Absolute Soul

Absolute Soul
9. The Meeting of Unintentional

Currently Haikal is doing his daily routine as usual, but this time the training portion is three times more. But he was barely seen exhausted after running about 15 kilometers without pause around the city of Adele.

"I don't think soul energy and power can be trained in this way. Why didn't I think of it before?" Haikal wiped the sweat off his face after running.

During this time Haikal only thought that training physical strength could affect his soul power. Although not mistaken, this method is considered very ancient and the results are nothing compared to other methods. But thanks to a book he borrowed from the academy's library yesterday, Haikal found some information he had never known before.

"Training a physique that has been strengthened with soul energy can increase soul power and soul energy capacity, just as with a physical body. This method is too simple, but strangely not many know it," murmured Haikal sitting on a garden chair that happened to be nearby.

According to the book he read, this method is an ancient method that even existed for hundreds of years ago. Initially this method was only intended to calm and stabilize the soul, but over time it turned into the basis of the strength of high-level martial arts in the past.

Thanks to Verg's invasion, this science is finally buried with the past.

Haikal leaned his chin on his two hands thinking about something, "Did talented people know about it too? It's possible that people like Salvia, Anna, and Edward practiced using this method in their families, considering they were descendants of talented people."

"Hm? What's wrong with me?"

"Gyaa!" Shouted Haikal shocked half to death.

The welcome from the voice of a girl heard Haikal made him shocked half to death. He turned to the source of the voice, "Salvia?!"

"Hi, good morning," said Salvia with her flat face.

Salvia is famous for her expressionless face, but only this time Haikal heard someone say hello using two words of greeting at a time.

"What are you doing here?" Haikal asked looking at the appearance of the purple-eyed silver-haired girl.

The plain white sports jacket with blue stripes on the sleeves, as well as the white shorts Salvia wore dazzled Haikal a little. Although he was not so interested in the romantic relationship between men and women for now, it was impossible for him to reject Salvia's attractiveness.

"Run in the morning" answered Salvia briefly.

Haikal smiled wryly at this girl's reply, "I mean, don't you have great soul power? Why physical training?"

"Why? Is that unnatural?" Salvia was confused by Haikal's question.

"It's not unnatural, I'm just curious."

Blazer prioritizes the power of the soul rather than physical strength, that is the general opinion of Blazer according to the community. Without Blazer's soul power and energy, it was just like an ordinary human.

For Blazer, the owner of a great soul force like Salvia, of course everyone will be amazed to see the Blazer candidate as strong as himself and even train a physical that in fact is not so useful for Blazer.

At least that was what Haikal thought of Salvia and other talented friends.

"May I sit down?" Salvia pointed to an empty spot next to Haikal which of course was immediately allowed.

"For most Blazers, pure physical strength must not mean much to them because it uses soul power that has greater power. But, does that mean Blazers can fight only with soul force without their physical bodies?" Salvia looked at Haikal deeply.

The young man shook his head quickly, of course he was aware that the Blazers were also using their physical bodies. Without a physical body, Blazers would not be able to use their soul power to fight, even if it was a Wizard that in fact deployed a magic-type attack.

Salvia turned her gaze straight ahead, "Haikal, do you know the reason why we need to drain soul energy every time we use Soul Arc or our soul force?"

"Then, why are you still asking me that? Don't you know the answer?" Salvia closed her eyes.

"Isn't it for someone like you the amount of soul energy doesn't matter?" Haikal was a little upset, his initial question was unanswered.

At once Salvia looked at Haikal with a slightly surprised face, "You asked me why I trained physically?"

"Don't you listen to my question?" On the contrary, Haikal's expression became flat to see Salvia's reaction that did not understand the purpose of the question.

The silver-haired girl apologized before replying to Haikal's curiosity, "My father said that when fighting against Verg for a long duration, most Blazers would not be able to last more than an hour as they used most of their soul energy on the physical body in order to fight at full strength. Thanks to that the Blazers often take a hit back when fighting Verg who has high endurance."

"At the time of his training, the Blazers hardly trained their physiques. Thus, without soul energy they were nothing more than weak humans. So dad told me to train physically early on." Salvia ended her explanation with a sigh.

Haikal's eyes widened as soon as he heard the reason Salvia trained his physique turned out to be very simple. He never knew the fact that the Blazers had problems in long-term battles, but it was often reported that usually Blazers did fight for no more than an hour. Only certain Blazers can fight for a long duration.

"That means that with the combination of the soul energy control method I read yesterday and my physical strength that I have forged all this time, the efficiency of my soul energy use can be said to be above the average Blazer?" Haikal said in his heart.

His hands shook violently knowing that fact.

It is true that he is not so talented as a Blazer, but the hard training he has practiced since elementary school turned out to bear fruit on the invisible side. Whether this is a coincidence or fateful luck, Haikal clearly felt happy that his hard work had not been in vain.

"By the way Haikal, I heard you're one of the few people who haven't found the Soul Arc in our class, is that true?" Tanya Salvia turned her gaze to Haikal.

"Yes, that's right. Why?" Haikal was a little astonished, why would a genius Blazer candidate like Salvia notice him?

"May I know how long you've been drowning?"

"Hm.... I'm not too sure, but last time I tried yesterday I could last about ten minutes" replied Haikal who was still hesitant.

"Ten... minutes?" Salvia's eyes widened slightly hearing Haikal's reply.

The girl paused for a while before continuing to ask, "Haikal, your soul energy has not been depleted for that long?" The curiosity of Salvia grew.

"I spent more than 90 percent. Why the hell?" Haikal was also amazed to see Salvia looked very curious about him.

Salvia averted her gaze staring downwards contemplating something. This made Haikal even more curious about the reason Salvia asked about her, "Salvia?"

His call was ignored making Haikal smile wryly. It seemed like Salvia had already sunk into her own thoughts.

A short time later, the silvery-haired girl stood up and looked at Haikal, "Haikal, will you fight with me now?"

The question left the jet-black-haired young man pensive for a few seconds until he finally responded, "What?"
