Absolute Soul

Absolute Soul
35. Snow and Ice IV

The defeat of Salvia surprised many, especially the Salvia fans who stood at the forefront of the audience area arena. Salvia is one of the geniuses who are championed to win in this tournament, but who would have thought that figure actually fell in the quarter-finals?

Falling here does not mean 'nervous' forever, but falling in the match. Salvia could not compete again in this round.

Although many had expected Edward to have such great power, it turned out that Edward's power had surpassed all their expectations. Although his battle manner did not show a man-like demeanor, still no one dared to deny his strength, especially the Guild representatives present.

Most of the Blazers knew about the existence and difficulty of reaching Awakening, but what they saw today was not only one but two people had reached that level, even both of them had not officially bear the name Blazer.

A talent? Hard-working? No, this Salvia and Edward had surpassed many Blazers in terms of determination though not the official Blazer.

Awakening is something that everyone can get as long as the person has steel determination and confidence without giving up, but of course not everyone has it.

Determination is something that is obtained from high commitment, hard discipline, effort that is difficult to imagine by ordinary people.

Two Blazer candidates are able to get Awakening even though it has not become an official Blazer? If this news gets to the international world per-Blazeran then many Blazers will lose their confidence.

After Edward's name was announced as the winner the medics immediately came to Salvia who was thrown into the arena wall, while Edward turned his body intending to walk away from the arena after ending his Awakening changes.

"Hey.he's...."

"This girl is kidding?"

"He can still get up after receiving such a strong crushing attack?"

Not yet had the medics reached his place, seen the figure of Salvia who tried hard to stand up straight. The figure of Salvia who seemed to have not given up after being beaten to a pulp so that made all the spectators surprised, including Haikal who currently widened his eyes in disbelief.

"Salvia...." Haikal shut his mouth spontaneously for some reason. His body trembled in disbelief watching the figure of Salvia who looked very unwilling to lose. Although Haikal did not know, he knew there was an important reason for Salvia to stand with such a body condition.

Everyone was stunned to not believe Salvia's desire to win the fight so strong that he ignored his injury, even though the injury he suffered was not a minor injury. But the surprise did not apply to Edward.

"Still want to fight? Great as well." Edward snorted softly realizing that Salvia had not lost completely, he stopped his steps and turned to face Salvia, "Well, as a fellow man who reached Awakening I understand the feeling of not wanting to lose you."

Edward then stomped his feet against the floor and created a huge ice mound smashing into Salvia from below, "But, you should also know about the difference in strength and when to give up!"

Edward's sudden action of attacking Salvia who should have already lost shocked all the spectators, surpassing everything that had shocked them before.

"What the fuck is with that kid? He asked to be disqualified?"

"Teaching an opponent who has been declared defeated? Is this allowed?"

"Hey lawyer, stop this!"

The audience began to protest Edward's deed, which seemed inhumane, but it did not stop the silvery-white-haired young man from attacking Salvia.

Regardless of the diatribes and protests of the audience, Edward continued to lash out attack after attack with his ice on Salvia's wounded body. It made all the audience who witnessed it increasingly condemn Edward's actions.

The lawyer had repeatedly asked Edward to stop his actions and had the security blazer move to stop Edward, but it was rejected for simple reasons.

Ever since the Welcoming Tournament began it had never been mentioned even though that getting off the floor of the battle area was a condition of defeat. The winning or losing of a person is only determined by the loss of one of the participants consciousness or the surrender statement of one of the participants, nothing else.

Tournament lawyers could not retaliate and stopped telling Edward to stop his actions after being told, but the spectators could not remain silent even if the rules said so.

Edward's actions did not violate the rules of any match, but the audience felt Edward had violated the spirit of the tournament which should have been a friendly match, not a match to kill each other.

Veindal who witnessed all that could only sit quietly in his room, squeezing the lap firmly on his chair until crumpled continuously trying to refrain from interfering in the match.

Even though Veindal knew his daughter was being severely tortured by the young man named Edward Ghaetas, Veindal understood that the match still continued if one of the participants had not given up or lost consciousness.

