44. Anna vs Jack

The second group match is currently in the semi-finals. Verna's group fights Anna's group, genius against genius, seeded against seed. This match is really expected by many.

Most of the spectators who had previously fainted due to the clash of pressure of Haikal and Edward's soul energy had been awakened, which was why the match immediately started without delay any further.

Actually the lawyer also wanted to postpone the match Heru against the two remaining members of Edward's group because many spectators were not yet awake, but because Heru seemed to rush he did not dare to say it, he did not dare to say it, especially after being granted an exception by Veindal, the headmaster himself.

"Oh, you're so funny, Jack. If you know me, then you know what my answer is, don't you?" Anna replied to Jack's words with a smile, showing neither her trepidation nor fear for this striking blonde-haired man.

Jack just smiled thinly not returning Anna's words, but behind the smile Jack felt a little disturbed by Anna's confidence is quite high.

"Without procrastinating again, the sixth leg of this year's Welcome Tournament semi-final match officially began!" The lawyer's call for the start of the match was overwhelmingly welcomed by the spectators, as were Anna and Jack.

Once the game starts, Jack immediately takes out his Soul Arc in the form of a deck of playing cards, then intends to take one of the top cards. Unfortunately before Jack could touch his card, a blaze came approaching him from the front.

The blaze struck Jack quite far from his standing position, but did not injure him enough. The blaze caused only a few minor burns and the partial burning of Jack's clothes. No excess injuries.

"You just play attack." Jack snorted softly while smiling cynically, showing a card between his right index and middle fingers turning into a wisp of green energy that was absorbed into his body, "It's very impatient."

"Huh, the first attack failed, huh?" Anna was upset that her attack didn't go so smoothly, but she clearly knew someone like Jack was impossible to beat in an instant, "Well, all I need to do is beat him to the ground." Anna then forms empty-handed fighting horses alongside the Soul Arc in her arms.

Jack's expression did not change from usual, but in Jack's heart felt a little annoyed, "Could he know the terms of activating my Forbidden Magic Card ability?" Jack could only guess, but judging from Anna's quick attack just now maybe the girl already knew the terms of activating Jack's Soul Arc.

Jack Calvin is a candidate Blazer type Support with a kind of Job Enchanter, a Job that is usually able to support target—or at least that's public knowledge about Job type Support, Enchanter.

Unlike the usual Job Enchanter, Jack has a rare Job named Arcane Enchanter.

Arcane Enchanter is a Job that is able to provide additional power to the target user as well as ordinary Enchanter, but Arcane Enchanter can provide additional power to anyone who is the target, including its own users.

In the case of Jack, his Forbidden Magic Card can strengthen or characterize the card on itself or its target according to the type and number of cards it takes.

Playing cards consist of four types of cards, namely Heart, Spade, Diamond, and Clover. Heart Card is healing, Spade will give physical strength, Diamond gives the body resistance to any attack, while Clover gives magic power to Jack.

The strength given from these four types of cards alone depends on how high the value of the card is drawn.

If Jack takes Second Clover, he gets twice the increase in his magic power. Likewise if he took the Seventh Diamond, then Jack would get seven times the increase in his endurance. Jack's body is currently not much hurt thanks to the Third Diamond card he took in a narrow time.

Sounds like a really great Soul Arc, doesn't it? It is because of this ability that Jack is nicknamed 'Jack of All Trades' or 'Master of None' by his classmates.

Although it sounds great, this Soul Arc also has its weaknesses.

"Anna, you know my Soul Arc weakness, huh?" Jack could not help his curiosity towards Anna's swift attack.

"Of course." Anna smiled slightly in response to Jack's question, "If you look closely, in every game you sometimes complain of your bad luck. Then, you never change your strategy or attack pattern for at least a minute. Am I right?"

"Heh, great is your analysis." Jack's smile faded slightly, but not until it disappeared completely. Jack feels threatened his secret has been known.

The weakness of Jack's Forbidden Magic Card was not really anything serious, but it was quite fatal in a real fight.

When issuing the Forbidden Magic Card, Jack must take one of the top cards that have been scrambled in his subconscious. Each time a card is activated, Jack cannot take another card for one minute so he will have difficulty matching the ability to be used with the opponent's ability in battle.

After taking one prefix card at random, Jack can choose another card completely free, but remain limited in one-minute intervals.

"Well, the plan is I'll beat you before you take the card, but it's impossible." Anna sighed softly, then kicked the floor darting away as she floated a fist that Jack had managed to hold, "But, thanks to that I already know what card you took."

Although Anna's blow was successfully withheld, Jack was knocked down as soon as he was hit. The card he got was a Diamond, a durability card, not a Spade that was a physical strength card. It's natural that he's knocked.

"I'll shower you with an attack for the next minute, so be prepared!" Not hesitating Anna again darted closer to Jack, this time he launched dozens of punches against his opponent, making Jack could not do anything but defend.
