"Do you want to meet the person who made you feel wasted?"
Raka looked at Sarah with an unchanging warmth.
"Why are you asking me that, baby?" Sarah asked, with unblinking eyes.
"Because I met him..."
Sarah gasped, she looked at Raka with her mouth open. Even now he was involuntarily sitting from a lying position.
"Darling...? Whatchu mean? "
"I've met your real father." Raka repeated with a clear sentence.
"Yesterday, your father called me. Says there's someone who wants to see me. He even waited for me three hours until I finished the meeting..."Raka did not continue his sentence, when he saw Sarah just looked at him like a statue with a tense look.
"Darling..." Raka got up, and sat down in front of Sarah, holding the wife's shoulder.
"I know you won't be easy to accept this, but I can't possibly kick her out of my room after three hours of her waiting for me." Raka became uneasy with the expression on his wife's face.
"Why is he looking for you?" Sarah's voice sounded so cold, she clutched the edge of the blanket over her thigh.
Imagining someone who left her with hatred and decades like lost in the swallow of the earth, now appears suddenly looking for her husband.
Isn't that a very surprising thing?
"He's come from Canada, it's been a month. I'd love to meet you, but I don't dare to." Raka answered carefully.
"Why does he want to see me?" Sarah couldn't be enthusiastic, any old wounds were like floating to the surface.
How did it feel to be so long ignored, then suddenly he came as if caring?
"She wants to see you and Rae before she gets back to Canada." Sahut Raka's.
"What if I don't want to see him?"
"Well anyway, he's your real father..."
"I knew. But he dumped me."
"A child cannot throw away his father." Raka spoke straightforwardly.
Sarah looked at her husband's eyes so quietly, as if to ease her turbulent chest.
"I've assumed it doesn't exist..." Sarah's usually soft lips, so cold.
Raka let out a sigh, the wife's past wounds might make her present, so hard-hearted.
"It's okay if you don't want to meet him..." Raka smiled gently at Sarah who started to tear back her eyes.
"Every regret was always behind, due to his own mistakes, he had to swallow a bitter pill rejected by his own flesh blood." Raka's warm embrace, making Sarah powerless to stem her tears.
"You're not wrong baby, you deserve to have that feeling, but don't keep that hatred in your heart because it'll only make you tormented yourself." Raka kisses Sarah's head, trying to blend in with her feelings.
It is not easy to accept, when we are ignored even if we do not know the black red of the world. Left alone, no matter what we live or die.
Then after a long time, it suddenly came just like that, as if a long time passed by meant nothing.
"Only, do not let you have the same regrets, if one day you can no longer meet him." Raka's whisper was almost inaudible.
Sarah sobbed in her husband's arms, she didn't know what to say.
"How can I miss someone I never knew?"His mouth is on his side.
"Flowing blood can't lie, baby. Whatever happens, he's still your father." Raka said slowly
"What am I supposed to do?" Sarah bit her lip, the heartache was still felt, considering the miserable journey of her life. Living without a biological parent, being raised by someone else, and feeling only the affection of the care of a maid whom he considers a mother
"Meet him..."
"What am I supposed to say?"
"I'm sorry for him."
Hearing those two words sounded so straightforward, so lightly let out by her lips.
"I don't know if I can meet him. I may not have a heart that big." Sarah lowered.
"God always has a way..." Raka lifted Sarah's chin gently.
"Do I have to meet him?"Sarah asked half a whisper.
Raka loosened her embrace.
"Nobody should.all answers are here." Raka pointed to Sarah's chest.
Sarah was stunned, looking at Raka, her eyes unblinking looking at her husband's face.
Then Sarah gently wiped away her tears with her finger.
A husband is supposed to calm his wife at certain times. A woman is heartless and fragile and sometimes full of consideration and anxiety because they are an accomplished reminder. Women can count the wounds, tears and disappointments of the various seasons of their lives and keep them in the corners of their hearts. Sometimes time is powerless to heal deep wounds but the love and understanding of the person we trust will be able to calm down.
"Don't cry anymore dear mommy Rae, my peri is no longer beautiful when it's crying..." Canda Raka, melt the atmosphere.
A small whimper was heard from inside the baby box.
Raka's eyebrows instantly rose, a smile on her thin, sweet lips.
"Sttt.someone will wake up like that." Raka rubbed the boy's hair that fell on Sarah's forehead.
Sarah turned her face to the baby box Rae. The little guy was writhing even though his eyes were still closed.
"Let's take care of it." Raka pushes Sarah's body smooth.
Sarah was silent for a moment and nodded obediently to get out of bed immediately, if Rae had woken up later she had trouble finding time to clean up.
"Darling..." Sarah turned to Raka, before moving on. For a moment his eyes sparkled although still puffy.
"I'll see him." Continue with a raucous voice before stepping towards the bathroom. (Be looking forward to the follow-up, like whether Sarah first met her biological father 😊)
