Flashback a year after Bram and Diah's divorce.
Diah glanced at the watch on her wrist.
16.15 WIB.
She has to pick up Bella from her grandmother's house in 45 minutes.
Mr. Ardie, the boss' driver, Ms. Sarah, is standing in the lobby, waiting. Sarah always instructs Ardie to take Diah before he gets home.
Diah occupies Sarah's apartment with Bella, Sarah allows him to stay there so as not to contract, so Diah feels very helped. Now he's saving up to buy a house for them both Bella, no need for a big, simple house strap.
Actually Sarah had planned to give a special car from the office to support the mobility of Diah, but Diah still can not drive, so Sarah asked him to take a driving course, so she was not able to drive, unfortunately, Diah still has no time for that.
"Sir Ardie, I'm going home alone in a taxi. Because today I stopped by my parents' house." Reject Diah.
Mr. Ardie just nodded his head, then left first.
Diah stepped out of the lobby when her phone rang.
Doddy Alfajry called...
Diah was stunned for a moment. Almost 10 months after they never met again after the last meeting in this office, Doddy delivered some documents, after the death of Mytha's mother.
They only met for a moment at the cafe across the street because of an invitation from Doddy via Whatsup messages.
"What's wrong?" Diah asked, a little uncomfortable with Doddy's suddenly serious attitude back then.
"Something I want to ask you."
"What?"
"Are you okay?" Doddy's question sounded so strange in Diah's ear.
"Why do you ask that?"
"I mean, after your divorce, are you okay?"
Doody is not a talkative person, he does not convoluted when he wants to say something.
Diah's eyes rounded trying to digest Doddy's intentions and direction of speech.
"I'm just a little worried about you, because it's been almost a month since I haven't heard from you." Doddy, holding the handle of the coffee cup in his hand.
"Oh, I'm fine. Everything's fine, thanks for worrying about me." Diah's face glimmered, Doddy making her blush.
"If you're okay, I'm relieved. I hope you recover quickly from all these circumstances. It is not easy to get up from everything. As someone who knows you, I just want to make sure you're okay." Doddy sipped his coffee barely making a sound.
Down, he didn't know what the meeting meant. His first meeting with a man after his divorce with Bram.
Lying if she is not sad and feeling broken after her divorce with her husband, as a woman and as a mother she feels she has failed to maintain her household. But, on top of all that pain, he had saved her life and self-esteem.
"After this we may not see each other for a long time, I hope you will recover well soon. That way, you don't waste the sacrifices you've made. Never repeat the same thing, never trust anyone more than you trust yourself.and.give your love to the right person."
Those were the last words of Doddy before the man disappeared into the earth, even sending a message even though he never did.
As the woman Diah felt unworthy to ask, what was Doddy, where he was and how he was doing although to be honest sometimes Diah felt homesick for the man.
When he thinks of others who are watching him well, then Doddy's face will play in his head.
Diah knows herself, she's nobody but a friend of Doddy's, a successful man she never saw when they were in their teens.
And after her divorce from Bram, Diah shut herself down, she didn't want to make the same mistake of turning her heart over to just anyone, what's more her status as a widow with a child from her first marriage made her even more trying to put herself in the right place.
Learning from failure is important, because if he does not learn then he may be trapping himself in the next failure.
The phone in Diah's hand rang again. Still a call from Doddy.
"Call..." Diah greeted him with trembling lips.
"Hallo, Diah..." There was a warm voice across.
Diah's chest was beating strangely, firmer than usual. Diah can't lie if she misses that voice, after all this time. Diah's lips opened trembling, trembling,
"Where have you been? Why call me now? Don't you know, I like to miss you sometimes?"
