"Darling, you don't have to go if you mind. Just call, tell me you're having a lot of business." Raka advises Sarah, who seems to be getting ready to go to her parents' house.
Sarah took her handbag from the table, then looked at Raka.
"Darling, you'll take me.." she said later.
"Me?" Raka pointed at her own face with a doubtful look.
"I don't think I need to go there" Raka awkwardly refused.
"Are you afraid to meet Sally?"Sarah raised her eyebrows.
"I'm scared? Why should I be afraid?"Raka pulled the corner of her lips.
"You don't want to drive me?"Sarah asked back.
"I'm lazy, deal with your family."Raka answered with a little indifference.
"Darling..." Sarah throws herself onto the sofa, where Raka is sitting while watching her.
"It's okay to go there, counting you haven't even been to your in-laws' house after our wedding.
Being a little more respectful is okay. And again, without them giving us a chance to get married, not necessarily you get a wife as beautiful as this..."Sarah chuckled while hooking her arm around Raka's neck.
"Darling, I just want to keep your feelings. Not going there, better for me. You'll be jealous for no reason, who bothers your husband!"
"Dear, I believe in you. I just want to show them, our marriage is fine." Sarah kissed Raka's cheek in dismay.
"We just need to go there for a while, listen to what's going on, then we go home, continue the war. How's it?" Sarah winks her eyes at Raka.
She looked back at Sarah.
"Are you sure we should go there both?" ask Raka.
"I'm sure we can deal with both."Sarah smiled calming down Raka's doubts.
He himself, felt uncomfortable but sooner or later he definitely had to deal with it.
With Raka beside him he felt he had power over whatever might happen there.
Raka took the car ignition key, stood up from her seat, extended her hand to Sarah.
"Darling, we're leaving now. No need to waste any more time, later when I go home I collect your promise" Raka pulled Sarah's hand to stand up.
"What promise?"
"Continue the war."
Sarah wrapped her hands around Raka's waist, buried her head on her husband's shoulder.
"I'm not a machine, baby.the guy's delayed tomorrow morning, okay?"Sarah sulks with pampering.
Raka shook her head with a sour face.
"Promise keep promise!" Raka took Sarah.
There was a little swish on his chest, meeting Sally after all this time and receiving pain over Sally's treatment had not yet been imagined how to respond to herself.
Whether he would get angry, pour out his hatred or look at it with disdain. Raka still does not know, his own reaction when he met the woman who had betrayed him and left him before their wedding day.
...***...
Sarah and Raka stood up slightly tensely, as Mbok Yem opened the door.
"Son's Sarah..." The face that implied the longing looked tearfully at the girl in front of him, who felt like she had never been home for so long.
"Mbok Yem's..."Sarah awkwardly hugged her nanny.
"Sarah's sister, I miss Sarah's son."
"Sarah also misses out with mbok Yem. Sorry old Sarah didn't come here. Sarah's really busy..." Sarah let go of his embrace.
"Mr and mistress are waiting for Sarah." Mbok Yem wiped away his unstoppable tears.
He knew very well, how Sarah from childhood because mbok Yem was the one who took care of the girl.
Sarah steps in followed by Raka. Straight to the family room.
Sarah and Raka greeted their adoptive parents, however, she continued to warn them and sat across the chair.
They momentarily looked awkwardly, and Sarah opened the conversation to melt the atmosphere,
"How are you? Pa? Sorry just got here, Sarah didn't give me any news yesterday following Raka to Leiden."
"Oh, yeah..What's up with Leiden?" Papa was always softer than Sarah's mother.
"I asked for it, pa.. accompanied me during the semester exam." Raka.
"Oh..are you in school again?" papa scrunched his forehead.
"Yes, looking for a little experience to learn business law, might be able to help our company go even further."
"Papa is glad to hear it..."
Mama Sarah stared impatiently with their pleasantries,
"Sally's home." mama interrupted suddenly.
There was a flash of sadness at once demanding from the middle-aged woman's eyes.
"Yes.papa told you. Where is sally now?" Sarah nodded as she spread her eyes around. He also felt astonished, why not look at Sally until this second.
Papa and mama Sarah sat with each other for a while, as if considering talking further.
"Sarah, your sister's in a deep depression." Papa said slowly.
Sarah and Raka now exchanged glances.
"Depressions? what do you mean, pa? wasn't he okay with Bram, when he left." Sarah subconsciously held the hand of Raka who was beside her.
Mama's eyes were fixed there, a little unhappy with the sight before her.
Papa sighed, so heavy and full of weight.
"Maybe you two should know this, because only you two can help her." Papa's voice was choked. Sarah clutched Raka's wrist stronger, hearing her father's words uneasily.
"How can we help him?" Sarah asked bitterly.
"That damned man just left your sister. A few weeks ago, Sally gave birth to a premature baby in Singapore and died shortly after birth.
Bram went back to his wife on the grounds that their son had Lupus." Papa looked furious and helpless at the same time.
"Now Sally is coming home in a miserable state. Even your mama can't seem to see it, since returning two days ago was ushered by om Gono, papa's friend at the Singapore embassy." Papa glanced at the mother who had been silent. But the look on her face that was like an overcast sky showed the middle-aged woman was carrying a lot of thoughts.
"We're sorry about what happened to Sally but we might not be able to do anything about it." Suddenly Raka spoke up. Her expressionless face was like wanting to say, they were unwilling to get involved with Sally's life.
"Sally doesn't seem to care about her surroundings, we've called a psychologist to examine her mentally. Sally's been diagnosed with PTSD."
"PTD?"Sarah was stunned, she had just heard of such a disease.
"PTSD or post-traumatic stress disorder is a post-traumatic stress disorder is a mental disorder that arises after a person experiences an unpleasant event. PTSD is an anxiety disorder that makes the sufferer constantly remember the traumatic event. Maybe losing a baby and losing Bram really made her suffer." Papa took another breath, so heavy.
"Where is Sally now?" Sarah asked with a trembling voice.
"In his room, upstairs." Answer Papa.
Mama raised her face, looking at Sarah who was holding Raka's hand. She never expected, Sarah and Raka had been this close. All he knew all along, Sarah and Raka got married just forced without any foundation
Even she knows how Sarah hates their marriage.
"But...Sally from yesterday only called one name..." Mama stared intently at Raka.
"He just called Raka's name..."
