For two weeks, Doddy stayed in Jakarta while taking care of his umrah preparations. He doesn't talk much, not even to his parents.
Doddy sometimes calls Diah by phone, but Diah seems to avoid it.
"You better prepare yourself for the holy land."
And after days of caution, Doddy received a message via WA sent Diah three days earlier, after dozens of messages were written Doddy without reply at all.
"Happy Umrah, praying is best for us there. May Allah bless you. If you come back from there, we will definitely meet. Allah is above all your intentions. May your worship be accepted by God. God's barracks fik."
That's it, after which Diah deactivates every Doddy call.
...***...
After almost 12 hours drive from Jakarta, finally Doddy and his parents set foot in Jeddah, Jeddah City is located about 70 kilometers to the west of Makkah.
They do umrah with several others who seem to be under the auspices of the foundation of the mother, five pairs of married husbands who help take care of the social foundation that is not able to, he said, presented by Mama Doddy to worship Umrah with them exclusively.
They set out by renting an exclusive umrah tour owned by a schoolmate of Ferdian, and of course the trip was specifically funded by Mr. Ferdian.
Ustadz and the mutawif that accompanied them were also appointed by Mr. Ferdian specifically, it seems that this time Umrah was so special for him because Doddy was in the group, in accordance with the expectations of the mother.
Doddy was more quiet, all the way from Jedah to Medina, he was ceaselessly clutching a prayer bracelet, steadying his heart so that his mind and soul were only directed for the journey of worship.
His eyes were endlessly admiring the city where Rosul's tomb was located.
During their four days in Medina, Papa Doddy took him around the city, making pilgrimages to various places from Rosul's tomb and praying at the Quba mosque, the first mosque that built the prophet.
His mother accompanied him to walk in the Dates market located on the edge of a date orchard, close to the Quba mosque after praying and told him about his first experience shopping in this market with papa Doddy.
"Your father was sitting on the concrete because he was tired of waiting for me to bid for an abaya with a seller. You know, the merchant boy is an Arab man who can only speak Indonesian with mediocre, even though mama wants to buy a lot to be made souvenirs for your grandmother's friends, mama got confused because she tried hard to convince him that the price was right." Mama Doddy told me while pointing to an elongated concrete on the edge of the date market, he excitedly told me, it seemed like the memories were so attached to his memory.
Doddy smiled as he set his gaze on the contents of the large building which was quite crowded by the congregation who was shopping. The atmosphere was boisterous with the cries of the unpretentious seller with the bidding congregation. The floor is sticky because of scattered date seeds that may be tasted or eaten by visitors. Although dense, but not sultry because there is air conditioning.
At first glance Doddy stared in one direction among the crowd, his eyes blinked, at a woman in black clothes standing up and accidentally staring at him, for a moment he was fascinated, he was, that face was so familiar in his brain.
"Kurma Ajwa, date of Prophet Muhammad shallalahu alaihi wasallam, 400 thousand! 400 grand!"the merchant in front of Doddy who seemed to be an Indonesian worker broke the focus of Doddy's view.
"Diah...?" Doddy looked up, trying to find the figure among the crowd, regardless of his busy mother telling stories.
Doddy held his forehead, saying Istiqfar because he thought so much about Diah that he even felt he had seen Diah everywhere.
No matter how hard Doddy tried to brush off the crying shadow while saying an apology in his arms, it felt so stuck in his mind.
...***...
On the fifth day, after praying together in the Nabawi mosque for the last time, their small entourage left for Mecca, a holy city that became the dream journey of a Muslim. And Doddy always dreamed of going here with his loved ones one at a time.
Doddy wanted to set foot here, take a walk to see the beautiful state of his city, visit the holy places and worship with his halal partner while holding hands, is not it extraordinary.
Doddy looked at his parents who looked so happy and friendly, they really enjoyed the worship trip. There is no more happiness than what they are experiencing. Their love for each other, what an envy Doddy, spending the old days with such happiness, who wouldn't want to?
...***...
Doddy placed his chest, cheeks and palms on Multazam, all the praises on the chants of those who also took turns hugging Multazam while praying while beshalawat and greeting the Prophet.
Doddy never felt this new, hugging the place that everyone's longing for. After saying Beshalawat and greeting the Prophet, saying
do'a is recommended to be chanted in front of Multazam, and pray for his parents, then Doddy do'a in particular,
"O Lord, I beg you for forgiveness from all that I have done that is not pleasing, keep me from evil to repeat it, and I ask forgiveness for what You have ordained, but I have not done it, and I ask forgiveness for my conjecture against You that makes my heart restless. And Lord, O my Lord, give me the best wife and Thy side, the wife I am asking for and marrying with Your permission and the wife who is my best friend in matters of religion, world affairs, and the Hereafter. If Diah is my Soul which You have prepared, ease our journey towards Your lawfulness...There is no servant of God before Your greatness, who prays in this place in a lowly pleading for Your most granting do'a.β
Those tears, irresistibly, fell on Doddy's cheeks as he muttered Diah's name among his prayers.
After he prayed, Doddy retreated to give an opportunity to other pilgrims who want to pray like himself The front row is the male line and the back row is the female congregation.
After praying at Multazam, Doddy and the male congregation searched where his mother and the women of their small entourage were, at which point Doddy was stunned at the man standing beside his mother, in a pure white cloth of Ihram in the handcuff of her mother, she was like an angel who had just descended on the doorstep of Multazam.
(Sorry if in the story submission in this chapter is not in accordance with the rules of umrah, the author is more focused on the plot to Doddy meeting with his soul mate, yaππ)
