Absolute Soul

Absolute Soul
86. Haikal in Action

Some time passed since Salvia began to speed up the recovery of his soul energy, Haikal opened his eyes slowly ending his rest session. He turned to and fro looking at the surroundings but did not recognize the place, "Where is this?"

Haikal soon realized that while he was meditating, he could feel the soul energy around Salvia revolving around the body of the silver-haired girl, gradually gathering and absorbing the natural energy around her.

"Ah, Salvia is recovering her soul energy, yes," Haikal murmured inwardly looking at Salvia who looked so concentrated that she did not realize she had woken up, but Haikal just smiled and did not bother Salvia.

"After all, he's been fighting alone while I'm resting." Haikal then got up and did a light stretch, "I also have to do something."

After muttering so, Haikal felt a cold yet cold gust of wind pass through him. His body immediately trembled shivering with coldness. Haikal embraced his own body.

"True, so tense is my situation that I forget that at this time only short trousers are left attached to me," said Haikal coldly remembered important things that he did not realize.

Haikal's gaze was then shifted on the window in the room, more precisely he was looking at a piece of curtain cloth that was rolled under the window. He immediately took out the curtain cloth and enveloped his body using the curtains.

"It's not very nice and comfortable to wear, but it's better than nothing" lamented Haikal, feeling that the curtain-cloth fibers he was wearing were slightly piercing the skin, but he had no other choice.

When he commented about his curtain rags, Haikal then recalled about Soul Saber, Soul Divice loaned Salvia at the start of the tournament. He immediately reached into his waist to check the tool, lucky Soul Saber's iron stick was still hanging on his belt.

Haikal breathed a sigh of relief not to lose the thing. Soul Device was extremely expensive, even the lowest level Soul Device cost 100,000 Bold. If Haikal loses such an expensive tool, he won't be able to replace it anytime soon.

After confirming the Soul Saber was still at his waist, Haikal then closed his eyes and measured the amount of soul energy he had recovered.

"It hasn't fully recovered yet, but it's at least enough to reach the treatment room and go to the first-class building." Haikal clenched his hands feeling more powerful than before.

Haikal's soul energy capacity is arguably very large for the size of a first-class Blazer candidate, thanks to his routine inhumane training, but he was also a little stunned when he found out just by resting a few minutes his soul energy had already recovered by about 20% of his.

Twenty percent does sound like a lot, but in Haikal's case maybe the amount of his soul energy is now roughly equivalent to half the amount of Blazer's soul energy in general.

If only facing a few opponents of the lower Advance level, perhaps Haikal could handle it with the amount of soul energy he had now, but if it was more than that then it would be difficult to even threaten his life.

Haikal then looked at Salvia who was still meditating, then smiled as she sat in meditation for a moment to recover more soul energy. There was no harm in recovering more soul energy considering the situation was quite precarious.

About another fifteen minutes had passed, Haikal opened his eyes when he felt a large amount of his soul energy recover. Now he could feel more than half of his soul energy being replenished.

"Perhaps due to training hard over the past month, my soul energy capacity increased again." Haikal smiled satisfied to find the results of his efforts while waiting for the final round of the Welcome Tournament was not bad, "Then this is how I can use 'it' if needed."

"What do you mean by 'that'?" salvia asked suddenly.

"Salvia, huh? You're surprising me." Haikal almost jumped off the floor so surprised he found Salvia's face which was only about half a meter away, "Have finished gathering her soul energy?"

"That's how it was, a little earlier than you, but at least enough to deal with some opponents," said Salvia feeling confident, "By the way, what do you mean by 'that' just now?"

Salvia wanted to protest why Haikal kept his ability a secret, but when he was about to throw the protest, from the entrance of the room was a group of Verg consisting of several creatures in the form of dogs.

At first glance, these dog-shaped creatures look normal and do not look like Verg, but when viewed more carefully they all do not have eyes and their ears are longer than normal dogs. Probably as long as a normal rabbit's ear.

"Verg Normal-class, Invader-type Predator model, Ear-Dog." Salvia muttered for a moment to find the arrival of the group of Ear-Dogs.

In addition to being divided into seven classes according to their size and level of danger, Verg is also separated again according to their model and body type according to their physical characteristics and unique characteristics.

Verg has several body models that are separated according to their body shape, namely Predator, Floater, Aquatic, and Hybrid. Verg types can be known from their physical features and limbs. This grouping of Verg models is not influenced by the classes embedded in them.

Predator is a Verg model that generally moves on land, Floater has the physical features of light weight and can fly, then Aquatic dynamic shaped and use the fin as a member of motion in the water, hybrid is a combination of two or more of the three previous models.

In addition to the model, Verg also has various types divided into five types based on their unique body characteristics, namely Invader, Flicker, Bunker, Intruder, and Loader. Just like models, Verg types are also not influenced by their class.

In charge of direct attack, Flicker is a Verg with a focus of speed and movement, Bunker who specializes in defensive power, and, A unique type of Intruder that has the ability to usually strengthen friends and weaken opponents, then a Verg-type Loader that can accommodate other Verg-Vergs such as vehicles.

As Salvia said, the Ear-Dogs before them were both Invader-type Vergs with Predator models. The Invader is a type of Verg that focuses on direct attack, while the Predator is a Verg model that usually moves on the ground.

For comparison, the Sea Monkey that Haikal has defeated is a Verg Hybrid model that can move on the ground and in the water, combined from Predator and Aquatic models. For its own type Sea Monkey is Verg Invader type, Verg type that focuses on attacking directly.

Ear-Dog is a Normal-class Verg every single tail, but judging from the number of tails, maybe they can be categorized as Beast-class.

"Salvia, I'll go ahead." Haikal grabbed the Soul Saber hanging on his waist, then drained a certain amount of soul energy and activated it to form a bright green thin sword before stepping forward, "Protect me from behind!"

Salvia wanted to refuse and come forward for them to fight together, but Haikal had already advanced first to make her swallow the words stuck in her tongue, "Yes, you have, after all a Wizard like me is a long-range fighter type."

Regardless of Salvia's reaction, Haikal advanced towards the group of Ear-Dogs without hesitation followed by some Salvia snow from behind. At the same time some Ear-Dogs hit Haikal.

The experience of Haikal fighting Edward and Jack, then facing Veindal when he first came to Volksky's residence to practice was not in vain. He could read the entire Ear-Dog movement and avoid it all.

Of course Haikal not only dodged, he also prepared a counterattack in the form of several Soul Saber slashes that were able to split several Ear-Dogs in one attack.

"Hmm, basically the Ear-Dog is just a Normal grade Verg if it's not clustered. I think this is normal, "inner Haikal looked at the metal Soul Saber stick he held in awe in disbelief that he could finish off several Ear-Dogs in an instant.

After cutting several Ear-Dogs at once, Haikal then did not forget the existence of other Ear-Dogs who were still on standby. He immediately turned around and darted quickly while swinging his energy sword slashing at the remaining Ear-Dogs.

Ear-Dog who could not struggle due to being too stunned by the death of his comrades could only resignedly accept Haikal's sword slash so quickly.

On the other hand Haikal who had just slashed at all of them without remaining raised next to his eyebrows felt astonished, "Is the Normal Verg class indeed this weak?"
