his index finger down, and moved his mouth. Tiana understood the lip movement and the gesture. He asked to open the car door.
"Surge!" gio said, he slid in before Tiana switched to the seat next to him.
"What are you doing Gio, narrow!" tiana protested because Gio was carelessly getting into her car. Tiana had to change seats.
"I'm a little bored in there. Wanna take a walk. Just go with me!" gio said, then turned on Tiana's car without even hearing the girl protest.
"Let's go find me, Gio!"
"Alex's father can go home with Uncle Hanson."
"But ...."
"I told you I'd go with you."
The car left the courtyard of the hospital area and drove on the deserted road.
The atmosphere in the car was quiet. None of them spoke. Gio escaped his vehicle at his usual speed. He doesn't know where they're headed. He just wanted to enjoy a quiet night. She wanted to accompany Tiana so that the girl could not cry anymore.
Tiana stared outwards, she opened the window glass wide feeling the wind blowing from outside. His shoulder-length hair was waving in the wind. Sometimes he gets rid of the hair that is blocking his face.
Gio smiled faintly. Glanced at Renata who was no longer crying.
