"Paul, hey..." I answered the phone after it rang on the nightstand.
"Hey, love. How are you?"
Why does it feel so strange? His voice made me feel as if he was beside me right now, in the dimness of my room, and lying under the same blanket as me. "I'm good. Just going to bed, how about you?" sahutku.
Paul chuckles. "Sleep? If I'm not mistaken, it's 6pm in Berlin right now, isn't it?" Her tone was so warm and soothing.
"Indeed." I laugh. "Hospitals are a bit crowded these days, and you know, this whole week I work from four in the morning. Dr. Grey really used this opportunity to beat me up for asking for next week's holiday."
"It's so annoying."
I shook my head knowing Paul couldn't possibly see me. "Not really. He's just a little firm. I admire him, he's got me used to working hard and I love that."
"I wonder, you must always be the favorite student of every teacher in school, hm?" paul asked, making me laugh. "So obedient, Bianka."
"Paul, please.." My protest was playful, his voice seemed to catapult me to heaven. "How are you doing there? I heard yesterday you won against Belgium, huh?"
"I'm good, thank you. Just finished the shower. I have a short break before going out to dinner with my team." I heard his footsteps on the other end of the phone. "And, yes, we ousted Belgium. I've never seen Kevin and Eden so angry, I doubt they'll talk to me until the next few weeks."
He laughed amusedly. I imagined him clamping his nose while shaking his head. I don't know who Kevin and Eden are talking about, but it doesn't matter.
"May I ask you something?" continued.
"Anything other than phone s-e-x."
He was silent for a few seconds before his laughter sounded deafening. "Oh my God, your brain is a total pervert, Rapunzel."
I chuckled, hugging one of my pillows while Frosty calmly stuck his fur on my leg.
Paul spoke again. "I wonder who's heard about your plans to meet me in Russia?" It seemed like he had deliberately chosen a sentence so as not to sound as if he was accusing me.
I'm throats. "The night I was at the club with my friends Valerie and Red, we talked about it, and I said maybe I'd meet him in Russia" I said. "But I just made sure to my dad and Louis that I was leaving. Lucy was there at the time. I doubted one of them was spreading the news, I thought someone at the club had heard our chat and it was him who spread it."
"Lucy," said Paul. "You told him?"
I frowned, my calm mood instantly evaporating. "No, but I'm sure he heard me talking to my dad and Louis. Paul, now tell me what's going on?"
Paul sighed, sounding very heavy. "I can't say it on the phone, Bianka."
"Then, there's nothing more we need to talk about right now." I threatened.
"Oh, come on. We're both tired. I called because I wanted to hear your voice It calmed me down." he muttered in a desperate tone. He must have been training all day.
I exhaled. "I don't like you hiding things from me, Paul. Especially if it has to do with our relationship."
"Absolutely not, love. I can handle it. I have to show you, so it's free to talk about it on the phone."
I can't afford to argue against this stubborn guy. "I experienced sexual violence today" I said, shifting the subject.
"You, what?" He was beating, sounding confused. "If you're joking, this isn't funny at all..."
"I'm not kidding. A man squeezed my ass and asked if I would let you do that to me. She also said she wanted to look at my underwear, and comment on the size of my chest." I turned my eyes to think of the man. "He was very, very drunk. But I can still handle it. Dr. Grey couldn't have deliberately put me in a situation I couldn't handle."
"That's no small matter, love. It shouldn't have left you there with a drunken man" Paul said firmly, cursing softly. "Have you raised an objection or sued that man?"
"No..."
"If it happens again, sue them, Bianka."
"It's stupid. You must not have recorded his name, right?" tanyanya.
"It's okay, but I don't want to tell you." I snored, smiling amusedly.
Paul took a deep breath. "If she really wanted to see your cleavage, I would gladly teach her how to use the eyes."
I laughed, "oh, wow. I think it's time to talk about something else."
"Okay. But I want to listen to what I say, Bianka. You should also talk to Dr. Grey and..."
"Yes, yeah." cut me quick. "I know."
We were silent for a moment, before I could make a sound. "What are you doing?"
"Lying in bed."
"Loh, didn't you just say you wanted to have dinner with your team?" I asked, putting my arms on the pillow.
"I think it's better to order food and chat with you all night." I imagine she's sneering flirtatiously right now.
I giggle. "I'm tired, Paul. Maybe my eyes can only last ten minutes. Maximum."
"I wish you were here with me, love." she snored, in a lower voice.
"We'll meet in two days. By the way, how's the atmosphere there?"
"Amazing out. You must be in love with the hospitality of the people here, and also with the architectural beauty of the building." said enthusiastically explain. They give special treatment to the remaining team, show us their culture, and much more."
"So, have you found a sexy model that can replace me there?" my sloth, and he chuckles.
"There's actually three, but there's still a lot in line" he replied, then returned to a more serious question. "Do you mind if I take you for a walk while I'm here? I mean, everyone knows about your planned arrival, love, there's no way we can be free to roam."
"Oh, that's terrible, yeah." I let out a breath. "To be honest, it doesn't matter even if we're just having dinner as usual. Maybe at the restaurant you're staying at?"
"Love, you came all the way from Germany to Russia to see me for a few days" Paul murmured, but before he could continue his sentence, I added.
"And Cristiano Ronaldo, if you remember."
Paul laughing. "Yes, of course. But, I want you to enjoy your short trip to pay for everything you've done all week in the hospital to see me."
"I see you. That's enough to pay for everything, Paul." I assured him.
"Aw, why is there a needle that pierced my chest?" I laughed at his cheerful chatter.
I'm yawning. "I'm dying, one more minute your voice will be gone. How about we continue tomorrow night?"
"Tomorrow the night we played England. How about it tomorrow afternoon?" Paul asked back.
"I work." Unknowingly, I was pensive. We had rarely talked since the last day I drove him to the airport, even now I was too tired to talk to him.
"Alright, uhm. I'll take the time to call you, okay?"
"OK." I said lazily while closing my eyes.
"Good night, love."
"Good night, Paul."
