I can really take a taxi..." Diah still feels bad for Doddy, as he has been sitting next to each other in Doddy's car. This is the second time he's been in that car.
"Let me drive you home..."
Doddy pulled his car back from the restaurant's parking lot following the instructions of the parking attendant behind him, after Sarah and Raka's car disappeared among the crowds of Surabaya night streets.
"It's almost ten o'clock, it's not good you go home alone." Doddy continued when they were already among the flickering flickering of passing car lights, street lights and lights from buildings and buildings on the right left of the road.
"My rain is no longer in your direction." Diah says a little uncomfortable, she's afraid Doddy still thinks he's staying at his parents' house.
"I know..." That short answer came out of Doddy's mouth with his leisure.
"I'm married." Diah's lips trembled saying it.
"I know..."
"Where do you know my house now?" Diah raised her face in confusion.
"I don't know. But.you can tell me where to take you." Doddy relaxed.
"But..." He lowered his face, nervously.
"Because I'm married, actually between nights by other men, I'm afraid I can cause slander." Diah continues while stealing a look at Doddy awkwardly.
A moment Doddy was silent, Diah's words immediately awakened him, what made Diah so repelled among him.
"But we have nothing to do, just friends and co-workers." Doddy said hesitantly, looking guilty pias on his face.
"I know.but others may not know. Sometimes people's eyes prefer to narrate what they see with prejudice rather than to find out about the truth." Sahut Diah, sounds slow but feels piercing to the heart.
Diah himself was a little hesitant to say it, but he did not want to make Doddy wrong by trying to reject him from earlier.
"Me and driver Sarah drove you, what's the difference? let's just say I'm Sarah's driver who used to drive you." Doddy chuckled crisply, it felt strange when he was too self-imposed to act out of his habit.
His feelings want to be close to Diah, momentarily diverting his common sense, even though it is just good intentions without anything.
If he let Diah go home alone in a taxi it feels even more insolent.
"I'm still going to take you home, as a friend who can't get his best friend home by himself. God knows, I didn't mean anything. Please tell me, where should I take you?"
In his dilemma, Doddy decides to keep bringing Diah home.
Diah mentions her home address, she still lives in her house with Bram, because she holds the promise of her id, waiting for her talc that is only left for the next two weeks.
Doddy nodded his head in understanding without asking again.
Diah fell silent, sitting almost unmoved by Doddy's side driving as steel, after a reprimand for both of them that came out of Diah's mouth.
The atmosphere was silent, the two of them were silent to each other.
"How can your husband waste someone as good as you?" Suddenly Doddy's question half muttered involuntarily it made Diah gasp.
"What do you mean...?" He wanted to make sure what he heard.
"Oh, sorry.it's okay. I'm not talking about anything." Doddy replied stammered. It is unethical if he meddles in the affairs of other people's households, even if it just shows a sense of care. He is another man outside the household circle of Diah and Bram, despite the tempest that is sweeping their marriage, commenting on him can create unfavorable prejudice.
"I'm sorry I couldn't bear to not say it. It's a little presumptuous but I feel very sick seeing your situation now. Whatever it is you're experiencing, it's as if the pain I can see from your eyes." Doddy bathed in his heart.
When she first met Diah at the Rudiath-Wijaya Group office, she had known Diah in one look despite her much more mature appearance than she had last seen her ten years ago.
She gathers information about the woman secretly, though she later sinks disappointment when she learns Diah is truly married.
But in her weakness as a human being, she could not deny, hearing the shock of Diah's domestic dog with her arrogant and unfaithful husband, behind her sadness, and her, there was a hint of relief pinned him in the corner of his heart.
He felt himself to be evil at that point, but liking Diah a long time ago was not something he could look up to.
His stupidity seemed so domineering when talking about Diah, his common sense felt in his embrace, twice he had relationships with different women, but all failed. One thing Doddy realized, his longing for Diah was the thing that played a big role in his failure.
People say that first love is only monkey love, which at first glance comes and goes, changing with another love.
But strangely, his love for Diah, despite clapping one hand but so imprinted it to the heart.
"You know about my husband?" Diah suddenly asks, surprising Doddy behind the steering wheel.
"How could I not know about your husband and his affair with Sally. Everyone's talking about it." The answer was only up to the tip of his tongue, it could not be sprayed.
"I don't know anything about that." Answer Doddy kalem.
A moment they lost their words, silence clashed with each other again, except for the faintly sounding roar of the machine.
Doddy melted the awkward atmosphere between them by playing the car tape, heard a song break the silence of his audio, delivered by the touching deep voice of Budi Doremi,
If I have to remember you again
I won't be able to do what happened to us
If you forget something easy
It won't be heavy, won't make my heart tired
Lose, I admit I lost
Love is bitter and must not have
If I can, I'll come back
I will change the destiny of the love I choose
Although it's impossible, even if I want to
Take you through a time machine
If you forget something easy
It won't be heavy, won't make my heart tired
Long journey I had to go through
Relinquished
If I can, I'll come back
I will change the destiny of the love I choose
Although it's impossible, even if I want to
Take you through the time machine, ho-uh-oh
Wo-uh-oh
If I can, I'll come back
I will change the destiny of the love I choose
Although it's impossible, even if I want to
Bring you, oh-oh
If I can, I'll come back
I will change the destiny of the love I choose
Although it's impossible, even if I want to
Take you through a time machine
Until the song ended they both remained silent, stunned. As if permeating all the sentences in the song that seemed to slice up to the heart of each.
"I may not be able to convey my heart forever, but may this song let you know, whatever you are, nothing has changed in my eyes. If indeed we do not have a soul mate in this world, I hope that in heaven, God will bring us together in a different way." Doddy's whisper in the heart.
