My Love Journey's

My Love Journey's
Attention.

"Hi, are you the woman that was together..."

"No. I'm sorry.." I muttered the words of one of the three teenagers who spoke to me and quickly walked past them.

It's been a week since my picture of me having dinner with Paul went viral on social media and gossip magazines. I haven't spoken to her since that day, and have been forced to run away every time people recognize me and ask about my relationship with Paul.

I'm kind of lucky, working in a hospital keeps me from having a lot of time to be outside and get the attention of people I never expected at all. I'm sure the news will disappear soon.

"Hi, sorry I'm late." I smiled at Travis, sticking my ass in the chair opposite to him. Travis took me to lunch at a bistro not far from the hospital.

My lunch hour has just begun and, as things are in the hospital, it is not too busy today, I had time to date a while with a handsome doctor who had helped me release the stress of the aftermath of the attack on Glienicke Bridge.

"It's okay. I'm off today and you're working" he replied. "Oh, I've ordered food, don't you have a problem with that?"

"Yes, no problem." I nodded after a moment of astonishment. She didn't know what kind of food I liked, so her decision to order food was somewhat disrespectful to me.

"What's your day fun? You look excited, Bianka." Travis asked, leaning his back against the back of the chair.

I cringed at a glance. "Oh, huh? Maybe because I had too much coffee today." I replied, then smiled.

"Can be. But I see you're also a little agitated, is Dr. Grey scolding you again?" mumbling teases me. I chuckle softly.

A waiter came with two glasses of wine.

"I'm sorry, Travis, I still have to work after this and I can't possibly take care of a drunk patient." I told him, turning to his mouthful of wine on the table.

Travis smiled in response to my words. "Non-alcohol, darling."

"Oh, okay."

It was a bit strange to see him wearing a shirt and jeans, because I was used to meeting him in the hospital where he always wore his doctor suit.

We chatted for a while until lunch arrived. I was very disappointed and confused when a bowl of salad was placed in front of me. It looks good, but I still have a long day and hope to get some extra energy from food other than a bowl of salad.

Travis and I spent quite a lot of time this week, we shared a few things and I started to feel like he was pulling me along to follow his over-healthy lifestyle.

"You're a nice girl, Bianka" Travis said after a while we fell silent to enjoy the food.

"Thank you." I said with a smile.

Travis' blue eyes looked at me with a look of admiration, making me feel weird instead of being as comfortable and warm as I felt when Paul looked at me. Paul is very kind and anyone who manages to melt his heart will definitely be a very lucky woman. But he's not for me, his lifestyle doesn't really suit me.

"Hey, why are those teenagers taking pictures of us?" travis asked, and at once I felt my heart shrink.

I turned my face to follow his gaze and sighed heavily when I saw the three teenagers who had asked me when I got into the bistro, pointing their cell phone cameras at us.

"Oh, Lord.." I murmured frantically, turned my head and raised both hands over my face. "You've got to be kidding me."

Luckily, they are just regular teenagers who may be big fans of Paul and not a bunch of paparazzi. Even so, I do not want my face back to meet the gossip magazine page and widely circulated on social media.

"What's up, Bianka?" Travis looked very confused, he looked at me and the three teenagers took turns. "They're gone..."

I peeked through my fingers and breathed a sigh of relief once I realized they were really gone. "The story is long." I said, continuing to eat.

"We have a lot of time, don't we?"

I put a desperate look at him. Then tell me everything about Paul and me, from him having a concussion to our photos being widely circulated in the media.

"That's sorry, I don't know what to say." Travis shook his head after I explained everything for the last twenty minutes, then he chuckled softly, completely at a loss for words. "Are you and Paul dating?"

Travis nodded while smiling shyly. "good. I like you, Bianka. I don't know how to say it, but I think something more serious will happen after this."

"About what happened?" I teased her with my gaze, honestly a bit confused and a little surprised by her impressed speech as if she was expecting something to happen between us.

Travis chuckles. "No. About ours. Our relationship."

Dear Christ in Heaven! We barely had anything but pleasant chatter and admiration towards each other as friends. The relationship between a nurse and a doctor? Ewh, very classic...

I can only smile in response to his words.

***

Just as the time showed it was almost midnight, I arrived home and now had changed clothes. I sat on the sofa poking out my legs, focusing my eyes on the TV showing a local comedy show. Then my phone vibrated on my lap, I turned my head and found a message from someone I didn't think of at all.

From: Paul: Hey, what are you doing?

I watched the message for a while, wondering in my heart why I still felt a little excitement bubbling in my stomach just by reading the message from it.

To: Paul: Watch TV. You you?

From: Paul: Just got back from the sauna and now relax over a beer with my friends. How's it going?

To: Paul: Well.

I didn't get a reply for a few minutes. After all, there was nothing to reply to, and I had no idea what I was really expecting. Although our relationship was just a romance last night, Paul said that we would still meet after he returned.

I thought I'd see where our relationship was going before I actually kicked her out of my life, though still her always-interesting lifestyle wasn't something I wanted. Especially after our photos were widely spread, it made me uncomfortable and unsettled.

From: Paul: Aren't you mad at me for that photo?

Paul: Why should I be angry? It wasn't you who took the picture and sold it, was it?

I was a bit angry at him because he was an amazing guy who managed to make me feel new things and smile like crazy, but he had a lifestyle I could never keep up with. And it wasn't all his fault, so I guess I was just mad at the world.

From: Paul: I thought you were angry because you didn't return my message that day.

To: Paul: I work in the hospital, Paul. There's always some drama there.

From: Paul: Oh, okay. By the way, tomorrow I'm off, Carl's taking me to Berlin to visit his girlfriend. Do you have time tomorrow?

Carl Austerlitz has a girlfriend? That's definitely not general information, at least for me. He was the captain of the national team, so if he had a lover, the news would definitely be plastered in every magazine. Pretty reasonable, because the same thing happened to the assistant captain who was dating me.

To: Paul: Oh, I didn't know Carl had a girlfriend. Sorry, my schedule is tight tomorrow...

From: Paul: They deliberately cover it up, publications tend to ruin relationships. I really want to see you if you can take a minute, Bianka.

His pleading attitude like this only made me more dizzy, but I tried to ignore him. Plus the fact that Paul trusts me with giving me important information about his best friend is something interesting. I have to consider his offer. Paul Klug, just by sending me a message he can make me feel something strange and more than when I met and talked to Travis in person. Is this something good? I guess, yeah. Uh, or not?

To: Paul: The day after tomorrow I have lunch time. Hows it?

From: Paul: I trained that day. If tomorrow you can't mean we'll see each other after I get back?

To: Paul: Yeah, I think so. Good night, Paul x

I put down my phone and returned my gaze to the TV, one anxious breath coming out from between my lips.