If Viendal desperate down to the arena and stop the actions of Edward, then his position as the principal can be questioned various parties for favoritism, considering Salvia is the only child of his puppet.

"School head...." One of the teachers who was in the room with Veindal felt sorry to see Veindal's reaction so restrained. If he witnessed his son being tortured in such a way in front of his own face without being able to do anything about it, he would probably react similarly.

Despite the scorn and humiliation, Edward still did not stop his attack on Salvia. Not until the girl falls limp and loses her consciousness or gives up.

"This girl is stubborn as well" Edward muttered inwardly at the sight of Salvia who had no intention of giving up, but it did not make him feel sorry. Instead Edward became increasingly violent attacking him.

In the onslaught of the ice attack not once did Salvia emit a groan or show signs of resistance. Not because he ran out of energy, but he did not want to give up.

Edward continued to attack Salvia for the next few minutes, causing some onlookers to turn their eyes off the scene, while some onlookers lost consciousness for some reason. Some were not strong enough to witness this miserable scene, some were deprived of oxygen thanks to the cries of the other spectators.

The longer the attack on Edward's soul energy decreases, but it does not burden him. What weighed more on Edward at this time was the determination of Salvia who was so strong that she did not want to give up, making Edward feel so upset.

"Just give up, you fucking girl!" Along with the call, Edward mustered a big ice hit Salvia strongly until it hit the girl's body again hit the arena wall.

After exerting one big attack, Edward's breath became a little irregular, but he was still fine. Edward took a deep breath in an instant, then turned around to leave the arena.

"Where do you....?"

The soft voice stopped Edward's steps, making the young man look back with wide eyes.

There is clearly a figure of Salvia who struggled to stand with the body bathed in sweat and wounds blisters, not a few blood red spots coloring her clothes, "The match is not over...."

Although her body was so badly injured, Salvia's eyes were not in line. It can be seen a kind of blaze in his eyes, containing a deep impression for all who see it.

Humiliated by the sight, Edward then reactivated his Awakening and created a dense blackish-blue ice giant that he threw towards Salvia, "Don't be a strong-witted, damned girl!"

Salvia had run out of soul energy and stamina to resist or avoid this attack. Want as hard as he tried to survive, without strength he still lost. Salvia realized this.

"To be here, huh?" Salvia closed her eyes preparing for the final clash before losing consciousness and losing. A single tear came down her cheek, "Sorry, mother...."

A few moments later when Salvia was ready to accept his defeat, the attack did not come to hit his body. It was not an attack nor an ice blow that came to him, but a sound like the shards of something big and a bolt of lightning sounded in his ears.

When Salvia opened her eyes wondering what happened until Edward's attack did not hit her, she saw a shadow turning her back just a step away from her making Salvia was wide, "Hi...?"

Author

Thank you for the support and help the reader has given in the previous chapter, first of all it was.

I'm here to remind you that any story I write doesn't have a fixed schedule up. I write and update according to the mood, so as much as possible please do not be asked for updates, yes.

I know asking for updates is one form of support from readers for most authors, but for me it is a burden.

I'm glad readers love my story and are excited to wait for the next update, but again please don't ask for an update because it will only add to the burden of my story.

I write for my own pleasure, not for the reader, but if the reader wants to read and enjoy yes please, if not yes please step up and look for another story, I do not mind really.

I prefer a few readers who understand me than many readers who ask for updates but do not provide support.

The support I mean is not some kind of 'spirit of Thor, up hold' and others, but the support I like + boosts my spirit it's like describing how or how much you like my story.

I'd rather + appreciate a comment that really 'comments' the story, say a kind of "Well how weak really, when strong?", "what if Salvia dies, Thor?" or questions that invite discussion because it looks really pay attention to the contents, not just reading alone.

Hmm, it seems like I've been confiding too much here. Well, I'll suffice it until here first.

Remember this is not a threat or the like, just remind and tell the reader about me that's how it is.

So well, the point is as long as you don't disturb the way I write, then there's no problem between me and you.

Hey, sayonara!~
