I worked like a madman for a whole week to get Dr.'s attention. Grey and his compassion, so he'll let me take a weekend off to fly to Spain, see Paul.
But shit, Dr. Grey didn't pick up on the silent cue I was showing, but he surprised me by letting me go home early on Friday and giving me a longer day off to pay for my hard work. I ended up spending time with Valerie, Red, Stacey, Elise, Camille, and Elliot whom I purposely joined my friends as we chatted more and more in the hospital. It is too late to fly to Spain.
I didn't realize anything until Paul texted me and asked me what I was doing, out of nowhere he heard the news that I was at the bar instead of working like I told him. Well, I forgot to tell her that Dr. Grey let me go home early.
Of course, this made him think I didn't want to fly to see him for no apparent reason. He didn't say anything when he called me, but I knew what he was thinking.
To please him, I decided to surprise Paul. Because Anne, her mother, planned to visit her this weekend and invite me along, without hesitation, she said yes.

"I accidentally spilled coffee in Dr.'s suit. Grey," Elliot grumbled with a grimacing face and sat in his chair as we ate lunch with Stacey.
I laugh. "You gotta stop spilling coffee on everyone, that's not good, Elliot."
Stacey agreed with a nod of her head. "Do you want to see them take off their clothes on purpose?"
"No! Oh my gosh, not at all." He shakes dramatically. "I was in a hurry, and... Oh, the coffee's so hot! I actually made him have a level three burn."
I grimaced, surprised by his slightly unreasonable words. "Level three? Is he not wearing clothes?"
"Ah, sorry, maybe only level two." The correction, one smile rose in his mouth. Elliot has an adorable face, more and more worthy to be admired with his friendly attitude.
"You'd better go back to class if you can't distinguish the extent of the burn." snorted Stacey, and I gently nudged her arm.
"Hey, relax a little. Why are you so sensitive today?" manya curious.
Stacey shook her head. "Elise was out of town visiting her family, I haven't heard from her for two days." she explained.
I smiled trying to comfort him. "He must be fine. You know Elise is very close to her parents, right?"
"I know," Stacey sighed. "I just miss him. How can you live so far away from Paul, hm? Give me enlightenment."
"That's not easy, say... But we try to understand the situation. After all, we're busy with each other's work." I flicked my shoulders and threw a glance at Elliot who was also looking at me. "Do you have any special friends, Elliot?"
His gaze suddenly wavered, then he cleared his throat while taking his eyes off. "I, uh. no."

From: Paul: Mom will visit me this weekend. Are you watching our game?
To: Paul: Yeah, he told me, and I'm sorry I couldn't go there. I'm really busy right now. I hope you understand xx
I lied on purpose and now I'm on his private jet with his mother. Paul was completely unaware of my plan, and it made me even more curious to see his expression later.
From: Paul: Okay. At least you can have fun at the bar with your friends like last week.
I could feel a deep disappointment and a bit of insinuation to the message he sent, and I frowned. The signal of disappointment from him was clearly visible. I glanced at his mother who had been sleeping next to me since the plane started taking off.
To: Paul: Paul, I really didn't know that Dr. Grey gave me a longer day off, he said it right at the last minute. I'm sorry, okay? I cannot refuse to meet you if I find out earlier x
From: Paul: Yes, whatever you say.
Wow, this is going to be a catastrophe! Far from what I expected, I didn't expect Paul to be this angry. I straightened up and thought about it in return for her message, trying to calm my heart and put aside her frustration at me. Paul is just discouraged by our current distance and situation, just like me, and there may be problems with his job.
To: Paul: Please, don't be angry, Paul x
To: Paul?
From: Paul: Yes?
To: Paul: Please, don't be angry... I would definitely come if Dr. Grey said it early. I love you 'em '6
From: Paul: Let's move on, I'm busy.
To: Paul: No, you must be mad at me. We're talking now.
Suddenly his name appeared on my phone screen. I froze. Raising his phone would obviously derail my plan, Paul would hear the roar of the engine. While groaning, I refused his call.
To: Paul: Sorry, I can't pick up your phone right now. Paul, please don't blame me, we're both in a difficult position.
From: Paul: Hm, you seem to be busy, Bianka. We'll continue.
I took a deep breath and put my phone on the table in front of me. With a feeling of despair, I rubbed my face while imagining how he would react when I saw him later.
Undoubtedly, awkwardness will meet our meeting. It's been a month since his departure, and we've been fine for the first two weeks by continuing to call or report via text message.
I hate to admit this, but the distance between Paul and I is becoming more visible as time goes on. I was busy preparing for the final exam while Paul's activities with his new club also seemed just as hectic.
An hour later, after Paul's mother woke up and offered him champagne, we both finished half a bottle chatting until the plane landed, but I didn't say anything about Paul's frustration with him.
"Oh, I'm really impatient! Why are you whining, sweetheart?" he asked as the jet we were riding slowly moved towards a pitch-black Range Rover, where Paul was standing next to him holding a mobile phone.
I looked at him, even from a distance he looked so awesome with slightly longer and tied hair, making me want to go around him with my fingers.
Smiling nervously, I replied to her mother. "Ah, no, really. Come down first, I'll catch up..."
Paul's mother nodded her head with an exaggerated look of enthusiasm. "Yes, he wouldn't have thought you were coming. It's fun!"
He stood up while picking up the bag from the table then started to step up and wink at me before exiting the plane. I was still holding my seat with my eyes down, watching Paul greet his mother with one warm hug.
Then I stepped up after thanking a flight attendant. With my heart racing, I got off the plane, walking as slow as I could while Paul was chatting with his mother. He was not aware of my presence.
The feeling of my longing grew even more stirring as I stared at his back closer. God, I really want to hold her...
"Hey," my hiss was smooth with a voice lower than I expected. I held my hand that I could not wait to touch as soon as I realized he was really in front of me, instead of at the other end of the world as I felt this month.
I watched Paul's shoulder tighten, then he turned around. His eyes were round and his mouth slightly opened while his mother smiled broadly beside him.
"Bianka?"
"Hi, Paul." I replied in a trembling voice as it looked at his dark eyes. "Surprise!"
"W-what...what are you doing here?" he stammered, surprised at my arrival. I haven't had a chance to say anything yet, she cupped my face and leaned over to kiss me. I smiled as I raised both hands to hug his neck.
"You're real, love!" Paul took a breath and broke away from me. He rubbed my hair while observing my face with a pleased look but was still a bit surprised. "God, I really miss you!"
With a palm resting on his chest, my smile expanded. I could feel his heart beating fast. "I miss you too, Paul."
He kissed me once again, making me feel completely whole and happy.
